Antonio welcomed us warmly and recommended a fabulous place to have dinner on our first night, The Plough and the Stars, an Irish pub nearby. All of the hotel staff were helpful and kind. I left several items in my room and they kept them for me and even sent one to me. Myself and my friend had a wonderful time in Philadelphia and that was largely due to the excellent location of this hotel in the historic district. I also highly recommend Frieda a community Cafe nearby on Walnut St...Best breakfasts ever! And wonderful staff and beautiful space.

I asked to be moved because of street noise and Antonio (front desk) was happy to help me and moved me to an upper floor to a comparable room. I was very happy and slept well for the rest of my stay. The room is very pretty and vintage in style even had exposed brick and a fire place. I know not all rooms have a fire place. The location was great and I always felt safe. A Starbucks is about 2 blocks away and a coffee shop is across the street- awesome little cafe. Subway station that could take me everywhere I wanted to go was just up a block- very convenient!
Nothing they fixed my concern with the street noise by moving me to a different room.

I loved how clean it was the set up of the room was more modern than the pictures show. The hot tub was a bonus. I didn’t even know that was coming with our room, very clean and quiet. You wouldn’t expect how it looks inside from looking outside. I would definitely come back.
I wasn’t too fond of the $35 parking. there was really nowhere to park on the street so you kind of had no choice but to pay that or park blocks away. Also, didn’t like that there was no microwave or a mini fridge in case you wanted to heat up some thing or keep something cool.

We stayed at the Penn View Hotel after returning from our wedding/honeymoon trip! We informed them of a late check in due to arriving in Philadelphia after a delay and they upgraded our room since we were getting married! The hotel is conveniently located to all of the historical attractions and it was amazing. The building itself was gorgeous and so historical. The hotel staff was so kind. The room we stayed in had a spa tube so that was nice to soak in after a long day of travel.
The parking situation was a bit confusing. There was a parking lot right next to the hotel however we did not receive a ticket on our way in and had to pay in order to get out of the parking lot.

The hotel is a restored historic building and that was cool. It's located in an area that is close to everything including Penn's Landing. The staff was lowkey and helpful. They don't offer breakfast but they do provide muffins and coffee in the morning. There is a restaurant that is open for dinner but I didn't get to try it. The staff also was kind enough to stash my bag after I checked out and kept it safe until I came back to grab it and catch my train. It's also close to the 30th Street train station.
Bathroom was a bit dated and the lighting wasn't the best. But other than that, not real complaints.

The hotel manager was so nice and genuinely concerned for our comfort. It's hard to find that level of customer service these days. He made the stay great! Location was great too..just an easy walk to the historical sights or hop on the metro next to the hotel for further exploration. My only wish was that Philly was cleaner..the city was dirtier than expected and the number of druged up homeless on the streets was really sad to see. The hotel did a great job keeping its area clean though and I never felt unsafe even out late.

Such a cool location. Very close to SEPTA and lots of attractions and good places to eat. The hotel is really sweet and small. It's very nostalgic and even has real room keys, not those swipe things. They have coffee and muffins in the morning. My room was clean and had an awesome Juliet balcony.
This is not the fault of the hotel, but Google maps definitely told me to turn down that tiny little cut street next to the hotel instead of Market Street. The street is only 6 ft wide. Ha ha. Don't worry folks. There's a parking lot right next door and then it's only a few feet from the parking lot to the hotel, but don't go down that little side street.

Comfortable and clean interesting historic hotel. Able to pull right up front door to unload. It was small, but nice, and the restaurants walking distance. We were near our favorite Cuba Libre. We had a room with a great view of the nightlife with a tiny balcony. It was cold enough that we left our food bag out there overnight! Parking was next to hotel and the attendant was super nice and helpful. Friendly manager at the hotel. I don't like big hotels so this was perfect.
No refrigerator, but It was cold enough that we left our food bag on balcony overnight! and got ice in the morning for it. Unfortunately, the lights near Penn View I think it was....were so bright that it was hard to sleep. I let the manager know that even with shades it was like a spotlight shining in all night. He noted that and hopefully will change to blackout shades. There are other rooms on the other side without this problem.

The location is amazing! Just five minutes by foot to get to nice cafés, bars, and restaurants. Penn's landing just around the corner is great if you want to go for a little walk or run. It will also only take you five minutes to get to some of the most important sight seeing spots and only around 15 to get to the city center. The hotel looks really charming, and the room is really cozy and comfy. Everybody working there was also really nice!
Everything is a little old but I guess that's just part of the charm of the hotel. The street can be a little noisy and the bathrooms are on the smaller side but nothing too problematic.

Everything! Located at Old Town, it brings an wonderful atmosphere for your trip. The staff was extremely gentle (and one of them that I supposed to be te owner, speaks Portuguese). We arrived early, and they provide us an early checkin (and also ask us to report if the room wasn’t good enough for us, so they could change). They offer FREE coffee and muffins from 7am to 10am.
Well, it’s an almost perfect hotel. I have just 2 suggestions: improve the lighting isolation for nights and put some towel hooks at the bathroom. But these are mere details. The hotel, in my opinion, is fantastic.
