Holiday Inn Express Mount Pleasant- Scottdale, an IHG Hotel

The breakfast was simple but tasty; those swirl buns were nice and thick, and so flaky! The location was excellent; my wife and I went to the ren faire, which ended up being only 20 minutes away.

I was hoping the light blinds in the room would go all the way to the bottom, but they stopped about 2/3 of the way down. This allowed a lot of the outside lights to come in when trying to sleep (my wife prefers the light, I don't, so it was fine on her part, a little disappointing for me). The only other negative was some of the other guests who were obnoxiously loud late at night when they came back to their rooms - obviously not the fault of the hotel or staff, so I wouldn't count that against the place.

Didn’t eat the breakfast provided. We were given a ground floor room as requested, loved a fridge, coffee maker etc. And the layout of the room. Well thought out.

No hand soap was provided at the sink in the bathroom. I heard another guest request one from the front desk clerk who commented “we are out of soap”. Given the hand washing edict in the time of COVID I think this is unacceptable. The hotel was full of a large wedding party who spent a lot of time at all times of the night visiting one another, talking in corridors and slamming doors. The internal soundproofing was poor.

Location

Seemed very generic. Nothing special that stood out. Staff was indifferent. Like they could care less if you were customers or not. This is not a problem, but what they charge for a room, you would think they would be a bit friendlier. Not too many other hotels in that area. Take it or leave it.

The staff was excellent and hard working and receptive to our needs especially the managers.

Staff was short handed so rooms could not get cleaned or refreshed with clean tiles until you moved out of the room. Short of kitchen staff as well so managers had to restock breakfast, which was limited. The cost turned out to be more than our quoted cost from Bookings even though we were given a discount by the hotel for our inconvience of having to move twice due to a leaking commode.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly. They were having some supply issues but that was out of the manager's control. Breakfast was good and met my dietary needs.

We needed a handicap room and one was not available although it stated it was on the website. When I tried to book the room the website kept sending me to booking.com and everything I was trying to request was not transferring over.

Appears to be new or newly remodeled. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds. Lots of restaurants, convenience store nearby.

No problems, but price seems a little high for location in such a small town, rural area, several miles off the turnpike.

Breakfast was a good selection. Having coffee maker and refrigerator in the room is very nice.

The refrigerator was on the floor. It would be helpful it was on a table. The freezer compartment in the refrigerator wasn't closing properly.

The location was good for what we were doing. The bed was large and comfortable. They had enough pillows of various density. The water pressure in the shower was exceptional. The furniture was new. There were plenty of places to power and charge items.

The channel line up on the card in the room did not match the channels on the TV. The TV was really just a little too small for the distance it was from the bed. It was during the pandemic, so the rules for breakfast don't really make for a comfortable eating situation, to we did not partake of the breakfast at the hotel.

There was a problem with my reservation according to the staff. I've never encountered this kind of issue with other booking apps. The manager at the facility had to make some special adjustments. It took about 20 min to check in and issues the next morning checking out. Be aware. Thanks.

Close to restaurants and retail. Near highway for easy access. Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Nice breakfast buffet.

Dated decor in rooms. Only one towel in bathroom.
