Motel 6-Portland, OR - North

The staff was SO nice. Monique and Paul at the front desk were wonderful! Friendly and helpful. I also met Francisco, who was a pleasure to encounter repeatedly. And I loved having a real window in my room. But what takes the cake is that the motel isn't moldy. I got severely sick several years ago from living in a house with toxic mold, so I know when I'm in a moldy place now. My body reacts. Traveling unfortunately comes with anxiety now, as I fear staying in another place that will expose me. I'm so grateful and happy to say that that wasn't a problem here.

The sheets on my bed had gross stains on them. I hate to be wasteful, but those should really be thrown away. I have lived with several minifridges and am used to the noise. The one in my room was the loudest I have ever heard. I had to unplug it at one point to be able to fall asleep.

This location serves coffee! Jessica at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. She made us feel welcomed. Although the motel is located in a questionable area, the building is fully equipped with security cameras and the property is well lit and maintained with a beautiful grassy area surrounded by well manicured trees and bushes. Safety is a priority to Jessica as she monitors all entrances and exits allowing her to know who is coming and going. I feel safe knowing she's watching out for her guests. Motel 6 Corporation should extend the Smoking Floor/Smoking Rooms to include ALL their present assets. This would be an exceptional move on their part and an excellent show of fairness to smokers nationwide. We are humans to😁. L

More choices of vending machine selections. To include, especially all varieties of cow milk plus vegetarian alternatives.

The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but the female front desk Manager or employee was exceptional. While I was waiting for a cab she dealt with a situation where a man was upset because he could not extend his stay due to the fact that the hotel was completely booked. This person ended up screaming profanities at the female employee, threw his room key at her, and accused her erroneously of racially profiling him. In reality she could not have been nicer to him and nothing about his characterization of the event could be further from the truth. She kept her cool throughout the entire situation even when he yelled at her and threw his room key in her direction.

There are a lot of homeless camps near the property. No one caused a problem but visually when approaching the property it's a bit jarring.

The staff, especially Marcell, were so friendly and welcoming. We are a special needs family with accessibility requests, and the Motel 6 PDX north location met those needs and then some. We are back now for a second stay checking out tomorrow, and will definitely recommend this property to friends and loved ones traveling to the area. Thanks y'all, you rock 🤘

The area is a little sketch but the hotel in is completely safe and having monitored patrols so that isn't really a bad thing because it's central to Portland and Vancouver. They stand for marginalized and unheard folks and make sure everyone is comfortable and well taken care of.

The manager is professional, friendly and courteous. The staff are kind, yet take no issue whatsoever in ensuring that building security and guest safety remain top priorities by identifying and removing potential problematic guests and their company. The housekeeping staff somehow manage to keep a friendly and patient nature about them, which must be difficult at times. I’ve worked in housekeeping, sometimes you walk in to clean a room, see the state of it, and nothing would make you happier than walking out again and shutting that room off for good!

The location, while improved to a degree with recent business development, still needs a lot of help before it will seem an entirely safe area to leave the motel grounds by foot.

The staff was by and large really great. The morning guy who man's the window before check in was quite rude and unhelpful. To counter balance it though, Jessica was stellar. She was so cheerful, helpful, and pleasant. Whatever your paying her, add an extra $1k/year onto it and then double it!

Location wasn't the best. It's a little out of the way but that's what I chose on purpose, so that was fine with me. So, if you want something smack dab in the middle of the city, be aware this isn't. The rooms are a touch on the smaller side. So, if you're wanting to get a room for you and your dozen closest friends, maybe not this one. For my husband, dog, and I though? Perfectly okay!

The location was easy to get on and off the freeway either way 205 or i-5, close to everything, easy to find, easy to get around.

It was clean and comfortable, pet friendly.

They didn't have a breakfast that I could see. But we had stayed at the downtown Motel 6 the night before and it was a disaster. Bugs chewed us up, drug deals in front of our door, prostitution going on, no remote for the TV, uncovered vent in the bathroom, hot water didn't work in the sink, ONE towel (for a two bed room), loud music until 4:30 am and the bed linens were so bad we brought in our own pillows and sleeping bags. We decided to go to Motel 6 North early. The morning mgr was awesome. I showed her my chewed up hands, related our tale of woe and she waved the early check in fee. She also directed us to a great coffee shop around the corner. The room was cool and quiet and everything worked. The only complaint was we had an accident on one of the beds and asked to have the sheets redone. The maid said she would, but didn't, so didn't use the 2nd bed the 2nd night. Had great doggie "park" area to one side where our two small dogs could go with plenty of grass and trees. Very nice!.

The location is a bit sketchy, but was convenient to restaurants, Walmart and the aforementioned coffee shop. The snack machines needed to be filled more fully, only about 1/2 full.
