Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites East End, an IHG Hotel

this was our final stop on our road trip - we wanted a hotel that wasn't too far from JFK (but not too close either) this was perfect - Rivehead gave us the opportunity to see the hamptons and Sag Harbor and also do a little bit of shopping to take presents home with us. the hotel was very peaceful, spacious and clean and the breakfast buffet was good. It is also worth mentioning that this had by far the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in also

I liked that the hotel had hot tea and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Breakfast till 10am which was nice and big variety of food and drinks. The room, bathroom, towels and sheets were clean. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided in the bathroom. Easy booking online.

Very bad lightning in the room (only 3 small lamps that did not give enough light in the room). The beds were not very comfortable, all members of my family woke up several times during the night. People making noise on the hallway at 5am.

The bed was very comfortable. We liked that the room had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. loved that the room was large and had a couch and table. Loved the Dove products. Plenty of towels

Ac unit was finicky . People in the hallways sounded like people were right in our room. I dont mind hearing people in the hallways that is to be expected but other places we have stayed they sounded more muffled. maybe thicker walls idk. Our key cards kept deactivating even after we made sure to keep them away from everything.

Location was perfect for our needs. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was good, but wish you had waffle maker. The room was ample, quiet and very clean. The window shade was VERY GOOD, it blocked out 99 percent of outside light. VERY IMPORTANT for us. Best shades we have ever encountered in many years of travel.

One small problem was the closet doors were difficult to open and close. I’m sure it is a minor adjustment and I told front desk upon check out. It was VERY MINOR and would stay there again.

Breakfast was good. Nice clean facility. Window shades were better at staying closed than other facilities that we have used. Like the soap and conditioners in bottles.

Would have preferred more coffee pods in the room. Would have liked drinking glasses (like you had for juice at breakfast) in the room for water plus the needed coffee cups.

Good location for the hotel. Stores are just a quick walk to get to. Parking was very spacious. The room had what we needed for our stay. The breakfast was just an extra bonus. The person at the desk was very polite. TYVM

Nothing. It was just an overnight stay and we didn’t get to use all of that the hotel had to offer.

Ideal location for convenient stay by foot with supermarkets and restaurants nearby, even without a car. Close to outlet for shopping as well as to the beaches, recreation options and fine scenery and dining in the Hamptons. It is clean and staffs are flexible and helpful, who can understand customer’s needs. Thank you for making us stay comfortable.

Missing indoor heated pool and restaurant & bars. Better foods can be offered during breakfast. Business center can be better equipped, comparing to Hilton garden Inn or other similar hotels. Overall, it is a pleasant experience staying there for a moderate price in the right selected period of time.

Still, all the staffers were kind and patient if I needed help, and my service dog has new members of her fan club. Had to extend my stay for 2 days due to vehicle problems and the staff was very accommodating.

It's beyond control of the hotel, but it's frustrating that none of the service providers on the East End from Verizon to DirecTV have built out their infrastructure in order to provide uninterrupted Wi-Fi. So it's quite difficult to sync your phone and laptop. But again, that is beyond the control of Holiday inn express.. I was also distressed to see only one of the front desk staff from my February stay still here and some of the housekeeping staff succumbed to the pandemic.

Glad they finally added the hot breakfast back. Guests must factor in additional time to maintain 6 ft distancing and plan accordingly. As always when I use them for short stays, Holiday inn Express Riverhead staff are reliably competent, professional, courteous, security conscious, and friendly. Only two negatives were completely beyond control of staff - an unmasked subcontracted midnight shift security person was admonished twice, but could still be seen with nose exposed or mask under chin in the wee hours of the morning when I woke up due to pain from my disability and sought to walk it off outside; or if my service dog awakened me in the middle of the night to let me know she had to go to the bathroom. The other problem completely beyond control of staff was a raucous wedding party that had to be admonished by staff several times and finally quieted down after the second or third intervention by security or staff. I will come back to this to mention more, but scott, katie, lori, natalie, Rick and others went above and beyond. They kindly printed out copies my Wi-Fi provider would not route to the printer W/O CHARGE, because the whole East End was out As always in their Riverhead facility and in Holiday inn Express facilities Nationwide, housekeeping was efficient and detail-oriented. Because I was stranded while my car was being repaired during a major blizzard followed by vicious cold snaps and additional snow, sleet and night time freezing of daytime rain, the housekeeping staff was very patient in waiting outside the room for me to put on my service dogs halter and coat and suit myself up for a couple of slow circuits around the building. And here is where wilson, the outside maintenance staffer responsible for keeping the sidewalks and curb cuts clear serves a stadium full of people standing on their seats holding lighters aloft.

Again, completely beyond the control of Holiday inn Express Riverhead staffers: unmasked morons roaming the hallways and a rambunctious wedding party. What kind of imbeciles are still holding weddings and receptions in the middle of a pandemic anyway?!

Holiday Inn was great. However, it is located a short distance from a race track. It was noisy. Fortunately, the car racing stopped at 11 pm. I wish I would have known about the race track prior to booking.
