We’ve stayed here several times over the years, but not since the new ownership and renovation. We love the location, on Lake Placid but a short walk to Main Street. There are still canoes and kayaks for use on the lake, and even more chairs as well as a fire pit (which was never lit while we were there, unfortunately). The room was clean and the linens and towels were very nice. Bathroom was well stocked with nice products.

With the little kitchen area and the king size bed, the room seemed crowded. Also, the lighting in the room could have been better. We never saw a person, and it’s fortunate we didn’t need any help.

It is on Lake Placid . The location is Close enough to Main Street to walk to Mirror Lake and the Resturant’s and stores. But far away from the crowds if your stay is during a very busy time . The Placid Bay Hotel is more along the lines of a motel. The check in concept is self reliant, but we never felt without someone to reach out to if we wanted . The day staff we met were very friendly and concerned for the quality of our stay . I choose to stay at Placid Bay for several reasons : wanted to have a lake and Mountain View , the price range for a very popular weekend , the small kitchen like area in the room . There is a small lobby with seating , coffee , and breakfast bars .

First time staying at the property. The room appeared newly renovated and was very comfortable. Thermostat and heat worked great. Appreciated the single serve coffee machine (Starbuck's pods). Would definitely stay again.

Was unfortunate to have noisy neighbors (TV on loud volume and lots of walking around above), but the manager/owners responded immediately and remedied the issue. That said, it is an older building like many of the motels and hotels in Lake Placid. The rooms could use more hangers or a coat rack to make hanging up gear easier in the winter.

The room was very clean, equipped with a small kitchenette, king bed, table and chairs and a full bath. Also came equipped with local shamooo, conditioner and shower gel plus utensils, wine glasses, a refrigerator and microwave for heating up leftovers. We had the perfect view of Lake Placid and Whiteface mountain, with access to the pool, dock, paddle boards and kayaks.

It was so easy to check in,they actually just sent a code for door when room was ready,no lines for checking in,if you need anything it's in the office,just go pick it up,fire pit out back stacked with wood plus the paddleboards,kayaks,and canoes, it would recommend and stay again.

Had to go down to office to get pods for coffee maker as none was in room but honestly I'm jyst filling space in this section

Great location. Pool was great. Loved that you had kayaks for guest yo use without additional charges. Most places would want to charge extra. I like the self checkin.

Nothing really. If I said anything negative it would be about the carpet. LVT would be much better in those rooms. Our carpet was wet probably from the rain and stained...but not that big of deal to us. Still a great experience.

It's right on Lake Placid, only a half-mile to the Village, so no need to drive/park in nice weather. the views from the back of the motel are gorgeous, with Whiteface Mountain the prominent feature. The bathroom was modern and clean and there was plenty of room in the bed/kitchen area. Walk to drug store, supermarket, convenience store, McD's.

The lighting was poor in our room. The fixture over the bed didn't work right but our room was right on the parking lot so we couldn't leave the drapes open. Not much table space if you eat in.

Excellent location. Beautiful bay with kayaks to use for free. Beautiful rooms with everything you could possibly need. The pool area was awesome. The view was so relaxing at night. Our entire family was sad to leave this hotel. There are so many things to do in the area. The lounge area had an ice machine, microwave and extract towels. Contactless check in was a plus. We will be back.

location and distance to the town and shops were good, and the check in was really easy.

parking was difficult when more people were checking in, we wished there was a mat when you walk in the door if our room so the whole front area of carpet was always wet and dirty, and the mini fridge was always getting caught on the rug or drapes so we always had to double check that it was closed so our food stayed fresh

Very nice, clean, modern and affordable rooms close to Lake placid town center and 20 min by car to Whiteface mountain ski resort. Very communicative staff. Kitchenette including both a coffee brewer and coffee machine with complimentary capsules, a toaster, microwave and fridge. Perfect for us to make breakfast in the morning. We booked a room with a king size bed which was very comfortable.

We had a huge bed and not much more space in the room, but it was just enough for the two of us.
