Grand Ely Lodge

Brilliant location!! The view from our room and restaurants was glorious! Front desk staff are experts at their craft. Welcoming and helpful. They cheerfully direct and solve any dilemma that may arise. A real bright spot in our visit was Rodger. I'm uncertain of his official title but he was a master of outdoor activities. He too was cheerful, helpful, funny, and engaging. He knew the lake, the town of Ely, and the resort well. His generous, playful spirit will long be remembered by us all, adults and children alike.

Can't think of a thing!

Great location right on the lake! We could hear loons calling from our room. Quiet room so sleeping was easy. Strong water pressure. Free canoe and kyak usage. You can rent motorized boats. The pool, hot tub and sauna were wonderful. They have a game room.

Strong water pressure and slow drainage led to standing water when showering. May have just been out room.

The room was very good and the view from the room was spectacular. We enjoyed the breakfast and the friendly server. Parking was always easy.

The beautiful lawn on the backside of the hotel (but facing the spectacular view) was littered with bits of trash, finally picked up on our last day. We had to complain at 11:30 PM one night because of VERY NOISY people partying on the deck outside the bar. All guests are given written instructions that quiet time is from 10PM to 8AM so this was dissappointing. One morning the sitting area in the main lobby was littered with lots of dirty bar glasses. They remained there from Breakfast until later in the morning when we left for our day's activities.

The facility was more than we expected. The room was really nice and extra large. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the dining was way above what we expected. Huge servings for a moderate price. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

I have a difficult time coming up with suggestions to improve our stay. We stayed three nights and were always greeted with a smile. No suggestions.

Love this hotel. Booked a banquet room for a celebration of life. The entire staff were amazing. Lindsay not only booked and coordinated our event, she also served it! Jen and Jake are also two rock stars! Jen was point on for all of our meal service and she is greatly appreciated. Jake was behind the scenes ensuring all of our guests were taken care. Love the guys in the bar is a big shout out to Bob. Five Star Hotel!! We will be back.

We were surprised that we were told we had to vacate the lobby at midnight.

We felt there were way too many guests dining in the reception area, did not like how many guests were allowed around the facility without masks. Glad to have takeout from the restaurant available. Did not like how we were originally directed to the elevator for the second floor (once we understood the layout of the facility, we always took the stairs for adequate ventilation while returning to our room). We found the staff to be gracious, very hospitable, and responsive to our questions and concerns.

Location to town and outfitters. Back view was great. Cool swimming pool and hot tub!

Needed a reservation at dinner and didn't know it. It's a bit dated so. Old use some upgrades.

The bench in the bathroom was dirty and there were fingernail clippings on it. Made me wonder how clean the rest of the room was.

Perfect setting for exploring the area. The water sports amenities and location were great. The room was comfortable and very clean.

Time to upgrade those shower heads in the bathroom!
