The room and all linens and towels were very clean, the beds were very comfortable, hot water supply was great, the mini fridge worked well and kept all of our food for the week at a cold temperature, nice sized table to eat our meals, it was super quiet, and the AC worked very well. The owners are very kind and acted like a concierge to help us plan an unexpected rainy day--the recommendations they gave were wonderful! This motel is truly like a hotel. Although the room was not cleaned during our stay (standard practice nowadays for many hotels/motels) fresh towels were always available in the lobby if we dropped off our dirty ones in exchange. We deeply appreciated this. We would very happily stay here again. The view of stars outside is also incredible.

A renovated older property, a very large, clean and comfortable room with workspace if you need to work online or spread out papers. There was also a sturdy little table for eating breakfast or whatever. Our room was on the back side of the building so we sat out watching the sunset on the little patio area, very pleasant. It is a 6 minute (?) walk to the village of Chatham, we were ate at the Chatham Pub, but for 2 nights was our home base for visiting Munising (15 minute drive) for lots of summer activities. Much less expensive than staying in Munising town.

The Village Inn is an AMAZING value and an unbelievable great find. Large rooms, comfortable beds, immaculately cleaned, and friendly and accommodating host. Would not hesitate to book here when visiting the area in the future. Do not second guess booking a stay at the Village Inn. You will not be disappointed.

The only thing is the location, but I was aware of this when I booked. It is about a 20-minute drive or so to Munising and 35 or so to Marquette, but this is why the rates are not $300 a night like you will spend at the other locations for a far less clean and comfortable room.

Cute, charming little place. Don and Lynn who oversee the inn are great (super personable, friendly, and helpful).

I had two flies and a small spider in my room, and my friend had a fly or two and a handful of winged beetles or something in her room. The doors to the outside don't have storm/screen doors on them, so when coming and going insects can easily fly in. I don't know if having storm doors would work due to all the snow come winter time, but they might help with keeping some of the bugs out during the warmer-weather months. My suggestion to any future visitors would be to get into your room quickly each time and close the door immediately behind you. Same thing for leaving the room too!

Located in an extremely quiet, country environment just down the road from a unique “Yooper” Co-Op and Mama Cow’s Ice Cream stand which was delicious! The owner was very sweet and accommodating. There were two locally made chocolate bars on the desk when we arrived along with helpful info about area activities. She gave us bottled water in the morning as she was hanging the towels to dry on the wash line! It’s just about 15-20 minutes down a beautiful dirt road to the Au Train Beach area. We also didn’t expect to have 2 separate bedrooms with our own bathrooms which was nice for a family with 2 teen boys!

It was a bit farther from Painted Rocks area than we would have liked and the price was a little steep considering the remote location and no breakfast.

The room was very comfortable and clean! I liked the long counter to set things on and also a table to eat at. The keurig was an awesome idea for the room as well as the boot tray. We also appreciate the baseboard heat instead of the typical noisy blower in most rooms. One other little thing we appreciated was 2 different pillows on each bed. It was nice to have a choice in pillows. The staff gave great directions for food near by and had some other local tips too. It was quiet, and my daughter and I felt safe.

There wasn't anything at all to complain about. The location is a bit out of the way, but I chose that spot based on distance to all the places we wanted to visit.

We traveled for picture boat ride and the shipwreck boat. It was about 25 minutes back and forth. Nice and clean room. Loves the handle bars in the bathroom to assit with getting around. Key was a little frustrating to reopen the door when we returned in the evening but we got it figured out. My spouse just wished it was closer to town. Everything is so far away in the u.p.

Everything! Cute little motel located halfway between Marquette and Munising. It was a huge room that was freshly redone - the carpet still smelled new! Literally everything looked brand new. Fridge and microwave were convenient to have. The Yooper bar waiting in the room was a nice touch too. Everything was spotless. The owners/innkeepers are great w/communication too.

The pillows. That's about it.
