Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Waterfront

Everything was very good about the rooms and the location. We were quite comfortable. They gave us suggestions about places to eat and we tried one for breakfast and it was a good choice.

One of my family left her coat in the room closet. We called twice in the next two days and really didn't get any help. Just said "we didn't find it" They offered to call back but never did. Several days later we called back again and although the staff member was more helpful, she stated that the housekeepers don't always look in the closet so probably another guest took it" I guess that means the housekeepers don't clean in the closet between guests. We realize we will never see the coat again but have many doubts about what really happened to it.

Spacious room.

No toilet bowl brush to clean sticky poop on the bowl. Please put one or install a hand bidet in all your toilet. In the best cities in the Middle East, you cannot find a toilet without a hand bidet. Even the labor toilet has one! And here in the US people rely on toilet paper? Unhiegenic and surprisingly primitive than the folks in the middle. Teach your guest how to be real clean by putting hand bidet in all of your hotels across the US. Thank you.

Great location, clean, friendly and helpful staff.

The website lists parking is $21 per night. Apparently it changed quite some time ago to $35 per night but not updated on the site. That is a 40% increase! Deceitful, especially after paying over $1000 for a two day stay. We should never have had to pay more than what is advertised and should be refunded for the difference. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Elite Member and am very disappointed with this.

clean and great location. staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked last minute and we were only there from about 930 pm to 630 am so did not get to experience all the hotel had to offer.

I was surprised you did not have complimentary coffee in main entry area and no complimentary breakfast. It was a Starbucks I believe that you had to pay to get anything. Most nicer hotels have at least a continental breakfast. That being said, we left before breakfast anyway.

The beds were very comfortable. The tv wasn't working properly, but the maintenance guy came quickly and fixed it in less than 10 minutes. All of the staff were very pleasant. The valets were also very quick and efficient

The coffee maker in the room was dirty and had a used coffee pod in it.

Room was excellent. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom shower was absolutely wonderful but I would add one note: there needs to be a handrail inside the shower on the wall. The floor in the shower was a bit slippery and the handrail would have added a layer of protection. There is a handrail as soon as you enter the shower area but an additional one is needed. The staff was outstanding. Can't say enough nice things about how the staff treated us.

Huge room & beds were super comfortable, hotel was in a great location - only 5-10mins walk into the harbour area withshops/restaurants. Would recommend Becky's diner (across the road) for breakfast & Boones restaurant for dinner. Also the lobster rolls & clam chowder at The Porthole were delicious :)

The hotel charge for valet parking but we realised afterwards that there was plenty of free parking on the street.

Staff was fantastic. Room was perfect. Location was key. I'm not a huge fan of valet parking only for the fact that when you go shopping you have to bring all of the shopping bags up to the hotel . Then back down again . I would just leave them in my car if I parked it myself . Its understandable in a city though, and I thought it is nice to not have to worry about parking.

The cost . Given that this was a decent room downtown . It was still the same cost as a mortgage payment for two nights stay . It was our 10 year anniversary though so I had to pay the piper.

Nicely situated modern hotel within the old port district. Comfortable large room with great bedding. Welcoming reception staff and pleasant staff throughout.

Hotel's listing indicated that parking was available; I was surprised to find that this was valet only. Room was advertised as "water view" but this was somewhat deceptive as intermediate views were large parking areas. Continental breakfast not provided as indicated.

The eating area downstairs is nice with tables and booths for families to gather. The hotel also has nice laundry facilities and exercise room. And it is CLEAN!

$30 valet park ONLY! There is no self-parking and it is $30, which seems very high to me for that level of hotel and that Portland isn’t a major city where parking is that expensive. Also, we didn’t like feeling that we needed to tip the valet when we had paid $30.
