Econo Lodge Downtown Louisville

The front desk worker, T’ann, helped me out and made me feel I was going home every day after my whole day tour in Louisville. I also witnessed she helped a customer who can’t speak English. She tried different ways to help him and provided the best service. I have traveled to almost 50 states and stayed in lots of hotels. I can tell you: she is the best!!!! 👍👍👍

Room is not that clean like I thought. Hair is all over the places such as bed, pillows, and toilet. 😞 in my opinion, “ clean” is a very basic standard for a hotel even a cheaper one.

Econo Lodge is situated close to the center of Louisville, and in close vicinity to some important locations such as the Kentucky International Convention Center (5 minutes walking distance). The receptionists were welcoming & helpful. They even recommended attractions close by, which are worth visiting. The rooms were clean, spacious & the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean; however, the space was limited. Room amenities such as towels and soap were provided. The breakfast was alright, which included bagels, hot pancakes, bread, cereals, yogurt etc. The staff was friendly and the room service was good as well.

During our stay of 6 nights, our keycard got disabled thrice, which was a bit annoying to find out after reaching the door. Nothing significant other than that.

Afternoon receptionist was really nice

Lots of homeless and prostitutes hanging around The breakfast was so awful and cheap. They dont get fresh pastries but saved the uneaten ones for the next day. How cheap can they be! No eggs and said the pancake pan was broken. Why don’t they fix it?? Duh Room floors were filthy. My feet were black from walking to the bath from the bed. Gross!!

I love the value I got from my stay. The cost was very good, it was in a very convenient location in walking distance to many things to see in downtown, the room was comfortable and clean.

I didn’t love the fact that there were fire engines going off quite a bit, probably because the fire department must be dispatched anytime there’s any sort of health emergency, even if there aren’t fires happening. And the fire station must be very close by. But that was the only thing I didn’t like.

Bed was extremely comfortable, nice size pillows, water pressure and temperature in shower were excellent. AC was cold. Very hospitable and helpful staff. Hotel was in a convenient area with easy access to downtown area.

Toilet seat was broken, floor was a bit dirty all over and also bumpy in bathroom. Electrical outlets were only on one side of the bed.

The rooms were very clean, with in short walking distance to 4th street live, and lots of bars and eateries all around. The staff was AMAZING! The 3rd shift desk attendant actually stood outside and watched me cross the road and run into the convenient store late at night. That was very kind of him. I read the reviews before staying and read a lot of bad reviews due to the homeless in the parking lot. Please remember 1. this is a LARGE city and unfortunately, there are homeless 2. these are people like you and I that are down on their luck! Be kind and generous! We took snacks and hot chocolate packets to hand out to the unfortunate. Just be kind. They aren’t there to hurt you and they don’t cause any trouble…

Don’t order papa johns pizza! It was terrible! The hotel itself was great!

Being an older property, it seemed to be well maintained and kept clean. There was however an issue with the payment. The issue is with Booking and not the Econo Lodge, they were happy to refund the original payment back to me. There was a double payment made for this reservation. I am still dealing with Booking to get my refund.

The person who registered us when we arrived in the afternoon was informative, very helpful with restaurant suggestions, and gave good directions to them. She was also very friendly and good-natured. I only wish our other two clerks had some of that personality. Then I could have given a very good rating to the staff overall. It was also very nice to have a parking lot onsite so I didn’t have to find a parking spot on the street every time I left the premises and came back.

The only problem with the “non-smoking” room was it had an odor of maybe past years having not been designated as such. The night clerk was obviously not happy to be there, and when he finally made an appearance, his demeanor seemed to say that he didn’t appreciate having to come to the desk just to give me a refund for the non-working pop machine. The checkout clerk the next morning wasn’t exactly friendly, but she wasn’t what I would call openly unfriendly, either. At least she didn’t make me feel like I was being a cramp in her day like the night clerk.

Breakfast was as expected and fresh. The location was within a half mile of destination. The parking spaces are a decent size of most vehicles. The bed was very comfortable.

Being a paying customer for a room,was disappointed to have to pay for parking even though it wasn't that much. Other than that no other dislikes.
