SureStay Hotel by Best Western Bardstown General Nelson

Overall, I really enjoyed our stay. Nothing super fancy, but everything was on point. Breakfast was pretty alright, some of the options were lackluster at times (ex: overdone biscuits, very mushy eggs) but there were plenty of options to choose from, besides the mini mart almost literally next door. This time our room was next to the laundry room, which was very convenient, and surprisingly quiet despite being by a high traffic area. Our room was very clean, and spacious for the price; staff was very friendly and accommodating at all times. I've stayed here a few times before with family (we're local and sometimes stay for the pool in the summer) and it's always been a good experience. The hotel is also incredibly convenient, being a fairly short walk from downtown. You really can't beat it.

The cleaning staff… there were two different teams.. one was fantastic. The last crew was horrible They made the bed like a 5 year old and the floors were soaked like they did it with a mop straight from the bucket They threw the blanket on the bed in a ball I stayed a a week and they advertise a continental breakfast… it’s far from that there isn’t even a staff member there. I didn’t eat it. I drank the coffee it was tbe cheapest breakfast you could make without everyone computer but we complained to each other about it Overall I’d give the whole stay 2.5 stars

I am a Bardstown native and so happy to see the newly renovated room/s. My last stay there was in 1998, as our wedding reception was held in the building adjacent to the pool, and the rooms then were in need of some cosmetic updates. So I was delighted to find my room was very nice, super clean and tastefully updated. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. For those who might care, the bathroom was also equipped with a bidet. The breakfast buffet, located in the meeting room by the pool, was very nice and had many dietary options. The property's location is steps away from the Stephen Foster Restaurant which has great breakfast and dinner buffets serving delicious southern comfort foods. And is also a short walk to St. Joseph's Proto-Catherdral, and many events such as the Arts & Crafts fair held annually in October.

The noise from street traffic, but that would not keep me from staying there again, nor would it keep me from recommending it to others.

Great motel in a great location!! Conveniently close to many area distilleries. A short walk from the historic downtown area for shopping & restaurants. Comfortable & clean beds and pillows. There is even a bidet attachment on the toilet, a pleasant surprise. The staff was exceptional! Happy to give us recommendations for restaurants and activities. Amanda, who took care of the breakfast room, was very nice & friendly. Sissy, our housekeeper, was our favorite! She was sweet & talkative and took great care of us even though she was busy as the motel was full. And when a wine bottle dropped out of a bag my husband was carrying, she wouldn't even let him help clean it up. Fortunately it was white wine!

Road noise could be a little loud at times, but its never caused us any loss of sleep.

This place was within walking distance of town. The staff at check in gave us a list of Sun/Mon hours since we would be looking for places to eat when the town was pretty much closed. I locked my key in the room and realized it immediately. The cleaning staff was super nice and let me right back in. The breakfast was awesome and the ladies restocking were very sweet, providing recommendations to guests as they worked.

The room was a little small. It fit the purpose of why we were there...sleep! We had a queen room but the beds were more on the small side, but we made due.

The room was very clean and updated nicely. we were on the second floor and there were no elevators so carrying all our stuff up the stairs was a little tricky, but it was only one floor.

They need some different selections for the breakfast every morning. we were there 2 mornings and it was the same thing each morning. The only difference was sausage patties one morning and links the next morning.

The breakfast exceeded our expectations, fresh with a great selection. We had been travelling for more than 2 weeks and made use of the on sight laundry facilities. The coin operated washer and dryer and the laundry room was clean and in perfect condition.

This hotel is in the final stages of a complete update. Our room was in very nice, the bidet attached to the toilet was a nice touch, in fact we ordered one from Amazon to use at home. The only upgrade I’d like to see is a better quality air conditioner that isn’t so loud.

Everything, the cleanliness, the people and the staff are the most awesome people in the industry, the pool is spotless and very well maintained, the rooms are super clean and comfortable, morning breakfast in the gathering room is great and well prepared… front porch are to hangout with other guests is a great experience

We always like everything

The room was clean and comfortable. We liked the lounge chair in the room. The room AC was easily controlled to make the temperature comfortable. The breakfast bar was very clean and spacious. Good selection of foods. There is a nice salt water (no Chlorine) swimming pool.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The room was well taken care of and clean. I could tell the rooms had been upgraded. The breakfast was great as well. Lots to choose from and delicious.

We came during the winter and everything was a bit icy. I was a bit concerned with ice all over the property. I think that could have been maintained better than it was. It was tricky walking around but we made it work. Something to consider for that time of the year.
