Econo Lodge Hays I-70

It was right off of the hwy when I got to town. The guy at the front desk was so nice, he's been there 11 years. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the pillows were awesome. I stay in a lot of hotels while traveling, and this was a great deal. It is also within walking distance of food, the Arby's shares the lot. 😊 There is also plenty of room to pull up in a truck and trailer or motorhome.

Honestly, there's nothing I didn't like. The price, comfort, and location were ideal.

The girl at the desk was nice. Since we are seniors, she found us a room on the first floor. I am allergic to cats, so the room was also pet free. The location was pretty good. We used a GPS to wind around a cemetery and through a subdivision to find Gella's Diner and LB Brewing Company, where we ate a nice dinner.

The breakfast was OK and abbreviated because of COVID, but many people would supplement it. The choices were a small container of yogurt, a piece of fruit, coffee, juice (good) and a so-so granola bar. It was fine for us. There are two floors and no elevator. That was not a problem for us, but it would be a problem for some senior citizens.

The location was good. The room was quiet. Bed was very comfortable and sheets were so soft. Lots of pillows. The outside doors were locked and required a key, so it felt safe. Front desk personnel were very accommodating. Lots of ice in the machine, which is good this time of year. Air conditioning in room was good. Window shades allowed for almost black out light which was good.

The breakfast was continental and due to Covid, just ordinary. Coffee, juice, over-ripe bananas, so-so fruit, packaged everything... The floor in the room was a bit sticky, not sure if that's normal due to high humidity this time of year.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I appreciated having a healthy breakfast each morning. The renovated rooms were comfortable and very clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable. It exceeded my expectations of an Econo Lodge.

The only thing I can recall that could be improved would be a newer a/c room unit.

It was one of the cleanest places I've been in a long time. The room had laminate floors rather than stained carpets like others have. Most everything in the room was in good repair. They have obviously done some refurbishing. The woman who checked me in was very thorough and pleasant to deal with. It was late at night and she had a nice welcoming tone in her voice.

No elevator. The hallway and stairwell had dated carpet and smelt a little musty. One of the wooden stairs needed the wood repaired underneath the carpet. They lacked healthy options at the very limited breakfast. The only healthy thing to eat was a banana.

I've stayed here 4 times now the place is clean and comfortable could use a senior discount though as my husband is a senior

The People standing outside by the cars when you go out to get your stuff for the room and working on vehicles

We had a late check in. Clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was really clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was great, easy to find from highway. Lots of restaurants close by.

Could have had a little more selection for breakfast. But what was there was good and it was free. We had cereal, coffee, juice, and a banana.

The EconoLodge is located in a very convenient location. The room cost is lower than most motels around. The rooms have inside doors which is a great security feature.

The breakfast is rather basic with a very limited selection. The room air conditioner was fairly noisy which made watching TV a difficult task.

Really clean. My room had a recliner chair which was really beneficial. I was dealing with sciatic pain in my hip & leg, and the recliner chair was very helpful in keeping me comfortable. I will definitely stay here in the future.

Good location close to several restaurants. Employees were very nice. Advised us to park car in front so the desk could watch it after we asked about people in parking lot

Older hotel with small rooms. Breakfast choices very limited. Strange people hanging around in back parking lot
