Red Roof Inn Ames

The room was clean and everything was where it should be or at least where you'd expect to find things. The bed was comfortable which was the main selling point. Shower and bathroom size for both better-than-expected and the fit and finish of the room was actually rather impressive for the money spent. Honestly this would be a perfect score in my mind if the facility actually had a full continental breakfast. I'm not going to knock them for offering up a cold bagel with cream cheese or some cereal and milk. However I mean come on I would have gladly had breakfast at the facility and save the money I spent by going to Perkins before checking out if the hotel actually had some decent breakfast items.

Incredibly limited breakfast.

Room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast had quite a few offerings...waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice, bagels, yogurt, etc. I also had a special pricing for this hotel making it about $30.00 cheaper than what I have typically paying at hotels of a similar type this Summer.

Room, clean and satisfactory, nothing fancy but what is needed while in the area. The pet policy is great. Don't always use the pet policy, but when we do it's nice it is not an extraordinary fee like other places.

Beds aren't as comfortable as I would like. The breakfast could be better but during co-vid, it is hard to have a lot of safe options. Could work on updating the outside building and inside rooms.

Very much appreciated that there was no mask requirement. We made the choice to not stay at a place that required them and chose Red Roof Inn instead.

No protein option for breakfast, such as eggs (boiled perhaps) or sausage. Appreciated lots of options- bananas, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, honey buns, bagels, toast, fruit bars. But it was all sweet/carb.

We always stay at the Red Roof Inn when we visit my son who is a college student in Ames. It's conveniently located to his housing (6 minutes), restaurants, and the Interstate. The service is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are always pleasant and clean, and the beds are always comfortable.

There was not anything that I didn't like. I was sad to not see it not fully occupied, but I am sure that was a result of fewer people traveling due to COVID. The nearby hotels also had fewer cars in their lots. I have never found anything at this hotel to complain about.

Appeared to be well taken care of

The property was completely satisfactory but the guests were not. A high school debate team was staying the night and were so loud, running up and down the halls. It was impossible to fall asleep, even after a long drive. It was hard to stay asleep the next morning, too. Those kids were so loud and noisy!!!

Well in the parking lot there were people smoking some kind of drug it smelled and they wanted to talk to us badly when we arrived but we ignored them

Excellent staff. The room was so clean and the bed super comfortable! Linens were soft and comfy. Shower was huge! The property grounds were clean and well kept. And our dog stayed free! Continental breakfast was good! This is the best motel we’ve used in a long time! We got in late and left early, it was perfect. Thank you Red Roof Inn, Ames!

staff was incredible, and facilities were surprisingly amazing! don’t get me wrong, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel, but if you have ever stayed at a Red Roof Inn before, it’s probably not that either. this was pleasantly surprising! definitely would return!

it’s updated and clean, has very comfortable beds, a room with mini fridge and microwave and a decent breakfast. I’ve stayed at many different hotels in the area all at varying levels of accommodations, I’m very happy to have discovered the Red Roof Inn in Ames
