Hilton Garden Inn Evanston

Breakfast was delicious with a variety of hot and cold choices. The fresh fruit offered was excellent. The fitness facility is nicely equipped. Parking at the nearby garage was convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and 1.5 blocks from multi-screen theater. We received daily service to replenish towels, cups, empty wastebaskets and restock coffee supplies. We were welcomed on arrival and received good information regarding parking, meal options and hotel amenities. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Our only challenge was the bed being a little too firm. We didn't experience problems with anything in our room or elsewhere on the premises.

More than decent hotel, clean, with staff overall friendly and helpful, spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Complimentary coffee/tea regularly replaced, and a useful microwave in the room. I didn't try the breakfast, which is paid for separately. Prices are in line for the area. I found this Hilton much better in all respects (personnel, facilities,, cleanliness) than the other Hilton nearby, where I have also stayed a couple of times. If back in Evanston, I will certainly choose the Garden Inn again.

Received excellent service from the staff who were very friendly and helpful during my whole two-week stay. The restaurant was conveniently located and the breakfast buffet was varied. Maria provided excellent service in the mornings. The two dinners we ordered were also very good. My accessibility room was nice and large. The fairly large refrigerator and microwave were very useful for a long stay.

For some reason there was no light switch inside the bathroom and on top of that the door was heavy and closed quickly. Fortunately I did not need to use my wheelchair to enter it. But there definitely need to be light switches inside as well as outside bathrooms.

The property is close the purple line! Nice neighborhood and chilis is across the street! The staff was wonderful! It was a last minute booking and it was nice to get there and be able to relax!

I guess the only thing I would say is that parking isn’t included. The parking garage was right next door but had to pay $18/day to park. For $28/day the hotel will validate and you are able to come and go all day if you want.

The location, room, staff, food, and snack. It’s walk distance from NW university and Lake Michigan. The room is very clean and comfortable. The staff are so friendly. When we need to store our luggage and need information on transportation to downtown Chicago and restaurants around, they provided information very friendly. The food in the hotel are so good and reasonably price. Their snack by check-in desk are good.

It’s a great location in downtown Evanston, also adjacent to much of the Northwestern University campus and a short walk from two major public transit rail lines. The facilities are clean and orderly, and the staff members are superb and very helpful.

The price is a little steep, especially for an off-peak stay. Some of the rooms (ours included) have what can most charitably be described as a nondescript view.

The location was great for me. I liked the easily accessible parking garage, I enjoyed the high-quality room, breakfast buffet, fitness center, and pool area. I'm a former local, so it was nice to be within walking distance of Hecky's BBQ plus the reopened movie theaters.

The charge for the breakfast buffet was a surprise, but worth it. The hot tub's pressure was not intense.

The staff went above and beyond for my family. I expressed that my 2 year old is a light sleep and if they could change our room to a quieter area that did not face the metra train track. The staff delivered, my family was very grateful and pleased by the hospitality. My son was able to sleep peacefully and my husband and I were able to relax with no stress. Thank you 🙏

comical: the microwave was in French. awkward: the accessible shower was nice, however the shower head slid down the pole so it didn’t accommodate someone over 5’ standing to shower hands free. brighten up: the room could have used a second floor lamp by the couch area. with no overhead lighting in the main space, it was hard to sit on the couch and read after the sun went down.

The HGI, Evanston, was the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. I travel regularly for work, and find that even "clean" rooms have a smarminess to them. This room was amazingly clean. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The rooms were very nice. Nothing was broken, or in need of repair.

The kids menu only offered chicken tenders or mac and cheese. The selection could have had a few more items. However we did a delivery service, which was fairly easy. The hotel had a food delivery area set up in the lobby, so that made it super fast. No waiting for the desk or driver. Dropped, grab and go.
