Chateau Elan Winery

Such a beautiful location for a relaxing getaway! Absolutely loved hanging by the pool. It was beautiful and they waited on you with food and drinks. There are games outside like bocce ball, cricket, volley ball, ping pong, life size chess, and corn hole that were free. The bikes were fun too and no up charge! It was nice how many restaurants were on the grounds so you didn’t have to leave. The rooms were big and clean! I love how there were nooks you could find to chill on the first and second floors. Also, the hammocks around the property and in the vineyards were so nice to relax on!

You’re already pay so much a night plus a resort fee and most activities are an additional charge. And not just that, they are super expensive.

There were charging stations for my electric vehicle that was super convenient. The facilities were beautiful and there was wine upon arrival. The hotel restaurant serves a great breakfast and the rooms were spacious and clean.

The cost. I don't think the price paid was equivalent to the quality of the stay.

The room was nice and the bathroom was a great size. It was nice to be able to walk to the restaurants on the property. I enjoyed the champagne at checkin. The food was delicious. Our Sommelier was Maties and he was absolutely amazing and answered all of our questions.

I wish there were more pillows on the beds. I also wish we had been told that the golf course wasn’t on the property. We were given poor directions by spa staff on getting to the golf course. I also wish we had been able to book appointments at the spa, given that was the reason we traveled to the property anyway. There was nothing that led us to believe that we would have needed to book spa appointments more than a month before our stay.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I loved all the lights located around the building. I love how all the restaurants are close enough for walking or you could take the lovely shuttle service. And oh my God the Spa absolutely divine.

The valet service definitely could have been better. they definitely were some morning staff that did not have the same happy and welcoming attitude like the other staffs on the grounds. That sometimes did not leave us with the a nice feel‘s. Especially the Sunday morning chef she was not very welcoming. I also expected when we called down for certain amenities like extra towels for soaps that the front desk usually would send someone up to assist you really right away and you just did not get that here.

Chateau Elan does not offer daily housekeeping service and that was unacceptable to me - especially since they did not indicate that fact at check-in. The front desk people said that most folks don’t expect or want daily housekeeping. But I disagree - at such a beautifully maintained and desirable establishment folks DO want to return to their room with clean towels, beds made and trash emptied- the price one pays and the reputation of this hotel deserve a rightful expectation of the full service experience. Management needs to be in touch with their customers.

Everyone at the Chateau was very nice and professional. The general manager was amazing, including the front desk folks and all the drivers. The restaurant staff was super nice as well.

What I didn't like was all the extra charges on the final bill, including a wine stating fee for $25, and that was irrelevant!!!! We had made reservations for the wine stating room and that was paid prior to our arrival. I also was not happy about all the extra holds they place on our credit card. When we arrived, they put a hold on the original fees plus extra holds for each day and then after that a hold again for other amounts!!!! that was not necessary.

Dinner and wine tasting

EVERYTHING about this property is EXCEPTIONAL. One negative is Catherine in the winery was RUDE!!! My husband LOVES wine, which is why we decided come there for the winery. we were told our wine tasting was scheduled for 7pm. We arrived 10 minutes before 7 only to be told by Catherine that the winery was closed and there was NOTHING she could do. Meanwhile there are people in the winery, talking, sipping wine, and eating. This was the only reason we came here. She was determined NOT to help us. I really wished this went another way.

We enjoyed the unpretentious attitude of guests and staff. Jefferson was our first staff encounter and he started everything off on a great note. Was very impressed with the quality of the food at The Marc. Very pleased that our server was patient and attentive and most importantly was able to successfully relay a few simple particulars to the chef who then produced exactly as requested. Resort is very relaxing with what seemed and endless number of small seating venues all around the property.

If the winery staff explained the colossal difference in a 10 minute breathe in the glass for your wines. I’ve never encountered such a dramatic change in taste and finish in such a short time. Yes, decanters always bring out the winemakers true vision but yours seem to blossom in the glass. We learned to order ahead so we could continue to enjoy those open flavors.

The grounds were beautiful, the staff members were all very nice and accomodating; We ate at four of the on site restaurants and the food was excellent at each of them. Wine tour was excellent!

A fire alarm went off both nights we were there, and each time lasted about 20 minutes. The first night at 5:00 am, and at 12:15 am on the second night, causing us to leave our rooms. Extremely bothersome and never received an explanation (or apology) regarding the incidents

The original room was in a bad location for me to get back & forth the restaurant & pool due to handicap and the staff patiently accommodated me and got me to a room that was perfect which this made my experience although short but rememberable in a positive way and made everything else while I was there nicer from my pov.
