The Surfside Hotel

The staff was more than understanding with our late check in due to traffic and they were very friendly!! The room was very clean and that bed was extremely comfortable 🥰 although the beach area was disappointing, the balcony area/view was very relaxing and we loved the cool seating. Whoever decorated the rooms did an excellent job making you feel at home and on vacation at the same time!

Unfortunately the beach area wasn't that great and thats the only reason we probably wont come back. The sand was rocky and full of shells which was surprising because they advertise "white sandy beach". Dont expect to be able to get into the water either. The bottom half of the beach is full of rocks and seaweed. There aren't many beach stay options up that way so we were surprised that a surf side hotel didnt have a better beach. So basically if your going up north for beaches stick to New Jersey.

As an international traveler I realize that hotel industry is moving to more and more closed circuit design no balconies even no windows that you can open and have fresh air in your room. Hoping to have more hotels like this giving us the chance to feel like at home and to have amazing experiences for a reasonable price.

The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room’s patio was right on a little beach area. There was coffee, muffins, apples and granola bars two rooms over in the coffee bar room. Bikes were easily accessible as were chairs and some paddle boards for the beach/water.

The area is kind of blah. You really only have 2 restaurant dining options in walking distance. There is a good ice cream spot and corner store within a short walk also as well as a pizza place that we did not try. We did have to drive a far amount to go see other towns, which are not really bustling either. mystic is a good hour away and that is a pretty cool town. If you are just wanting to relax and sit on the beach/walk around, then this is the perfect vacation spot.

Great location, great staff, excellent amenities. The staff was super helpful when needed. I loved the free beach bikes.

I could have used a few drawers to put clothing in, instead of open shelves that looked cluttered once my clothing was unpacked. I also would prefer that a bedroom have a door sweep block out the hallway lights and noises at night time, since I'm a light sleeper. The live-edge nightstands are beautiful, but too small and much lower than the bed to be usable. These are nit-picky details, but considering the cost, I feel they could be better.

The location, the atmosphere, the entire staff, how beautifully updated but also beachy, artsy cool and comfortable everything was. We loved the boutique size of the hotel gave everything a personal touch rarely found. The bed was extremely comfortable, with fluffy thick linens, electronic extras, fantastic restaurant and bar called Little Pub, with expansive menu, delicious food and their own Two Roads beer was my favorite. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate helping make arrangements for transportation anywhere we needed to go and everyone we met enhanced the overall trip. Though we had never visited Connecticut the Surfside and locals all felt like home, we didn't want to leave it is such a special place, and special people, a gem, we will return.

Nothing, I loved every moment. From the time of booking and how they kept in touch and offered services to driving us by golf cart, car and shuttle, we could not have asked for more.

The room (we got upgraded) was lovely, so i'm not exactly sure what the room we paid for would have actually looked like. The staff was very helpful and kind and the facilities were very clean and lovely.

We didn't dislike anything - but we did have one comment. The restaurant on premises was very nice, we weren't sure if they were short staffed but they forgot the drink, and took a while before someone came over to us. We weren't in a rush and it was all okay but it I could see that being a little frustrating.

Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, very spacious room with comfortable bed and nice little details and extras. The aesthetic is cute -it’s an old motel revamped and refreshed with a cheeky and casual surf vibe. We stayed here for a 2-day music festival in Bridgeport and they were totally dialed in from having the music of the artists playing throughout the public spaces, to arranging a shuttle service and a little after party on Saturday. They even provided rain ponchos for attendees when the forecast showed a storm. we didn’t take advantage of other amenities like likes and beach yoga, but would happily return for a stay another time and enjoy the place and beach location more fully.

Check in was easy and the young woman Ianna couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She even let us use the hotels complimentary bicycles. Excellent customer service and support.

The onsite restaurant Little pub. Asked 3 different employees what time the kitchen closed and was told 9 pm. Arrived for dinner at 8:25 and was told the kitchen was closed. No attempt to check if an exception could be made or if there was anything they could do to remedy the situation. Employees couldn't care less. Restaurant was the only reason I didn't rate myexperience a10. Hotel and staff great restaurant terrible.

The room was very cute and cozy! Clean and welcoming! The beds very comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from! Love that! The view was nice with a little deck. The restaurant down stairs was convenient and good food. I would stay again for sure!

The noise. We were above the restaurant not sure if it was that. Lots of banging around and no it wasn’t the next room over cause that went on for hours lol but could hear people in the halls for sure. Thank god for my fan app on my phone otherwise we would have never fallen asleep due to the noise!

This was our first time staying at The Surfside hotel and we will definitely be back. The room was appointed beautifully with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The decor was absolutely adorable! The beds were super comfy with more pillows than I ever knew I needed. The gym was a great added amenity. The staff was so sweet and really wanted us to have an enjoyable stay. They were excited to show us all that was available to us such as bikes, complimentary coffee and water station, morning yoga on the beach, chairs and towels, and the food truck and mini local market across the street in the am (the breakfast sandwiches were delicious!!!) We we’re sad that we were only staying for one night. We will definitely be back!
