Location was excellent. Room and facilities were very clean and orderly. Staff (Sara, Anderson, housekeeping) was very accommodating, attentive and very nice. The handwritten note welcoming us was a nice touch. We really do like coming here. Air conditioning worked excellent, Shower/toilet worked perfectly. Two really good restaurants in short walking distance.

Room 213 was said to be quiet. Unfortunately, we could hear our neighbors almost like we were in the same room but a bit muffled. There is no phone in the room which would be convenient to contact the office in my pajamas. Price went up exponentially from the time we started coming here.

We really enjoyed staying at the Tides!!! The location was the best!!! I loved the way the hotel was “hidden” from the main road by the huge green hedge. It allowed privacy for the beautiful pool!! The room was awesome! Having the little kitchenette was a major plus! We loved the comfy bed and the shower was big enough to move around in! Our time in Laguna Beach was fantastic, due in large part to our stay at The Tides!!

The only improvement I would recommend might be a mat of some kind in the shower. The tiles were a bit slippery. There were bars to grab in case of slipping, but a rubber mat would be a good addition!

It was a nice location, near the most important way way in Lacuna Beach. In the room it was quiet.The service is great every day, the women were surprised we don’t want every new towels or bed. Near my daughters house. For Laguna Beach the price was okay. Everything thing in Laguna is for us from The Netherlands very expensive. It’s a bit old interieur but very clean and not to small. Room 105.

What better : the kitchen had nothing to cook with. Shame. We had to go out for diner every day. Don’t understand why. There was place enough. There was a microwave, koffiemachine(great one)fridge. Plates, but no pans and no opportunity to cook. Tip: make a paper throw touwen you don’t want to use again on the floor. It’s better than take everything although I found it nonsense. Not so good for the milieu, and long live of the touwels.

All of my interactions with the front desk personnel were excellent.

I did not care for the location of my room. I realize the room I was given the last one available, but the staircase to get up to the upstairs room at the front of the hotel, is very narrow and steep, and I was not offered any assistance to get my bag up to my room. The room itself was nice but since it's on the street, it's pretty noisy. There were earplugs on the nightstand but I didn't need them because luckily I am a very heavy sleeper. I can see how other people would be displeased with this room.

Good location, friendly and helpful staff (so polite, warm and friendly). Great decor (fun coastal vibe). Kitchenette facilities worked well. All windows and shutters opened so we could let in fresh breezes. Wonderful to be able to pop in and top up on coffee pods and get newspaper in the reception.

Given that it is a vintage building. It would be good to have had a tip for how not to overload the electrics and trip the fuse. As it was we missed out on having the lovely vintage desk lamp working and having the heater working whilst running the microwave. Also would be advisable to secure the beds to the wall so we could prop up in bed without the beds skating out from the wall.

Beautifully appointed room, comfortable beds, crisp lovely bedding. The staff was very helpful at check-in, when we found our heater wasn't working and when we found the hair dryer wasn't working.

The pillows are that foam stuff - eww! At least one fluffy pillow per bed would be nice. The fill in the decorative pillows was perfect. The room smelled strongly of bleach or cleaners. We had to air the room out for about an hour to breathe in there. Housekeeping made up our room nicely every day which we appreciated but didn't like that they gave us fresh towels every day - isn't there a water shortage?!

I could see the beach from the property, it was literally across the street. Our room was great, the main room with the bed was large, there was a separate area for changing attached to the bathroom, and there was a small kitchenette that had a full size fridge, sink, cabinets, a Keurig coffee maker with some pods to use. Also, the kitchenette had silverware, coffee cups, dishes.....enough for one or two people, it was an expected treat and pleasure to use. The room itself was EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN, I could not find a speck of dirt anywhere in our room. Housekeeping personnel are amazing and it shows in the quality of cleanliness of the room I stayed in. The pool looked great and the entire property is well taken care of on a daily basis. This is a charming property that is close to many attractions in Laguna Beach whether you walk or drive. For me it was the perfect location and easy to find day or night. I will definitely be coming back for many years! Thank you to everyone that made our stay exceptional in every way!

To be honest, I did not like that I had to leave. I felt at home at this property, I am very happy I chose The Tides in Laguna Beach for my visit.

This is a great place if you have proper expectations. It's a beachy kind of motel style place. Not new or modern but quaint and efficient. The best thing is the location - walkable to Heisler Park (the nicest part of Laguna Beach), "downtown" Laguna and the beach. We were very warmly greeted by Anderson and he was so kind in suggesting places to eat, asking us questions - so personal unlike your standard hotel chain. Definitely a shout out to Anderson for making us feel so welcome. We loved that there was a very nice sized mini fridge, microwave, plates, mugs, glasses, silverware for 2. Thankful for a parking spot we didn't have to pay extra for. Oh, and old fashioned keys! Almost retro these days. Also appreciated the bottles of water waiting for us! We had a thank you card waiting for us in our room - hand written! Nice touch. For the price in this area, we were very happy with our choice.

You must be aware this is basically on PCH - a busy highway. Most of the rooms are behind the parking so a little removed from the road but some are ON the highway - noisy for sure. There are little things that need attention - for example the toilet paper holder was not secure and if not careful the roll would fall off and onto the floor. The shower head was also not secure and when I tried to aim it it started to slide sideways. Some of the items show their age - but nothing that surprised us for the kind of lodging it is.

Everything went well! The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff was very accessible, friendly & helpful. There was a delightful welcoming note in the room when we got there. We will stay there again!

We didn't find out we could have asked for a hot plate until right before we left. The microwave & fridge worked out well, though. The only weird thing was that the plates in the room were not microwave safe - and the microwave was the only heating device in the room.

We have stayed in this hotel before, although that was pre pandemic. Still a great place to stay in Laguna as it is only a 5 minute walk to the shops and main beach. There is also a lovely cliff top walk through the gardens a 2minute walk away. Room was very comfortable and there is a pool at the property. The reception were extremely helpful when we arrived.

The hotel doesn't do breakfast which I normally try to get when I'm booking but the other factors at this property such as price, location and parking make this the place we book for Laguna. There are places nearby for breakfast though.
