The B&B is a beautiful historical building with lots of ambiance. When we came back from dinner, the player piano was playing. It was so awesome. Our bedroom was large enough for four people and we enjoyed a shared outdoor balcony. We spent a lot of time out on the balcony watching people and vehicles go by while reading about the history of Georgetown on my cellphone. A very relaxing experience in which the whole family enjoyed. Kids aged 22 and 17.

Our bedroom was facing Main Street. It was a bit noisy from vehicle and truck traffic. It didn't bother us as it was part of the overall ambiance!

Georgetown California is an oft-missed, small, gold rush-era town, just a gorgeous one-hour drive into the mountains from Sacramento. The beautiful Inn itself is an architectural and esthetic gem, filled with professionally curated world-class art adorning its spacious halls and walls to create a truly one-of-its-kind destination. From the moment of check-in, during the lovely breakfasts, and even when checking-out, the host and staff are exceptional: attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I'll certainly go back!

There's nothing about the American River Inn to dislike!

The location is beautiful, the house itself is a monument, it is incredibly well decorated, you’re transported in the mid-18th century, the personnel is great and very welcoming. We loved the cheese and wine hour and breakfast was plenty and included. Parking was also easy.

The beds are terrible! This was our second time, and we were hoping for a better one, but since this is our second time, it looks like there are all like that. However, we probably will come back and take a Tylenol!

The facility was as described and was very clean. The furniture was all comfortable and the breakfast provided was tasty. From what we could see of the other guest rooms, all were beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated. The grounds were very clean and well-groomed.

This facility is older. The staircase was quite steep for my mom. The request for our rooms to be on the same level could not be honored because only one guest room is on the first level. Most of the things that were not liked by my traveling companions were: the darker lighting, the toilet in the private bathroom did not flush toilet paper, and the locking system for the doors. Some more modernizations would have been nice: the option for tv or more modern plumbing.

This is the most wonderful lodging I have ever experienced in my 68 years on this earth. The decor was gorgeous, so varied, so comfortable, so welcoming. I must have taken 40 photos with my cellphone to share with my friends and family. The whole place was immaculate. The back garden was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The hostess, Jeanine, was gracious and accommodating. I felt guilty paying so little for such a marvelous guesthouse. I cannot adequately find the words to express how fabulous this bed and breakfast is and how much I enjoyed my stay.

Zero.

The bed was very comfortable, room was clean and free evening popcorn plentiful. The dining room had all the necessary condiments right on the table. Staff was very attentive, whisking dishes away as soon as guests finished and carefully cleaning up when the tables vacated.

It’s a bit farther walk than anticipated to get to the brewery across the street. definitely not a dealbreaker though.

Charming historical inn with a lot of character. Friendly staff. The innkeeper waited for us till 9:30pm, when we finally arrived after a long drive. Very clean and comfortable room. Lovely old-style bathtub. Delicious breakfast!

I booked the Standard Queen Room but the confirmation said Queen Room with Shared Bathroom. The innkeeper did put us in the standard queen room when we checked in, but described it as a free upgrade, when the booking site showed the two were the same price. This is not her fault though - there must be a glitch in the booking system flow.

We loved the homely feeling to this place, it was welcoming and perfect location for our plans.

The bed was very uncomfortable unfortunately, pillows were very flat and the room had no AC. So it did get uncomfortably hot. We did spend evenings in our room and the only place to sit was the bed, so we did get sore after so long

Loved the old fashioned escape from modern technology. They serve good coffee and a filling, balanced breakfast. The service team is sweet, but be willing to go with the flow. Love the antiques and the setting of Georgetown. Definitely off the beaten path and peaceful.

The overall, relaxed-feeling environment. Everyone was way easy going. Nice people.

Only thing I didn't like was the fact that we had to share bathrooms with other guests. Even with at least a half dozen different ones available between all the floors, there was still a couple occasions that I had to pee and every one of them was locked and occupied.
