Inn at Depot Hill

Breafasts of Cinnamon french toast and Eggs Bennedict were superb. The staff was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL. I did not realize the Inn was so historic - old train depot and one of the first structures in town. LOVELY VICTORIAN feel. I stayed in two different rooms and the larger, more modern and more expensive one held less charm for me but had ALL the touches of a chic modern hotel complete with flat screen fire piece under the TV, and a small patio. Did not love the drunk partiers in town for the Warf to Warf run litterally stumbling in late, but that is my bad for not realizing the run was that weekend. Peggy and Sager took EXCELLENT care of me and Sager's puppy brightented my day. The gronds have a small decorative pool, lovely vegetation and outdoor furniture and the living room has old world charm. It made it tough to choose to hang out in the Inn or go to the beach!

I prefer a softer bed but I know most people don't. It was a FINE, NORMAL mattress. I am just a softie.

The Japanese room was beautiful and peaceful. wonderful tub. Having breakfast served in room was lovely.

Quite pricey for no views of sea. The wine and cheese selection was not great (cheap wine and cheese) considering price. The staff were friendly but we had a not great experience when one of the staff called after we checked out and told us we hadn’t returned one of the keys and they would hang on to our room deposit until we sent back the key. I told him I distinctly remember leaving the key in the room but he insisted it wasn’t there. I felt stressed about this as I knew I left key in the room as advised. Staff person called later and said they found the key under a robe when cleaning the room. I don’t know why given the high price that they would call to harass us about not returning the key before they cleaned the room. All in all, though, we loved the room and would probably return.

Beautiful property. Managers at check in and check out were exceptional! Appreciated wine and cheese at check in. Small touches like the fireplace on, music on the TV and the room opened ( patio doors open) up was so welcoming. Loved the old school type key to open rooms . Loved being able to eat in the room. Cart was so cute and breakfast was good.

I felt for the price of the room the quality of the toilet paper and sheets should have been a lot better.

It is quiet, comfortable and close to the beach so it is easy to relax and enjoy some down time. It is not too far from home (but the drive over the hill is getting worse). It was easy to book at the last minute. The wine and cheese was a nice touch in the evening. Breakfast in the room made us feel special.

The limited parking and steep drive way transitions (my car is low and would scrape - so that is not too unusual).

We liked that the room opened out into the patio. At times it seemed we were the only ones there and that was our patio with fountain and chairs for us alone. An excellent breakfast delivered to our room at the time we had prearranged the day before. Sager was always respectful and ready to answer questions we had.

We could not find enough light in our room to read at night. We were surprised that there was no refrigerator to put left over food from the restaurants we frequented. A few of the curtains were torn and needed replacing. The area around the fountain could be spruced up a bit. For instance, adding more black rocks to fill trough level with the brickwork and cleaning up around fountain equipment.

Beautiful accommodations, we stayed in the Capitola Beach room. Plush linens, spacious suite, quiet place close to town, and Capitola beach. We had dinner reservations and called Shadowbrook and their car came to pick us up, so we were able to leave our car at the Inn and not have the inconvenience of looking for parking, which is usually limited to 3 hours. We stayed overnight for my husband's birthday and both agreed we would stay again.

The pillows are really flat. I'd suggest bringing your own if you are sensitive to a particular height for a good night's rest.

The breakfast was served hot and fresh each morning, and arrived promptly at our door. It was more than enough for me and my mother, and we enjoyed everything from start to finish. Moreover, extra accommodations were made for my mother to ensure her dietary needs/restrictions were met.

There’s nothing to complain about. I had a fabulous time, and ‘The Inn at Depot Hill’ is truly an exceptional and special place.

We had a perfect weekend staying in this B&B. Super location - you can walk everywhere you would want in a couple of minutes. We stayed in the Paris room which was fabulous - 2 way fireplace, sitting area, nice bathroom with lots of counters and the french doors open directly onto a beautiful patio. We had several friends over in the afternoon for drinks and apps on the patio! Manager was awesome and gave us some extra wine glasses. Manager is super helpful & just a very nice person. We can't wait to go back!

Absolutely gorgeous room and house! Sparkling clean, met all our needs. Excellent location!!

Parking was a bit tight. We ended up scratching our car a bit to fit into the only spot left one evening when we got back. Additionally, it was difficult to get warm water in the shower. It was either steaming hot or cold/lukewarm which made showering challenging and unpleasant.

My friend of 60 years and I took a California coast road trip. What a wonderful place! Even though It was a little above our budget, we decided to stay an additional night. Peggy and the manager were great. So great that we want to live there. Peggy, we will definitely be back. Party On!!!
