El Rancho Motel

I like that this motel hasn't changed much in character since it's inception. A little rougher around the edges and a little worse for wear but functional and a classic. I have stayed at the El Rancho 4 times in the last 7 years and 4 or 5 nights each time, around the beginning of June. Each unit was a single queen size bed. There are various levels of amenities based on room selection. The rooms were spacious enough for my gear and always clean. The beds were comfortable enough for a good nights sleep and the area is fairly quiet. I like the location which makes it convenient and walkable to everything in town. The people working there have always been pleasant and accommodating. Since I was gone early morning until to early evening the basics is all I needed.

The only rather minor inconvenience is the small parking spaces. I wasn't able to park my medium size SUV in the designated space because it was a corner space and could not fit between the two parked cars on either side. The exterior space of the motel could use a little TLC but I know they are working on it. There was what looked like an abandoned/unused car parked there taking up a space, the patio furniture could use an upgrade and some cosmetic improvements would help the aesthetics. This last visit the neon sign was not working or was not turned on. The sign is a great classic neon sign and provides a lot of ambience at night. On the last couple of stays there room service missed a day each stay.

The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well. There were a variety of plates, pots and pans, and utensils to use in the kitchen.

I had a problem with the lighting. Apparently the maintenance person didn't have the parts to fix it so he was supposed to come back the next day. I stayed for two nights and the light was not fixed by the time I checked out. The stove was a little small and cramped to cook on but I managed. The kitchen could use a remodel to make better use of the space. There could be a few more shelves or something nearer the stove for spices and such.

The outside (vintage sign, old style courtyard motel) doesn't represent the sweet, clean, stylishly redone rooms. Very simple spaces made into cute and comfortable rooms. Great plumbing, new floors, french country colors, nice fixtures.

At first glance the property looks sad, but I assume it's in process of being renovated to match the nice room interiors.

It was conveniently located but off the beaten path. The room was clean with cute and simple decorations. And the bed was comfortable.

The toilet did not flush well. We left a message but didn't hear back from the front desk.

Perfect location...served our needs well as I have stayed here several times over many years... Great location as the best bakery in the area is one block away... Awesome! Room always meets my expectations...

Shower could have been cleaner...

Location was great, area was quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Crystal the housekeeper was excellent and most helpful. She stepped in to register us and get us in our room. The refrigerator was not working and she had it quickly switched out.

No one was there to check us in, we called 3 numbers and got no response. Thankfully Crystal was able to assist us.

Christina the manager is so awesome and caring! She made sure herself we were taken care of above and beyond! Definitely would stay here again! Friendly and clean!

Location a little dark but safe

The employee (I wish I could remember her name!) Was awesome... very friendly and accommodating. The small, comfortable property was just right. My dog enjoyed the yard! The location was just right. I have a preference for privately owned small motels versus chain hotels. The beds were comfy, too!

Nothing.

Despite its age, the room was clean, the bathroom has new fixtures and floor, refrigerator and TV worked just fine. Quiet location off the main highway, WIFI worked well. Bed was comfortable, variety of pillows.

Easy check-in, cute, clean room, walking distance to downtown shops, quiet, dog-friendly

AC didn't work at night. It worked great during the day but even though we turned it down real low, it never came on at night. The ceiling fan didn't work, either, and it didn't seem safe to leave windows open all night (they don't stay open anyhow). So with 2 adults and 2 large dogs, the room was exceedingly hot and stuffy all night long. For some reason, the AC didn't work in the morning, either.
