Novotel Wolverhampton City Centre

I booked this budget hotel to stay over and watch a local concert. My expectations were low as a no frills experience to merely rest my head. However from the get go, the experience was far more pleasurable from the get go. From the extremely accommodating receptionist who was beyond helpful and really enhanced the stay (offering a deal to ensure parking and breakfast). The surroundings of the lobby and restaurant were far better than what was to be expected and extremely stylish and modern. The room itself very spacious and comfortable. Every single interaction, no matter how small, with a member of staff was excellent. Due to frequent use of hotels, as a result of my partner work, I have a good breath of experience with hotels. I would even say that my stay in this hotel far exceeded more higher banded costed hotel that I stayed in recently. The breakfast before checking out was just simply excellent. The layout and the cleanliness of the restaurant and food serving area. Exceeded my expectations. And the quality of the food was extremely high. I don’t remember the last time having such a good breakfast buffet.

There isn’t anything that I can cite that was a poor quality

The location is excellent, the staff are really friendly and really professional.

We had a two night stay, on the morning of checking out, another guest from another room opposite us, come back very drunk, and we were woken up at 6am, hearing him screaming down the phone, that he couldn't get into his room, he then began to try and kick the door down, this went on for about half an hour, myself and my husband had to get up, as we opened the door the man was laying down in the middle of the corridor, we had to go downstairs to the reception, and complain. It really did spoil the end of our stay.

The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. One guy in particular that was extremely pleasant and helpful worked the morning shift I wished I had taken his name (He printed out a document for me) which was a life saver. Also breakfast was amzing again friendly staff and Clean rooms.

The standard double was comfy. However, my children sofa bed was not great. I had to switch with them, and could see why they did not like it. I could feel the springs and it was extremely hard to sleep on which made is unrelaxing and I comfortable to sleep.

From the time we arrived till the time we left everyone was so nice and pleasant to us and couldn.t do enough to help us. The receptionist was very nice to us when we arrived, and as we didn't get our train today till 12.37pm the receptionist asked us if we would like tea or coffee which we accepted a lovely latte and sat in the reception area. The breakfast staff were so lovely as well and very helpful. We have stayed several times already, but this time it all just seemed to be so much nicer. Unfortunately we were down at a relatives funeral, but it made everything so much better staying at the Novotel.

Nothing, can't think of anything

Price. Family room booked just a week earlier for just 1 night (Saturday / Sunday which in most of the places is most expensive time of the week) was in reasonable price £90. Good size family room. Iron board and iron in the room. Separate toilet and bathroom. Good communication. I have got an email a few days before my stay if l need a sofa bed (l have booked for myself and 3 kids). Friendly reception staff. Close to railway station, 5 minutes walk, it was important for me.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Novotel and I must say it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming smile. The rooms were spacious, clean.The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend the Novotel.

Everything was excellent

Four minute walk from the station and five to my client's off - most of the guests were there for business reasons. Good s-zed room, spotlessly clean, excellent staff, restaurant food tasty and good value rather than fine dining, breakfasts brilliant whether you're a fan of fruit & Greek yogurt or fried bread & black pudding. I'll stay again

The decor in the rooms is a little tired and it's a city centre location so quite noisy - don't stay if you want it countryside-quiet!

Room was of excellent size bed bathroom and toilet met expectations. The soundproofing of the room was exceptional you would never know there was a traffic island surrounding the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and staff service brilliant.

The safe in the room was not available which was a major inconvenience. One dressing gown provided was not enough for two adults sharing and after requesting a second gown one never appeared. The high sided bath was unbelievably high you would never be able to recommend to anyone with restricted movement to stay in room 255. You should also supply more than two sachets of coffee for a 24 hour stay.

The breakfast was lovely with a good range of food. Also, the restaurant for the evening meal was very nice for the evening that we decided to eat there. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and welcoming.

The hotel was very over-priced for 3 stars. Also, free parking would have been a big selling point considering the ample parking spaces available. Staff on the front desk were not so friendly unfortunately and didn't seem happy to assist.

The hotel did what it said on the tin - clean, good sized room, excellent choice at breakfast and crucially, was within walking distance of Wolverhampton centre. The staff however were exceptional - professional, friendly, helpful and a great sense of humour.

Nothing really. Maybe some bird-feeders/ flowers/ something of interest in the space next to the breakfast area. Seems a decent sized space and could be good to have breakfast outside…albeit once a year!
