The George B&B

The room although small was clean and well decorated. The breakfast served was very good, lots of variety with both cooked and ceareal. The George is pet friendly, so was able to take the dog, even gave her a bag of treats on arrival. The owner and staff were all lovely.

As it was a busy time in Weymouth at the time, it was the ironman competion there was very limited accomodation available, the room we had at the George was with a shared bathroom which is something I would not have considered normally, but as it turned out apart from not being in the room it worked very well with the other people who shared it

Very clean, Dog friendly, EXCELLENT breakfast, parking. Reasonably close to Weymouth beach (15min walk) Reasonably priced! Very welcoming and attentive new owner Mike, The lady helping at breakfast was also very helpful and personable.

New owner Mike resolved this very quickly by offering alternative, and confirmed the showers have been fixed/replaced on the day we checked out, The Quadruple room we were in had a broken/loose door knob and the shower temperature was kettle hot and so cannot be used to shower. When informed, the new owner mike responded very quickly and let us use another bathroom in the property which was very big and clean. All in all not a big issue as there’s an alternative but stay could have been perfect without this.

Very close to beach & town centre. Staff were amazing. X-box in guest communal area was a great touch. My boy thought it was ace and kept him entertained whilst we were getting ready to check out.

We mean these as suggestions/improvements. Nothing here to stop us staying again. Decor…..wall paper falling off walls in room. Toilet hard to flush. Husband ended up unblocking it. He’s a plumber and explained not enough water going through it that’s why it was constantly getting blocked. Not enough lighting where mirror was placed to se to get ready. More plug sockets needed.

The breakfast was really nice with a large cooked breakfast and unlimited toast. Selection of fruit,Cereal and yoghurts on offer too. The room was really clean and was a good size. We were on the top floor and it was nice and quiet. The staff were really welcoming,friendly and helpful. The location is great with only a short walk into Weymouth. There is also an ample car park to the front which is a bonus too.

The bathroom was extremely small but that's it. For a couple of nights it was absolutely fine.

We were very happy with this hotel. The location, though not totally central, is close enough to be easy walking distance, and it is great to have a place to park the car. The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped with lots of small friendly touches. Breakfast was generous.

I feel the breakfast style is just a little too "old style" (the usual range of cereals, the cooked breakfast complete with hash browns, baked beans, tinned tomatoes etc) without any nod to more recent breakfast favourites such as granola, muesli or porridge.

Had an excellent stay at the George. Mike & the team were very accommodating. The room was very clean , beds comfortable. Was able to bring our dog . Had a lovely breakfast the next morning. Everything was done to make sure our stay was the best possible which it was. Will definitely return another time we decide to go to Weymouth.

Our stay wasn't long enough!

The cooked breakfast was amazing. Staff were friendly. The owner Mike was very hospitable and let us keep our car parked on the premises for the day after checkout whilst we the Weymouth 70.3 Ironman was on the go - saved us the expense of looking for parking elsewhere.

The bed was a bit small for a double and my partner said he wasn't comfortable with the mattress. I on the other hand slept like a log. So I guess it down to preference.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. Location was very good.Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again.

The light in our room was very dim. There was no soundproofing so we could clearly hear the guests upstairs quite a lot during the evening/night (they were not noisy) and they could also hear us(my child used the toilet in the night and it woke the guests upstairs). But I understand that the building is old and soundproofing might not be an option.

The owners really are putting a lot of effort in making the B&B the best. A friendly welcome with some helpful instructions by the owner. Cooked breakfast to your choice served in 2 time slots to suite everyone’s need. The room was nicely and modern decorated, had all supplies you need for your stay plus extras in case you forgot to pack bring something along yourself. Coffee, tea, sweats, biscuits all provided. Parking on-site and convenient located at walking distance from the beach, town centre and old harbour. Family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We all enjoyed the stay at the George B&B.

the bunkbed was a bit squeaky for the 2 teenagers who rolled over frequently.

I had a very comfortable stay at The George in a room at the top of the property with a small en suite bathroom. Good off street parking, and only a short walk down to the sea front. The cooked breakfast was large and very good I appreciated the fan provided as the room was a little hot when I stayed. I would be happy to stay there again.

The ticking clock was slightly annoying so I had to put it in the cupboard overnight to muffle the sound. It was difficult to fill the large kettle because it would not fit under the tap in the small sink. The stairs were steep to the top floor which was not a problem for me, but might have been an issue for other people.
