Wakefield Limes Lodge

My room was large, with plenty of space. It was clean and welcoming on arrival. The shower was excellent always with hot water available. I asked for a room away from the motorway (M62) to keep noise to a minimum - when the windows were closed I could not hear the motorway at all. Unfortunately, it was a hot week with the weather so I had to have the windows open, so the sound of the motorway was distracting. There was free parking and free wifi both were very good. My highlight was the staff, who were all present, kind, and full of smiles.

Be aware at the moment the hotel is being redecorated, so whilst the rooms are fresh and clean, there is a strong smell of paint. Unfortunately, there was no food available at the hotel, and the local restaurants do not offer the best selection of food. It is a good 15 - 20 min drive to get some clean, healthy good food. Whilst my bed was large, the mattress was very poor quality, also it was two singles pushed together - not ideal.

Stayed in Wakefield as catching up with friends before they went off to Australia. The Wakefield Limes was a good choice. Stayed in main building. Nothing too much trouble. Staff friendly and welcoming. It was clean. Not able to comment on food as ate out.

Only very tiny issue was due to the heat and being right by the motorway. I was not able to keep window open. Might be an option, if there was a fan in a room. However, there was no staff to ask so it might have been available. Weather is unpredictable. It did not spoil my stay.. Would stay there again. 😀

Georgie was amazing, from the start she was polite professional and efficient. Made me feel at home as I arrived alone while waiting for my partner. She is an asset to the lodge. The place is ideal, the rooms are clean and tidy. The bed is huge even in the standard. It's a real find and will definitely stay again.

Only negative, that we had a front upstairs bedroom and we had the window open so the sound from the M62 was quite loud, but that's all. Next time I'd ask for an inter room at the back maybe. Everything else was perfect.

The location of the Hotel is ideal. The room was nice and roomy with a great shower. The Manager, Francesca, was extremely helpful and friendly with a very good knowledge of the local area. We will certainly be using this Hotel again when in the locality.

Would have liked the Bar to have been better stocked and open longer, although it was appreciated that post-covid lockdown there are staffing problems which can only get better in time. The final "icing on the cake" will be when the breakfast situation reverts back to normal, which I was assured would be as soon as possible.

Second time we've stayed here so we knew what to expect. It didn't disappoint. The staff are lovely - friendly, attentive without smothering you and welcoming. The rooms/hotel is clean, tidy and as described on the website. Communications from the hotel prior to out visit were brilliant. They'd had issues with their heating but fully explained things prior to our visit and made sure we were still happy to stay. In the end it didn't matter anyway as every thing had been resolved by the time we arrived. Most hotels wouldn't have even bothered to flag up the pissible issue. Francesca and all of the staff at the hotel care, and it shows. The continental breakfast was varied and ample but extra toast was available and the staff happy and willing to provide it. An easy, friendly place to stay and would have no hesitation in visiting again.

The, current, continental breakfast had a good old selection and the unlimited, hot, coffee was very appreciated The hotel was really clean throughout and very covid conscious. Plenty of hand sanitizer - everwhere :-) The staff were lovely too - Deb - was really welcoming, helpful, informative about the hotel and local amenities. AND funny. Thank you :-) Our room, with a bath AND shower, was plenty big enough for the two of us and, like the rest of the hotel, was spotless. The complementary biscuits/tea/coffee and chilled (mini fridge in room) bottled were replenished daily.

Nothing. Really. Absolutely nothing.

Perfect location for us on main Leeds-Wakefield Road. Extremely friendly staff. Easy access. Spacious rooms with amenities such as tea/coffee and mini fridge. Very close to several food places and also there's a co-op mini market about a mile down the road.

No A/C so depending on your room, if you open window, you get some noise from M62 motorway. Other people mentioned breakfast but we never saw that option during our stay (maybe due to covid / lack of staff).

STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE THE ROOM WAS LOVELY AND EASY ACCESS TO MAIN MOTORWAY

ONLY MY COFFEE TRAY WAS SERVICED THEY OVERLOOKED MY BATHROOM BIN FOR THE WEEK AND I RAN OUT OF TOILET TISSUE AS THIS WAS NOT CHECKED AND NO FOOD FACILITIES AS THEY HAVE CLOSED RESTAURANT SO NO BAR OR FOOD I MAYBE TOLD ON CHECK IN. MAYBE BOOKING .COM IN NARRATIVE COULD HAVE MENTIONED IT BUT TO BE HONEST I DIDNT CHECK ON BOOKING

There were just 2 things that kept it from 10... I love a cooked breakfast - the continental offering did not hit my winter spot. (It did say in the booking it would be continental, I was hoping that was seasonal.) I had room 6 which was due my mobility issues. This was the right choice- only thing missing for me - a hook in the bathroom! As the door was a sliding one, a hook above the shower chair would have been ideal. There were more plug points than expected, and tea tray replenished. I didnt have the cleaners in during my stay. I was sleeping alot. But the breakfast lady checked on my needs.

Room was very clean and I felt safe (covid). Water, shampoo etc all provided. Very large and comfortable bed. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Special shout out to Jade who was incredibly friendly. Plenty of parking.

Please note - these are NOT complaints: I would have liked a few more drawers to put shirts/underwear etc (there was one at ground level). Although we had a chuckle about it, I ideally would have liked the grubby sock removed from the smoke detector after pointing it out on arrival, it was still there three days later on departure. Right on top of the M62 motorway (had to close window at night) - BUT I WAS aware of the proximity when booking to be fair.
