Days Inn Taunton

Loved the size of the room, it was very quiet in the countryside, and it doesn’t have a shower but a bath which is what I love personally. I am not a shower fan. It’s an en-suite bathroom and is big. A big double bed in the room. An opportunity for increased growth for local supermarket or market plus public transport could be here. A desk available for doing anything remotely.

The lack of public transport to get here put me out financially, it would have been better to stay in the town. Roadchef and garage prices extortionate, no proper healthy food options. Automated where it was tricky to get a receipt from MacDonalds. Staff are reliant on their own transport via a motorway only. Trekking through with large luggage in countryside is not an option. I do not blame the inn for that, but I did not realise the difficulty of getting here was a little unrealistic, but an awesome quiet stay. Tinnitus with plug points by bedside.

I was really pleasantly surprised. We paid £49 for a room with a double and a single in it. The Bedding was clean. Bed was comfortable. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and sugar sachets in the pot. The shower was the best I've had in years, the water pressure is high, and you get a really envigorating shower to wake you up in the morning! The young lady on reception was really bubbly and friendly..she actually looked like she was happy to be there. My initial thought when we booked was I just need a clean bed.. but this really exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it.

The bottle of body wash/shower gel was empty, and one of the mugs hadn't been washed properly, Minor issues, though.

Booking it on the wrong side of the M5 and the 8 miles as the crow flies distance, which in my head is 10, 12 quid taxi ride, was in fact a 32 mile taxi ride at 27 quid each way as it was up one side the M5 and down the other, had a chat with the wife and I drove 😏 all I say is check what side ya on people! PS I was going to the brew house theater in Taunton, from the days Inn at Taunton Deane services.

The staff were very friendly on the check in desk, and helped as I thought I pressed a cot but I didn’t. They let me use one anyway. The bed was comfy, the tea and coffee was a nice touch & the big tv!

The shower seemed to only run boiling hot water. It was almost impossible for us to have a shower at all. Could have used a few more milk sashes as there wasn’t enough for a morning tea. And I got bit by something.

The room was spacious clean and tidy. Minium noise.from the m5 Liked the 11am checkout was a stop over ready for bultins the next day break the journey up. Food courts in the area wad resaonable priced..

Not enough tea coffee milk etc in the room but was given more when I asked. People coming and going too loud and no consideration with people trying to sleep. I had an 11 year old with me but other families didn't have a quiet consideration for me my son was asleep by 10 and awake at 9 some kids still running about at 2am.

The price was so cheap for an overnight stay. Staff were polite and I was expecting the worst when reading the reviews. However, was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff supported with early check-in because we had an event to attend and there was facilities in the room. So no complaints here.

There was nothing that I can report.

Room a bit tired in places. Chair in room not very comfortable. Broken window lock although nobody could get in due to a plastic wire holding it semi open. Bathroom sink had no plug. Could be a safety rail to help people get up off the toilet thatr have difficulties with their legs. One mattress very hard on single bed and double bed was quite soft. the desk that ran along and held tv was very stained needed a good fresh coat of paint. So sad rooms a bit tired.

Just the above comments were a dissapointment really

We arrived at 3 am (in the early hours of 17 June) and had been treated as a 'no show' for a check in 16th June as it was so late but the receptionist was so helpful when we finally arrived. In the morning (ie later on 17 June), the manager was very helpful in sorting out breakfast vouchers even though we were not on the 'system' (because we were 'no shows'). For us our stay was just an essential 'pit stop' but the staff on shift throughout our visit were very friendly and helpful and it cheered me up and it was a very nice experience.

Very easy to book online and fast communication with reception, booked last minute as our flight into Bristol was delayed late at night and the weather wasn’t great so didn’t want to travel over night and in the wind and rain. Price really good for 1 night stay, bed super comfy, rooms are quiet at night , everything you need in the room

Nothing not to like about it!

Comfortable bed and slept well. Bathroom facilities good. Also as at services there are dining options available such as McDonald’s. Atgthe end of the day we just needed somewhere to stop over while travelling and this do the job.

Maybe a small point but could do with a little interior decorating on paint work to make it look nicer, but didn’t affect the stay in any way.
