A lovely B&B which was beautifully clean and welcoming. Our room was well appointed and had everything needed. Our hosts were very friendly and breakfast was tasty. The location was ideal for our trip and overall I would happily recommend a stay.

Nothing at all.

House was absolutely spotless and the host was very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and quiet and home cooked breakfast was lovely.

Not much tbh just a tiny piece of constructive criticism , the hosts had just installed a new water feature in the garden which reflected the sun into our room with a flickering effect but to be fair they had only just installed it and said they would alter its position slightly, so not a complaint just an observation. Other than that perfect. Attention to detail in the room was amazing even down to colour co-ordinated bubblebath. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended.

On arrival, Viv makes you feel at ease straight away and provided with a key to the front door. I was shown to my room, on this occasion I booked a single room. The room was tidy and clean, bright white towels on the bed, and a small bedside table with lamp, clock and remote for TV. The TV is possibly 20" - 24" but perfect for this room as anything bigger would look out of sorts. Next the TV opposite the bed you have Tea, coffee, bottle of water, and biscuits. The bed is clean and comfortable. An option to have main lights in the room, or above your bed as well as bedside. Clock on bedside illuminates to the ceiling when you hand hovers near the clock (movement sensor). The room is basic but very comfortable. Just outside the room you have a bathroom, which is beautiful. It has a large / deep bath with combined shower option. Sink with mirror directly above, and toilet. Very clean. This is a shared bathroom - however this was not a problem for me. Breakfast is between 7am and 9am and served downstairs in the lounge with open plan kitchen / dinner. Viv kindly asked what I would like for breakfast and at what time. I had a full English breakfast, toast and coffee. a fabulous breakfast. The drive holds 3 cars at ease. This location is 10 min walk from the Three Hammers, or 3 min drive. Easy to walk to should you require an evening meal. There is also a local Co-op store next to the Three Hammers with ample parking spaces.

The property itself is beautiful. The decor and furnishings are modern, yet it has a cottage feel with our room overlooking a perfectly manicured garden. The house is spotlessly clean and the owner, Viv, had thought of everything from bath robes, ample soft towels, coffee and tea making facilities including biscuits which were much appreciated after a night out in St Albans. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I am sure you can easily walk into St Albans but we were attending a function so we got a taxi which cost £5. We would definitely recommend this property.

On arrival Viv was so welcoming and helpful. My single room was perfect and had everything I needed. The whole house is spotlessly clean. Fortunately for me the room next door was unoccupied so I had the shared bathroom to myself. The bed was very comfortable and I slept extremely well. Breakfast was gorgeous and set me up for the day. St Albans is a lovely small city. I enjoyed the cafe culture, independent shops and the cathedral. I got a train to London Bridge and had a wonderful day out, including a river trip to Greenwich on an Uber boat. I recommend it. Having travelled from my daughter's perfect wedding in Essex my stay with Viv was the perfect chilled break I'd hoped for. I wholeheartedly recommend Ragged Hall Hotel and will be recommending it to everyone. I'll most definitely be back one day 😊

Location was great for an event we attending at Sopwell House in St Albans. We stayed in the double room - the bed was comfortable, lovely shower, house was clean and nicely decorated. We were offered a simple but pleasant breakfast or (cereal and cooked breakfast), host (Viv) was kind and accommodating (flexible with check in as we needed to be).

If you stay in the double room, as you are downstairs and close to the kitchen, when other customers go from breakfast, it can be loud so I imagine it would be difficult to get a lie in. As check out was 10am, it wasn't too much of an issue for us though.

We had a lovely stay at the B&B. The location was great for us as we were going to the Gin and Rum Festival at St Albans Cathedral. Viv was really helpful and gave us some local recommendations. The room was perfect, so clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We would definitely recommend Ragged Hall Lane and would absolutely use it as a base when we come back to St Albans again.

The location was perfect for our needs. Lovely quiet room overlooking a well maintained garden and patio area. The host Viv was very friendly and prepared a lovely cooked breakfast which we enjoyed alongside conversation. Very spacious open plan living kitchen dining area.

Absolutely nothing to fault. If I had to make one reservation it would be to say the bedroom was slightly smaller than what we would normally look for in that there wasn't space for a bedside cabinet at both sides of the bed. That didn't present a problem for sleeping though.

Beautiful property, clean, well presented and welcoming. Located in the lovely town of Saint Albans which is only a few miles down the road from the Harry Potter Studios Tour. Perfect place for anyone who is visiting London/surround area. Viv was an amazing host, and we hope to stay there again when my wife and I visit the HP Studios in the future.
