Breakfast had plenty of choice and well cooked. The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. there seemed to be very few staff but they coped well with anything we asked of them.

Loose gravel surface leading to the parking areas was a problem on our motorbikes, but a member of staff allowed 3 of us to park on a small hard surface footpath area. The hotel bar closes at 10pm so if you fancy a late night drink you should go into Selkirk approx. 1½ miles away.

the food for both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was outstanding with generous portions. The steak and ale pie and the porridge are worth an extra mention.

The location meant a car was essential for the less mobile, like my wife and myself. road closures and diversions could be troubling but we still managed to visit many neighbouring towns including two visits to places in England.

Nice secluded location, the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of parking on the night we stayed there. The food was good and although we never got the chance to sit outside, it looks like the garden would be lovely during the summer months.

The shower was quite small and the temperature was either cold or boiling. It was a nice hotel however we have stayed many nicer places that cost less money.

Good evening meal options, nicely cooked and presented. The breakfast was cooked to order which is so much better than a buffet where the eggs get themselves over-cooked.

The gravel in the car park is rubbish for motorcycles but, very helpfully, reception was proactive is suggesting we park on the block paving area near the hotel

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Selkirk, with pleanty of secure parking. It's a good base for touring the Borders, as we did. It provides breakfast and dinner, provided you book in advance (evening before for breakfast and in the morning for dinner). The food is of a good standard, probably pre-prepared, but some interesting options. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had superb views over rolling countryside.

The hotel is very much oriented to functions (weddings etc) so it doesn't offer all the facilities you might expect for a quite upmarket facitlity. It has a relatively small number of bedrooms (around 25 - 30) so meal times are restricted (hence the need to book in advance) However, the hotel is quiet andthe rooms are comfortable and reasonably well equipped, which certainly was a significant compensation, and you soon get into the routine!

Beautiful grounds and garden. Bed very comfortable and room very quiet.

Breakfast should have been included in the booking for what we paid. No lift as we where on second floor. Hot water in bathroom vanity was boiling hot with no single mixer tap.

The food at this hotel is exceptionally good, the menus cater for different diets (e.g. many vegetarian and gluten-free options clearly available) and the quality of the cooking and the ingredients was exceptionally good. We really rate this hotel for its food! Service in the restaurant & breakfast area was consistently good, friendly, swift and very appropriate.

The design of the 'suite' we occupied was rather odd, with a 'mezanine' level second bedroom (which was rather small, and dark). We expected a suite on one level (two adjoining rooms with a bigger seating area), and not a rather oddly-shaped combination of living spaces.

The room was great and spacious with good wifi and the bed was good, the food was also very good as well.

Perhaps some of the timing restrictions with breakfast and dinner could be less strict as there was not that many people at the hotel.

Hotel was superb, modern, clean and so comfortable, with lovely garden and seating area outside. Breakfast and evening meal so enjoyable, especially the mushroom soup, best I have ever tasted, and staff were friendly and attentive. Not too far from town centre if you are driving but too far to walk.

There was nothing I didn't like. It was very quiet but that is exactly what myself and partner wanted.
