The room was very nice, I loved the way this old victorian room had retained the original sash windows and glass and although the bathroom suite was a bit dated it was spotlessly clean the water pressure was excellent and the hot water was roasting. The room was very large and the decor was neutral which I particularly loved. The view over the bay was everchanging and the activity of the yachts, even though it was the end of the season made it a pleasure to sit with a cup of tea and relax by watching the boats. I would have preffered a cook to order breakfast, but having said that the breakfast was good value for money, with a good selection. The staff are the Jewel in the crown of this hotel, they were extraordinarily polite, helpful and cheerful. The hotel was absolutely spotless, I didn't fid a speck of dust anywhere, since the pandemic, normally when I go to a hotel I clean the room before settling in myself, and remove the decorative cushions and bed spread, which I did do, but in this hotel it just wasn't necessary to get out the antibacterial wipes and spray, there was nothing to do, even the tv remote was spotless :-)

The breakfast could be improved on if it was cooked to order. I was also a little disappointed that there was no entertainment.

Loved the stylish big rooms, I don't know if there all like mine but if they are wow, plush carpets etc. Big thick mattress a little to firm for me but OK. So much room at night to sit in the massive lounge areas and order food and drink that is brought out to you and the food looked amazing.

There small things but it annoys me showers that feed of the taps there either red hot or freezing, and breakfast could have been organised better but again was OK and you leave full. It needs to stop thinking it's still a big grand hotel and lower its prices slightly to cater for a wider bigger market, would be horrible if it closed again. Staff were great but they didn't look happy beyond us the customer I think there boss is a tyrant ? Who knows ?

I was expecting a really old tired hotel and instead I got a beautifully refurbished room, way above my expectations. Outside terrace with stunning views and extremely friendly, helpful staff.

Actually nothing I didn’t like but I think a few small changes could really enhance the stay. Maybe an option of full or flat pillows, I prefer the latter and felt the pillows were just too ‘full’. The outside terrace is fab but if the hotel provided some outdoor rugs and patio heaters it really would enhance it. It says it’s a pet friendly hotel but it really isn’t. Should be more welcoming of pets in public areas - even if the have a pet zone/non pet zone then people can choose.

Hotel is stunning, room spotless, bathroom huge and spotless. Plenty of tea/coffee in the room. Beds were amazing, super comfortable. My friend and I had starters at the restaurant and they were wonderful. Plus massive portions! Despite coming late for breakfast the selection was still good and breakfast really tasty.

No information sheet in the room. And no information from the reception regarding WiFi, reception number or breakfast location and times.

A majestic property overlooking the bay, with clean comfortable rooms, and a wonderful bar and restaurant. But what makes this place spectacular is the staff - every single employee is just so courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Especially in this day and age, it’s truly something extraordinary.

We had a beautiful room with a lovely sea view, excellent for the price. The Tartan carpets. The brilliant position ang the luxuious ambience.

Lighting in the room, couldn't read after dark. Very good storage facilities and dressing table/desk, but we would have gladly sacrificed a little of this for TWO bedside tables, a small one each is fine, but the beds were so good, I couldn't even reach my glass of water from the floorr, so had to climb over my husband to get a drink i the night!!! The limited menu in the evening, especially as it was VERY difficult to eat elsewhere on Bute. The staff need their service lift servicing.

Great room with seaview on third floor .Refurbished bathroom is great with a nice deep bath The most amazing ,high quality pillows and quilt. The bar and front of desk staff are great and the beer was good quality as was the food. When they got it right on the Wednesday the buffet breakfast was amazing .Bacon, link and square sausage, haggis, mushrooms, tomato's,potato scone, fried egg, poached egg and beens. And to have pineapple juice as well as apple, orange and tomato juice was a choice I haven't seen in years .Bar manager great and hands on to help whenever we had queries.Stunning views due to elevated stance of hotel.

Car parking was just about fine but the hotel was pretty full on some days so I get it.Windows need a clean but again the expense would be huge to do this all the time for this grand old lady.Bar can shut early on occasion but you just stock up at last orders.

A friend and I decided to walk the West Island Way and also stay in one place so we chose the Glenburn Hotel because of it's central location. The breakfasts were great the staff really helpful and well-mannered. The bar was good and the food pretty good, not a huge range but enough for a 4 night stay. The bedroom was fine with a great view.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The main carpet leading through the hotel was a little grubby but my guess is that it gets a good clean in the winter months. The lift was very slow but that was not a problem. There's a lovely terrace outside with a great view and sometimes we found ashtrays with cigarette butts in them on the outside tables so maybe these could be emptied more frequently but this is a very minor gripe. Finally, in one room we found a deconstructed snooker table, how wonderful it would have been if it had been operational!

Room was spacious, immaculate, bed comfy. The staff were so attentive and pleasant, breakfast was simply incredible and very good value for money. Nearness to the town was very much appreciated too.

I didnt like the smoke alarm that had 2 tiny green lights that would flash day and night every 10-15 seconds, I found this a bit stressful as i couldnt sit at night especially when mullin over things because it was annoying. Also there was a trickle of water that continously bubbled away up the toilet bowl. I spoke to another couple who had the same problem getting to sleep with the flashing lights
