Me and partner had travelled from Newcastle via train and bus to get over to Yorkshire, The Wentworth Arms was really easy to get to, 840 bus straight from York Train station to Old Malton, takes about an hour but literally drops you off at the door step, practically a 2 minute walk over. Stayed here for 3 nights as we planned for Flamingo Land for a couple days, nice and easy to get too and very easy to spot where you'll be staying, definitely different, never seen an ivy covered building before. Kindly greeted as soon as we entered the main pub doors, and was shown up to our room to sort out luggage, etc, and was shown where breakfast will be for the mornings, which may I add *chefs kiss* beautiful food! Honestly can't fault it, perfect few nights we spent there, lovely and quiet even by a main road, slept like a log, rooms and toilets lovely and clean, staff really kind and friendly, and definitely well worth the money. Absolutely fantastic quality food as well, very filling but extremely tasty! Supplied with lovely clean towels, bedding, soap, tea and coffees and Freeview TV in the room, literally can't fault anything. Was an absolute pleasure to stay here. Never did go around to the garden area, but from the window view it looked very pretty. Main pub itself was fantastic also, lovely atmosphere and everyone is just so friendly and cheerful. Thanks for having us, was an absolute pleasure :) Until next time Yorkshire :) we'll be back very soon!

Food was fab; staff super friendly, very helpful and efficient; bed clean and comfy, pillows a little thin. Shower easy and plenty hot enough, let down by tile grouting starting to go black - & strangely long cracking across sections of floor tiles. Whole shower room, including door, would benefit from a lick of paint. Mismatched mugs. No bikkies or toiletries, other than soap - but that's fine as the room and breakfast were such good value. Needs secondary glazing as on main road, that was busy most of the night. Not helped by ill-fitting window, 3 small broken panes, and thin curtains letting in noise and light. Other bedrooms at side and back! Nicely-decorated room, with lovely trendy-coloured 'tongue n grooved' lower walls & door. But let down by all surfaces very sticky. May have been poorly cleaned & polished but more likely to have been a poor varnishing job (no time to dry between coats!)?) All in all, a good stay but could have been improved.

Ohh, we were made to feel so welcome by all the staff and nothing was too much trouble. They couldn't have been any more attentive. The food was wonderful and all freshly cooked. The rooms were spotless with crisp white bedding and towels. Plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms too.

Bathroom needed an up lift and hubby had to help me out of the shower as it is a high step to get in and out and there's nothing to grab on to. Windows could do with secondary glazing as you could hear every car going past but it is a listed building so maybe they can be it do this.

Just returned from a 1 night stay with my 5 year old son, visiting Flamingo Land the following day. We both loved the Wentworth Arms! Comfortable, modern decorated room with extremely comfortable beds. Great night sleep with no noise disruption at all! Great food from the pub until the evening even for little picky eaters. Same for breakfast the next day in a different part of the pub. All of the staff were welcoming, polite and friendly; happy to help and involved my little one in conversation too.

The staff made our stay wonderful. From phone calls before we arrived to great bar service and food services, they always had a smile to make us welcome. Nice bar and dining area, and separate breakfast area, nicely decorated and comfortable.

Not that I didn’t like, but we got a great value twin room with a private bathroom with a key, 2 steps down and 2 steps diagonally across the outside corridor…so fun hoping your wrapped towel stayed on! Room and bathroom both functional, plainly decorated. Fixed overhead shower with weak, but adequate flow, gradually getting hotter. Quite a narrow staircase too, but we make it up and down OK with an 82 year father, even after a few beers, gins and brandy!

A very welcoming host, really made us feel welcome after our long drive. We were able to book a table then for our evening meal, with an absolutely fantastic choice of food and drinks. Definitely recommend the in-house home made - Steak & Ale pie, unbeatable! 😍 Superb portion sized meals. Booking a table is essential, it really gets busy early evenings. Breakfast choice was superb and set us up for the day - all food - evening and breakfast, cooked by the most efficient and cheerful lady, who was at times totally run off her feet, a absolutely amazing lass! 👍👍 All the fantastic, cheerful staff made our stay perfect, they were brilliant, a great pity this amazing Inn is so far from home, it would definitely be our 'local'. Also the Wentworth Arms is in a perfect location for travel - to very many interesting locations around this part of Yorkshire. Our small - double room + on-suite was absolutely perfect for our needs, with a television and tea/coffee making facilities. Not forgetting the car parking, it was great, no problems at all.

Only let down by the bed! Nice and firm for me, but too firm for my wife, and sadly springs in the wrong places made it initially very uncomfortable. Oddly got better as week went by, probably too tired to notice after a busy day, a great meal, and Dark Fruits Cider! 😂 The Wentworth Arms is on a very busy road to Malton, no double glazing, not allowed obviously, being a period building. Amazingly the traffic noise, outside our roadside room, was kind of soporific! So didn't affect us.

The Wentworth Arms was a fabulous choice for the start and end point of my Yorkshire Wolds cycle ride. The accommodation was comfortable, the food delicious and plentiful (they even have a well considered vegan menu) and they even let me leave my car in the little car park while I was away for the two nights. Only slight gripe was that shower was a little outdated but other than that I can't fault the place.

Room was clean and comfortable. Service in the bar and evening meal were fabulous. Breakfast was excellent. Only tiny negative was bathroom was very small and the door locked us out! Hubby had to break us in! We were booked in whilst my horse was at the local hospital and the pub called me to explain parking for the box ahead of our booking which I thought was really considerate.

Lovely village location although a noisy main road. Lovely staff, especially the lady chef who made our breakfast on Thursday morning, so friendly and accommodating, lovely lady, and, thank you

Spiders! Not the pubs fault, I know, but I'm petrified of them and found one sat in the bottom of my coffee cup when I woke up! Nowhere to put soaps/shampoos etc whilst showering
