Lovely rooms, comfy beds and amenities in the rooms. The whole pub has lovely decor and a lovely vibe. Access to the drawing room for guests is a nice touch as are the free gin and whiskey. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful.

The drawing room could do with some music as could the restaurant area during breakfast. The door to our room (Wayfarer) was next to 3 other doors that you could hear open & close from the room so they need to add soft close or oil them at the very least. Personal preference but I don’t like being served coffee in a cup and saucer meant for tea and would prefer a coffee mug. Each morning the breakfast service was slow and we had to ask for menus, to place our order and for sauces. More attentive staff required for breakfast service. The consistency of the breakfasts was off. The breakfast on Friday morning was far better than the breakfast we had on Saturday morning.

We had a lovely stay, the staff were lovely and so accommodating. Huge thank you to Jane, who was just fantastic. She went above and beyond. Very welcoming and her knowledge of the surrounding area was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and the bed was soo comfy. The breakfast was perfect and the pub itself was so well kept. Lovely area, lovely people. We will be back for sure.

🐕🐕 Friendly.✅️ Lovely staff. Very helpful and accommodating at all levels. Good size room,with large bed and bathroom. Complimentary Gin is a nice touch, as is tea, coffee, and chocolates in the room. The food is very good. Excellent Sunday Roast. Melt in the mouth meat. Breakfast is well prepared, tasty, with plenty of choice. Again, bacon and smoked salmon are very nice quality. A sofa and comfy chairs in the bar area are always a big plus for us; the only downside is they do need new covers. A simple fix.

We had a wonderful overnight stay. The room and bathroom were beautifully presented, the bed and sheets are so comfortable. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant in the evening which was equaled by a yummy breakfast. The most wonderful thing about this place is the people. They are the perfect blend of helpful and friendly and their attitude to making sure you have a wonderful time is reflected in the little touches like complimentary sloe gin in the rooms and a dedicated guest lounge with books, games and whiskey!

Historic building, quaint old English village, lovely setting. Private drawing room to share although we had it to ourselves. On arrival in the evening, an accomplished guitarist\vocalist was performing in the outside courtyard, a lovely surprise.

Beautiful room with claw footed huge free standing bath. It would have been better to also have a shower (most people don't have time for a luxurious bath in the morning!)

Perfect location for our trip to a Jubilee event in Kingsclere. The staff were welcoming and the room, although quite small had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was the included breakfast. Parking was free onsite, limited availability, but plenty of on street options outside the hotel. Nice touch having complimentary Sloe gin in the room making a perfect night cap.

It’s an old building with associated restrictions on access to rooms which were up stairs and along low ceiling corridors. Only an issue for those with limited mobility.

Great room, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, nice touches like complimentary gin and speciality coffee in the room. Fabulous evening meal in the restaurant and one of the best full English breakfasts we've ever had. Very hand for Highclere Castle (Downtown Abbey!). Brilliant staff too, very friendly. Great stay all round, would definitely stay again - highly recommended!!!

The staff were absolutely amazing, with a particular shout out to Katy. They were friendly and accommodating, even though I had unfortunately had to make quite a few cancellations. The rooms were lovely - the beds were so comfy, and the bathrooms were spacious. There was also a drawing room just for hotel guests which was a great option as we stayed on NYE so had it to ourselves for a lot of the time! The food was delicious. We had the three course NYE meal and it was brilliant. The atmosphere was great - they had a live band, and the restaurant was nice and busy which created a nice buzz for the new year. Overall we absolutely loved our stay at Bel and the Dragon - will definitely return!

Magda and her team were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area. The room was very comfortable and spotless. The quality of the tea and coffee were excellent. The added bonus of the complementary Gin in the room a huge surprise. The food in the restaurant was of the highest quality too. 10/10. If we could give more we would!

Room is great. We stayed here at the start of 2020 on the way back to London from Cornwall and were really surprised with how good the food was, the customer service and vibe of the place. Our 2nd time around didn't disappoint either. Although we were too late for food, we had drinks in the garden and then a complimentary Sipsmith sloe gin in the room

Restaurant service could have been extended past 8pm but to be fair it was Sunday so can't complain too much
