I loved the space of the room and the grounds are spectacular.

The late check in and early check out was a bit cheeky. I know the restaurant is Michelin star but it would have been nice if the breakfast could start earlier not just at 9am as it felt very rush as we had to be out at 10am.

Food at the hotel was exceptional - breakfast was unusual in that it was served to the room in a hamper but full of so many goodies, each more delicious than the last. We managed to make breakfast and lunch out of it for two people each day with plenty left over to take home as well. House was magnificent and grounds - which you are allowed to access for free and after hours as a guest - are truly magnificent. Would 100% visit again.

Only downside is that, compared to other hotels of a similar price range, the facilities are limited. No pool, spa, gym, etc. The restaurant also doesn't cater to vegans (though the afternoon tea does - which was excellent.) Other aspects of the house and grounds more than made up for it, imho, but if you're the kind of person who enjoys extensive facilities then it'll be a drawback.

This is a quite extraordinary place to stay - set in the beautiful gardens that you have virtually to yourself in the evening after visitors have left - we timed our stay to coincide with a music and food evening in the gardens - magical The staff are all very helpful and friendly - genuinely interested in the guests and their back stories

Nothing - don't be put off by the breakfast hamper alternative to a breakfast in the restaurant (which is offered on days when the restaurant doesn't open in the morning?) - its beautifully presented and very special! This hotel is considerably more expensive than our usual choices but it is so luxurious and unique that it always feels like money well spent

Superb room decorated with exquisite soft furnishings, beautiful spacious bathroom with shower and free standing bath - all spotlessly clean. Generous selection of toiletries - attention to detail was perfect. Breakfast exceeded our expectation - perfectly portioned servings from cured meats, porridge, croissants, fruit, yogurt & beautifully presented cooked breakfast to finish. Faultless.

operating the TV was beyond complicated - in the end gave up. overpriced drinks in the bar - £14 for a single measure of standard port.

Everything about the place was absolutely stunning! The room was the best I've ever seen, the surroundings beautiful and service unbelievably good. We felt so well looked after throughout the stay that I'd love to visit Leonardslee again. There's also so much to see in the area.

If I had to find something I'd say the room was very hot. But the visit was during the heat wave and the room had large windows to two directions (which I loved!) so I guess only aircon would've been able to keep the room cooler.

The breakfast was the best I've ever had. A refreshing and delicious change from normal hotel breakfasts. Our butler was the best ... he was very polite about my terrible attempt at Zulu. The grounds are exquisite with the sculptures by Anton Smit a highlight.

Reception seemed a bit understaffed and disorganised. We had quite a wait for check in during which time the staff didn't even greet us. They were busy but it doesn't take long to say "Hi, I'll be with you shortly".

Beautifully restored property set in amazing gardens and surrounds. The staff were always polite and friendly and it was a very relaxing experience. The meals were wonderful.

The only downside which did not impact us but means we could not return with some friends is that due to the age and historic nature of the property it is not accessible for people in wheelchairs.

Very comfortable bed, luxury fittings in room and bathroom. The surrounding gardens are perfect for walks with interesting sculptures and wallabies! The hotel receptionist was exceptionally helpful.

The restaurant was not open which meant we had to travel elsewhere for dinner. The hotel did however provide a complimentary breakfast pack delivered to our room which was more than adequate.

The breakfast was outstanding and very good value. The location was stunning, with a magnificent view from the bedroom window.

Tooth mug in bathroom, would have helped. some kind of catering apart from the brilliant tasting menu experience, possibility of getting a sandwich or whatever. There are too many statues by Anton Smit, they are everywhere you look and not to everyone's taste.

The hotel was fantastic and dinner spectacular, I would strongly recommend it for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion

Only minor thing for me and this is being exceptionally picky, I found the pillows a bit to soft so would suggest having a bit of choice in the room.
