due to work I had to stay around the midlands for a while, this is how I found this lovely place in the middle of a village. it’s a great location for travellers and goers around the midlands, Birmingham is just 20 minutes by train and all the nearby villages like Tanworth are stunning. The staff is pretty well formed by people who are always in constant care over the guest asking if you are in need of something. Besides there is a restaurant which offers you a great variety of dishes, don’t miss white fish and chips, probably the best in all Solihull. also there is a Coop just 20 minutes by walking

Great location with good access to midlands motorways and NEC/Solihull/Birmingham. Staff are very friendly, helpful and seem very happy in their work. Cleanliness is good and rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar are light airy and have a friendly atmosphere with staff that go out of their way to please. If I can find anything that is a negative is being on older building tends to have quite creaky floors and at time movement in other rooms is quite evident, but not a problem that can be easily fixed! Overall value for money and a pleasure to stay there

Been staying here for a few years now but I tell them every time to thoroughly clean the shower base and behind the doors where they glide open - they never have - I have even done it myself once to prove it was do able - sealant on shower base mouldy - surely they could close a room for half a day to reseal and deep clean the shower -otherwise the rooms are a high standard in cleanliness -

The staff were lovely, welcoming, friendly and helpful, location fine, booking in and checking out took less than a few minutes, the restaurant and food, bar and outside areas all lovely, great parking and cctv everywhere, excellent value for money and despite a few very minor things that could do with a little more attention/ repairs in the room itself we had no complaints at all, we will be staying again but I would bring my own pillow next time 👍😊

The bed wasn't the best, pillows were flat and the cleaning wasn't 100% in the bathroom (mainly the shower) and a few minor repairs needed in places

The hotel’s car park had ample spaces and short walking distance to the hotel. Staff were professional At dinner (which was lovely) I was served with efficiency even though it was obvious they were short staffed. The room was clean, well appointed and the hotel in lovely grounds. It really is not worth taking into account, the comments on noise or decor. I slept well

Better provision for health(ier)/ continental/alternative breakfasts - to the traditional fry ups Croissants, pancakes, Greek yoghurt etc

We stayed at Hockley House in order to attend the local Jubilee air show. We arrived about ten minutes after our estimated arrival time and both rooms were ready. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly, breakfast was very nice and compared in price well with the local Beefeater pub. We had a meal in the restaurant on the first day and I must say it was the poshest food I've ever had and even though we had two starters, two mains and two deserts plus drinks the price was still only around £60 for both of us. The atmosphere was relaxed and even though they had an event on Friday evening the noise was barely noticeable -we would definitely request these rooms again if we were to return a second time (rooms 46 and 47)

The only criticism I have for the hotel was regarding the shower in my room (46) the water pressure was perfect but the temperature of the water even on the highest temperature setting barely got above luke warm. It was warm enough for me, but I could see a lot of people being upset at not being able to have a "hot" shower. I must add that I never raised a complaint about this as it really didn't bother me that much so the hotel were not aware of this issue.

Excellent location. Nice bar and restaurant. Great food. Just off the motorway so great for an overnight stop. We used it to break up a nine hour journey. Lovely pub garden. Staff were very friendly and we were lucky with the weather so it was nice to sit outside. The dogs were welcome, even inside the bar.

Not enough hangers (2) and had to go to reception for a hair dryer which didn’t work then had to go down again to get another. Shower didn’t drain well, but we reported it & staff said they would tend to it. We have two small dogs but our room was upstairs. Would have been better on the ground floor.

We stayed there for the Commonwealth games. Room was good, with windows that opened! clean with a comfy bed. Did not have breakfast there, but had dinner, which was very good. i had the pie, which was came with mash, but I asked to change it to chips, which was not a problem. it was delicious, my friend had the salmon and asked for the sauce to come separate, however, it didn't but it was very soon rectified. The batteries needed changing in the zapper for the TV which was sorted out straight away. All staff were polite and helpful.

Good room, good value and very nice pub with good food and 2-4-1 offers on mains. Friendly welcome, good location about 25 mins from Stratford.

We sleep with a "white noise" machine most of the time anyway to block out background sounds, but we did notice that there was quite a lot of noise from the floor above, footsteps and voices. We were on the ground floor and sound insulation between rooms was a little bit lacking. We made the best of it and the price was certainly very reasonable but a white noise app is recommended if you are a light sleeper.

I was very much later than I'd expected to arrive here (1139pm!) but nonetheless, there was a very warm welcome. There was a friendly face and 'Good morning ' from reception as I passed through to the dining room. At breakfast, Jessica attended to all my needs in a cheerful, pleasant manner whilst actively engaged in making fewer visits to the kitchen as possible by providing hot food and taking away used crockery.

My room was cold on arrival (not wasting energy on an otherwise empty room) but as I was going to bed it didn't really affect me.
