Sculthorpe Mill

Characterful Mill in a lovely setting -,have stayed here before and impressed with the update to the interior decor.

Our room was compact - reflected in price paid but would benefit from a small bedside cabinet.

Breakfast fabulous. Room a little small but they made the best of the space available. Clean and comfy. Great bathroom with handheld shower. The staff and food was amazing. They couldn't do enough to help. All with a smile. Location and gardens lovely.

Room a little small but sufficient. Would have liked tea facilities in the room. Didn't like the coffee machine and capsules. But as soon as we mentioned tea milk and a kettle and tea bags offered and available at a tea station.

They allowed us to check in early which was great. Really friendly, left us to it and were helpful when we asked for help.

I was a bit confused about when the kitchen closed as on the website it said that on a Sunday it closed and reopened in the evening, but at about 6 o clock I was told the kitchen had just closed. We’d already had something to drink so we couldn’t drive to find something to eat elsewhere. That would be the only negative

Fantastic character place, great rural location and very comfy bed. Also really nice, hot shower. Lovely bar and very nice dinner although we were the last sitting and a few of the dishes had sold out. Great breakfast included, and loved the teas, kettle and nespresso machine in the room

Considering there's no TV's in the room which is absolutely fine and what we wanted, they could make sure the lighting and especially reading lighting by the bed is better in future. Only 1 bedside lamp due to size of room so maybe a couple of wall-mounted reading lights would be good. Didn't really mind lack of wi-fi although there was a password, just couldn't get any at all in the room

We liked the location. The gardens were very pretty. The members of staff were very polite.

We didn't didn't feel we should have had to request a tv for our room or to have reported repairs that were needed. It would have been nice to have been offered more toast, coffee or tea at breakfast. The table with butter for croissants was not topped up and it was guess work whether it was jam or marmalade!

Nothing really. Only ate once as the restaurant was closed for 2 days. One suggestion would be to put a handle on either the bath or wall above. some of us have reached an age where we feel safer with a handle to hold onto getting in and out of the bath!!! Minor point though!!

Good location, close to North Norfolk attractions. Beautiful grounds and very peaceful. Well presented accomodation, modern, quirky and tasteful decor. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Varied menu choice, well presented and good quality produce at an extremely reasonable price. Be warned, portion sizes are large. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Room(6) slightly cramped but perfectly adequate for overnight stay.

Lovely setting with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are quite small but beautifully decorated and comfortable. We are about average height and were close to the ceiling so keep this in mind if you are over 6ft. I'm not sure if this is all rooms, just our one. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely location set back from the main road but great for visiting local sights, attractions or attending events nearby. The breakfast was very tasty and very friendly staff and accommodating kitchen for dietary requirements. Hope to stay again soon!

Evening meals, breakfast, bar etc all very good indeed. The room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The staff were soooooo personable and as a quiet place it was nice to have their banter/chat/involvement. They worked so hard! Plenty of parking and a gorgeous setting.

The room had no TV - it needs to be clear on booking (especially a family room!) that this is the case. The place as a whole had no TV and although it was nice to escape from such things I think it would be a fair assumption that a stay of similar cost would have a room TV. It was declared that wifi was also missing (I missed that on booking) and that really needs to be resolved. How many hotels these days cannot provide wifi? especially when the hotel bookings and tills etc all run on wifi. The rooms needed a wardrobe - not 5 pegs on a wall, especially for anyone wanting more than a weekend. There was no draw space for clothes either. Finally breakfast was rather limited and needed more options - only Saturday offered croissant, only soda bread toast and only full fat milk.

The setting was fabulous, right on a river and surrounded by peaceful countryside. The Mill is old but tastefully decorated. But above all, the staff were friendly, extremely helpful and very efficient. Michael in particular went out of his way to resolve a temporary problem with the room, keeping us informed about progress and ensuring we had a comfortable stay.

Everything was to our satisfaction.
