Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge

Really amazing value for money. Clean room, with great bathroom. A but small but nothing less from what you'd need or want for a rest. Great lighting in the room that made it really cozy and modern. The hotel is really new and has an amazing bar with great cocktails. (plus you have a complimentary cocktail either when you arrive or during the day if you want to)

The area of the hotel, although in the map is near the old town, the roads are in a way that it's not really in a easy walking distance from anywhere. I mean there is a bus stop 2 blocks away with link to the airport but those are busy roads around the hotel and to add to those, parking is a real issue.

Friendly, attentive staff. Room was nice and quiet even though the hotel was busy. Perfect hotel for what we required - a place to stay whilst we explored the city. The bed was very comfortable and the black out curtains worked extremely well. The bathroom was clean and the shower functioned well - no issues with water temperatures.

We turned the aircon off but as you can only turn the fan into the room off, air was still being circulated. Unfortunately we both suffer with severe allergies and the air filters above the doorway were riddled with dust which gave us both sore throats initially though we kept hydrated. Due to being severely immunosuppressed from medication this has led to me being quite ill over the third day, fourth day (checkout) and still now I'm home.

Staff were really friendly and nice. They were helpful in our requests. The hotel was walking distance (2mins max) to Tesco Express. As for the city center, it takes about 13-15mins by walking. The interior of the room looked nice.

The price was pretty steep for the size of the room (the toilet was slightly small but decent enough) and the location of the hotel (as mentioned above, walking to the city center takes around 13-15mins). We didn't really like that the bed sounds like peeling plastic each time we moved about on it.

very clean and modern, nice and welcoming vibe, free welcome cocktails, nice location, good isolation, and most importantly working airco(so many hotels have the airco that doesn’t work properly).

average breakfast, I was expecting more choice. two pillows and both are too hard for me, would be nice to have softer pillows in the room as well. no coffee machine in the room( but it is available in the lobby though, free or charge). I would expect at least some view either on the street or backyard, but our window was looking at the wall of another building. but anyways we were out every day, and only sleeping in the room, so that didn’t matter much.

Really friendly staff - welcoming and informative. a great start to our stay. Decor is quirky - which we like and partly why I booked. comfy beds. lovely clean rooms ( plus housekeeping each day was really nice). Have the Welcome Cocktail - it’s lovely and thirst quenching after a long journey.

If only it was right in the middle of the city centre. And this is only because a after a day of walking everywhere, it seemed a long 10 minutes. Plus, when we went out, we stayed out rather than return to the hotel to freshen up. But this was a decision I made at the time, and at no fault of the hotel!! But, I felt that it was perfect for our price range and was the compromise to get a quirkier hotel rather than the usual Travelodge or Premier Inn.

Room was clean and stylish! Lovely shower and layout overall. Staff were really lovely and helpful. Breakfast was okay (we got there late though so not much was left as they were finishing up). Lovely bar and location! Not a far walk from the main tourist spots. We stayed for 3/4 nights so space was just right.

The TV Bluetooth connection didn’t work. Would’ve been a lovely touch to be able to watch Netflix but wouldn’t connect at all. Wish breakfast ran for a little longer but that’s just personal preference. No major issues at all. View wasn’t great BUT didnt bother us at all, we were out all day anyways

Room was great, clean and had everything needed for a one night stay. Bed comfortable and plenty pillows. Blackout curtains work well to keep the room dark in spring/summer when it gets light so early. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice, no queues when we had ours around 8am on a Sunday morning. We also had a bite to eat with a couple of drinks in the evening from the bar and food was tasty. Remember to ask for your welcome drink :-) Location is great - Murrayfield half an hour walk or so. I would choose Moxy again based on this experience.

Unfortunately the rooftop bar wasn't open, which was disappointing

I enjoyed my stay at the Moxy Fountainbridge. The staff was great and very helpful! It was very clean, and I enjoyed having the bar downstairs. The rooms were compact but good for 1-2 people. The location is pretty convenient, but you do have to walk about 30 minutes to get to the old part of the city. If you need a cab or an Uber, you can call one easily from the hotel.

My only gripe is that the continental breakfast was pretty steep, as was the nightly rate of the hotel. I'd instead recommend grabbing a breakfast sandwich at Hank's across the street and some coffee from The Coffee Cave.

The room and hotel was very modern and clean. The bathroom although it was compact, was good and fucntional. The women who we initially dealt with when checking in was extremely helpful and friendly. It was a good distance from the main attractions and a tram stop.

Our aircon didn't work and the room was slightly colder than we would have liked. We did mention this to a member of staff who did appear helpful and sounded like he would act on the problem, however, we heard nothing more about it and at that point had one night left so didn't bother chasing it up. Definitely could have done with two pillows rather than one, again, not a major problem but could have made the stay more comfortable. The TV flickered quite a lot but not in the room an awful lot during the day so just an observation.

We liked everything about this hotel - location was excellent, staff were very helpful, food was gorgeous especially their pizza. Very quirky hotel which our teenagers enjoyed very much as they had games to play whilst we sat relaxing. Loved their locker system as our flight didn't leave until late night so we were able to check out, store our luggage and explore the city then just come back and get it without queuing - hassle-free.

There is really nothing that I can think of to improve on as we were there for 2 nights on a short city break with our teenagers and it ticked all of our boxes.
