Devonshire Park Hotel

I stayed for one night whilst racing at Eastbourne Triathlon. The reception staff were really welcoming and helpful to me and others who were racing, allowing us to keep our bikes securely in the hotel, and being very flexible with parking and late check-outs. Not all hotels are as accommodating and understanding, and so I won't hesitate to stay again and/or recommend the hotel to others.

It was a very hot weekend, and without air conditioning it was a little bit warm in my room, but this is a very minor issue as the room had a large window and it was quiet/secure enough to keep the window open.

Very friendly staff. Upgraded our room to a suite. Own balcony with garden furniture. Huge bed! This is an old building - plenty of period features and also had communal lounges so if you were in a larger party you could meet there. Also had so.e antique items from the period on display in the lounges. Breakfast was great. Tomatoes and poached eggs cooked to perfection! Everything else was cooked well but these are items that aren't always done so well. But they were perfect!

Such a pleasant manager and the staff at breakfast could not have been nicer. My room was very big with a separate bath and shower. So much better than a shower in the bath. Very comfortable bed with four pillows. The locality for my Congress Theatre trip was fantastic. It is probably an old Hotel but I thought it was fabulous. I would definitely book in there again. I managed to lock myself out of my room but the lady cleaner was most helpful in letting me back in!

There wasn’t anything I really disliked

The free car parking, car charger on site, welcome and reception team, lounges, breakfast and friendly server. We think our room may have been upgraded to a suite, which was a nice surprise.

The heating. The January temp outside was sub 6oC, so we can understand why the heating needed to be on, especially for the older guests. However, our room was too hot on arrival and it took us the evening to cool it down, by turning the radiators off and opening windows. Luckily we were out for the evening, so when we returned it was perfect.

the room I was allocated was very comfortable and spacious with full en-suite facilities, including bath, shower and wash basin. The breakfast was very good with both a buffet and a very good cooked English breakfast. The location was ideally placed to reach both the town centre and the sea front, as well as the theatre and the Winter Gardens being almost opposite. The free on-site car park of the hotel was also very useful.

Nothing really, as the both the hotel and the helpful staff fulfilled all my needs.

Food was excellent and served promptly. Staff I met were all helpful. Parking was an issue, I chose this hotel as it had parking but it was full and double parked inthe morning. Had I wanted to get away it would have been an issue. My room 32, was large and comfortable but next visit I would choose a room on a lower floor as I have trouble getting upstairs.

Car parking and no lift to the top floor. Also no offer of help to take luggage up.

Very good location. Big room and nice bright en suite with natural light. Breakfast was of a decent standard, with enough choice. Tea and coffee facilities in the room was a nice touch that not all hotels provide. Onsite parking was a major bonus, and was instrumental in my decision to book at the Devonshire. Staff were friendly and attentive.

A safe in the room would be a good addition. As would a bigger TV.

Welcoming, charming staff, delicious food, very well presented. Comfortable lounges to sit in with a book and a beer! I booked a single room and got twice as much!! A big room with a small double bed and a bathroom twice the size as my own!! Couldn't fault it at all and if I'm ever in Eastbourne again, I shall definitely stay there. It had vintage character, with framed posters of theatre plays and lots of lovely, colourful artwork of Eastbourne. Fabulous.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. It even had it's own car park. Just a short walk to the promenade, in a quiet street.

Room 6 was great for me I felt secure, it was quiet and comfortable. It was rather too hot for me but I was able to open the window. Breakfast was very good, tables well spaced & area clean. All staff very friendly and helpful. Location brilliant we could walk on the seafront, visit the Towner gallery, get into town & walk to the station. Parking a huge bonus.

Prices for dinner rather high. Room too hot although radiator wasn’t on.

Very comfortable large bed,the room was very clean and all the staff were brilliant with a good sense of humour, also the breakfast was excellent with decent thick bread toast, will go again when we go to the theatre there

Not impressed with the small TV that was not even HD, like watching through a mist, much better picture on my ipad , considering large television's are so cheap to buy in tesco
