Price, location, facilities Room and ensuite standard. Stored bags for later in day Rang for taxi Room had good facilities Staff were helpful. Overall brilliant value. Would stay again.

Initial greeting from girl on her phone at the office desk (maybe on a break), looked at us if we were mad when asking to check in, which was a bit unexpected. Someone immediately shot out the office however and all good from then on. Think the girl was not customer facing! Cooling fan in the room was noisy, but ok while awake. Aircon limited adjustment, but not too warm. Mattrass firm but fine in the main for the stay. Shower doors prone to leakage. Nowhere put stuff in the shower compartment. Minor things given the value.

Excellent location - a secure car park is around the corner (we paid £22 for 3 nights) The hotel is situated just above the North Gate - so its just a few metres from the City Walls! This was our first time in Chester and first stay at a Wetherspoon's hotel. The hotel was excellent overall - very good value and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was secure and clean - excellent shower and the bed was comfortable with a quality duvet and extra pillow. Breakfast was typical for Wetherspoon's - good value for money!

Everything was great, room clean, checked in with ease, location great.

Room was a little small but was ok for us for 1 night. All the staff we encounyered were brilliant apart from 1 guy who insisted in coming past us every 5 minutes telling us we had 20 mins to drink up, then 15, then 10, we had then finished our drinks and went up to our room, he was quite aggressive and didnt know we only had to walk upstairs and seemed to ignore the older gentleman sitting across from us who still had a full pint. Having said that, it wouldnt put us off staying again.

Chester's tiny but this was still very conveniently located! Right upstairs a Wetherspoon pub but it was surprisingly charming. Room was a pretty decent size too. Overall, great experience.

One thing that was shockingly bad was the toilet brush...I won't get into any details but it needs to be replaced asap. The other thing that was a little annoying is there was no dedicated staff member/reception area so waiting time for all things hotel may vary. The final thing is, if you're driving, there's a car park around the corner (Delamere) but if you're driving during the day, you may struggle to find a spot.

We loved the location, friendly and helpful staff, food at the pub (both, evening meal and breakfast, which was not included in the price, but very tasty), the bathroom, the room and building decor, the character of the building, the clean bedding and towels, comfortable lighting, etc. The area of the pub, outside sitting garden, and corridors was clean and tidy. Would give it 10 out of 10, BUT...

The bedside lights in the room were very dusty One wall had unpleasant brown stains (splashes?) which I think, could be wiped or painted over The bed was solid and looked great, but the mattress was rock hard, to the point of not giving if you sat on it! One towel, although very clean and white, was thread bare So, apart from the mattress, some minor things that could be easily corrected.

We liked the location of the hotel and the fact the local car park was a minutes walk away - if that! The cost of which was very reasonable, considering its location. As usual, the Wetherspoons staff were good, pleasant and very helpful. Our room was better than we expected. It was warm, inviting, nicely decorated and fitted out. It was roomy, clean and comfortable. The shower room was modern and clean, although the shower wasn't as impressive as it looked. The bar areas were in the usual Wetherspoon style and the outdoor space was atrractive. The price of our room was very good value for money.

Nothing really that we didn't like. Everything was good.

The only gripe i had was bedding pillows they were terribly too soft, a firmer quality one would be much better than two that flattens to nothing ,a memory one would be ideal ,less pillow cases and pillows to deal with might be costly in first instance but would cut costs down in long run and more comfort and support, i use cosori memory for four years now and still keeps shape and has its own cover doesn't get hot like cheaper versions as i suffer health problems with back and neck the hotel pillows were very poor i went out to purchase a memory bolster to shove under two pillows for strength.The matress was firm and good

Booked with my boyfriend simply to experience what it’s like staying in a spoons hotel - went above my expectations especially for the price! Our room was right next to the women’s toilets so I thought “uh oh” initially thinking we would hear people coming and going but couldn’t hear a peep, and had a great sleep. Rooms were super clean and modern and the bathroom was beautiful, much better than I was expecting! Simply can’t beat the price for food too. We both had vegan breakfast and to get the same amount of food somewhere else would have cost a lot more so we were thrilled. Location was perfect for mooching around Chester. Absolutely recommend :)

We had a very nice room (albeit with strange views, but we didn't come for a room with a view) , excellent food and met the probably nicest helpful staff you could find in the country ! They have a nice big beer garden with wheelchair access. Also good location. We were very pleased with our 4-nights-stay.

We just can't stand stickyness in any place. To the manager: a thorough cleaning is called for - everything, from the banister of the stairs to the surface of card machines (ATMS) needs a deep clean, nut just dusting.

How central to everything it was. How you could pop down stairs, get a drink and take it back up to your room. How it was only accessible to hotel guests who had a key to go into the corridor where the rooms are. Brilliant sized room. The condiments left in the room for us included a bottle of water each, lovely touch, and oat milk as well as normal milk for the tea and coffee.

The toilet seat kept unclipping and coming loose when you sat on it but for 1 nights stay it wasn't worth complaining about. Needs more lighting around the dressing table area.
