The Croft

Great location in the center of town but still quiet at night. Large room with comfortable bed and all the usual accessories. Lounge area was also useful for meeting up with fellow guests. Hosts very friendly and informative. Well cooked traditional breakfast.

My shower cubicle was small and the shower head did not stay in place so adjustment was tricky. A wider selection of fruit and cereals would be nice at breakfast.

Owner and staff extremely helpful (above and beyond the call of duty, in fact: especially when my wife was taken unwell); very pleasant room; very nice breakfasts. All in all a really good place to stay.

The TV signal on some channels and the free wi-fi not altogether reliable, but in fairness this didn't cause any major inconvenience! Local parking a bit pricey, but that isn't the hotel's fault. (It is, after all, right in the town centre).

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, spotless room and bathroom, all add up to an amazing stay thank you :) beautiful old building in town centre with parking just accross an alleyway.

Possibly option of an earlier breakfast start (say 730) but not a slight against my stay or something that would put me off coming again!!

As listed. Perfectly located. Paul and his team where very welcoming and efficient. His recommendation for a meal at the Royle was first class (best steaks ever) and overall we had a wonderful stay. The breakfast quality was better than we are used to, so thank you. We will definitely come again.

Creaky floors, but this is an old building and has been a guest house for centuries. All part of the charm.

The house is lovely. Very central, very quaint. Lovely owners, the lounge area is great to have somewhere to hang out. Good WiFi too!

Shower in my room was a little weak. Think the breakfast needs a bit of work. The grapefruit was tinned which really isn’t good at this price point, and think the cooked breakfast could be a bit higher quality.

Our First Room Was Very Small But Moved To A Bigger Better Room For Second Night

location - beautiful area. lovely cosy room, very quiet so had a wonderful night's sleep. Room was very clean. everything needed for an overnight stay was available. the breakfast was excellent!

the wifi connection wasn't great but that was ok. It meant I had to read instead of catch up on emails!

Easy to find, well signposted from either end of the street. Room was spotless, quiet and had a very comfortable bed. All staff were friendly and chatty. The owner knows the area really well and recommended loads of things to do and how to get there. Breakfast was very well organised, loved the daily tick list. The food was of exceptional quality and they were flexible with choices.

The room was on the small side. There were hangers in the wardrobe, but not enough to unpack everything. Not usually a problem if there's space to leave cases open. That was the only one small problem and we managed for two nights.

Everything. Beautiful surroundings,furnishings were lovely, attention to detail, good food, cleanliness all met our expectations. We will definitely book again.

Nothing to do with the premises - we were unfortunate to be in a room (8) on the wrong night. A couple were loud in their bedtime antics at midnight, 5. 15am and 6.20am. The noise from above woke me 3 times and I'm a poor sleeper anyway. As I said, not the fault of the Croft. I just wish some people would be courteous and curb their passion a little to allow others to sleep.

Check in was seamless. The B&B is run by a lovely couple who could not have been more accomodating. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. It was a lovely short stay and we look forward to coming back.
