Queens Head Hotel

Nice cosy and comfortable rooms- next door to the rest of our party. All staff very friendly and obliging. Tasty breakfast and evening meal. Hotel in a central location in Berwick, near old wall, parks etc. On street parking good, with the permit. Good base for visiting Lindesfarne, Bamborough and St Abb's Head.

The door on room 5 was difficult to open and close, maybe due to long pile on the carpet- needed a very heavy push! Meals nice, maybe portions a bit big for the evening meal? I always wish, in all restauarants, that they would offer smaller and larger potions of meals as we are all different.

Location was great, food good, nice breakfast choices, lovely friendly staff.

Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and presented. Could have a wide choice of cooked, vegetarian, or continental options. Good choice of cereals, porridge and kippers as well. I had the evening meal at night, again well cooked and presented,with good menu choices. All the hotel staff were pleasant, attentive, and service was excellent. The hotel, in addition to having good staff, was a Grade 2 listed building, in a good location for trains, buses, town centre, and attractions. Would definitely stay there again.

BBC channels missing from my TV, but was informed of this on arrival, and that repairs were pending. Some Freeview channels unobtainable. Slight noise heard from downstairs restaurant guests, when in my room, along with hearing cars, as room faced the street, but not a deal breaker.

Excellent location: 3 minutes to Quay Walls and all day parking. Excellent breakfasts with plenty of choice and everything was cooked to perfection! Storage in the bathroom was great. Why don't all hotels use a vanity unit above and below the washbasin?

The room with twin beds and an armchair felt a bit cramped. Three coat hangers seemed a bit mean. The TV covering half the mirror was a quirky touch!

The friendliness of the staff and the vast amount of knowledge of the area they had and willingness to help to find what you were looking for. Amazing breakfasts.

The stairs into the dining area, especially the last step which is extremely high where perhaps another step could be added. The stairs to the rooms, although appreciate nothing can be done about them.

Always love the food here, and we decided to stay over for Valentine's this year. We were not disappointed! The staff were amazing from start to finish! 5 start treatment, made our stay very special. Thank you all!

Having to leave! Having to choose what to eat and drink as it was all so good! Bravo!

The Queen’s Head is a listed building so there was character plus it’s unique. The staff were exceptional and couldn’t have possibly done any more to make our stay comfortable.

The breakfast was very good although I only had a small meal there was lots of choice if I wanted more. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Good location near the Quay walls and town's facilities.

My room was above the dining room and was a bit noisy one night when there was a big group in.

The bed and bedroom were warm and comfortable . Staff were friendly and helpful

The en-suite was modern but both of us burnt ourselves on the radiator because of the lack of space when coming out of the shower.For a hotel we were expecting more than just two chairs in a corner as downstairs lounge. Unfortunately we both were unwell so had to leave on the second day .Refund possible?

Friendly staff throughout our stay.. Great breakfast menu, the best black pudding in the world and added bonus of haggis and a potato scone. The breakfast menu also includes salmon and kippers. The food menu is second to none. Great diverse choices and all well cooked

Theres always something, the chips were frozen / oven chips, if you have a great menu then the chips should be real potato. I know it's a small thing but.....
