An unusual mix of old and new. Superb shower. Spacious room with all of the usual facilities. Comfortable bed. Rural village location. Quiet - once the pub closed. Good pub food. Large range of beers.

We had a key to get in via a side door if we returned after the pub had closed. We were told the lock "is a bit fiddly". We DID return after the pub had closed and it took several minutes of fiddling to open the door. During this time I called the phone number on the booking confirmation which went unanswered. We did mange to open the door after some more fiddling but it's not ideal. I would strongly recommend that if guests think they will be returning to the property late, that they give the side door lock a trial run beforehand.

Breakfast has been criticised but was great - no extra cost , already in the room (in the fridge) plenty of good quality ingredients (Croissant, yogurt, milk, cereal, tea/coffee, really good cold meats and a selection of chesses). Great meal in teh restaurant and 3 real ales to choose from .

Only issue was finding the cutlery and dishes . I guess i should've listened more carefully but after a long day you don't take it all in do you. Anyway I was told that "it happens a lot" so why not leave a message on the table next to the kettle. Parking is limited so had to find the overflow car park. it had been snowing so the sign was obliterated by snow :-)

It was nice to have a big shower without having to climb into a bath ,with good pressure and soft water.Sitting at the window, watching the squirrels jumping around while enjoying a nice continental breakfast at leisure. The atmosphere in the free house below with its good selection of beer, wines, and spirits was great, along with the wholesome food also served there. Yes, I would definitely go back.

The room itself was beautiful, a large comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom with a powerful walk-in shower and a window box of flowers outside. The bar downstairs was great, very friendly atmosphere, good choice of food and drinks. My husband loved having a proper coffee machine with a choice of pods.

The croissants for breakfast were individually wrapped but left in the fridge so they were wet and soggy. Like many people, I have to avoid caffeine for medical reasons but there was no de-caff option for breakfast.

This is a lovely pub . The rooms are well appointed . The restaurant was very good indeed . The pub has a smashing garden There was a good selection at breakfast although, of course you have to eat it in your room . The bathroom is super, and the staff friendly . We would return .

I couldn't find a hairdryer? Everything was fine but we were a little concerned that the cereals on offer had nuts in . Whilst this doesn't affect us it would have done our son and other nut allergy sufferers .

Clean, spacious room and a fabulous bathroom with walk in shower. There was a good selection of food for the continental breakfast in the fridge, a kettle, and a coffee machine with a variety of coffee pods. It was really handy for us having a quick breakfast in the room as we had to leave early in the morning. They also served great food in the pub and the staff were friendly. We will definitely stay again.

The croissants were a bit hard because they'd been put in the fridge!

Very well appointed pub and small hotel. Rooms appear to have been recently renovated with excellent bathroom (lovely and warm). The room was well laid out, with power points in all the right places for a working visit. Breakfast was in room but everything was stocked in the small fridge to be eaten at will. Good tea/coffee facilities. Comfortable bed. Good parking and only 1.5 miles from the Milton office complex. We arrived very late as the road diversions led us astray, but the pub manager made sure we had a supper and kindly showed us the room etc. Lovely staff.

The room is up a short but steep flight of stairs. Didn't bother us and the pub manager took our bags up for us.

A good alternative to the large chain hotels around the Milton Park area. A warm welcome in a traditional pub with wood burners and real ale. The room was particularly well equipped with a small fridge which contained breakfast (milk, cereals, cheeses and meats) as well as fruit, coffee and orange juice. Room was comfortable, warm and very clean.

Parking at the front of the pub was a bit tight (it was straight after work and so it quietened down later). Wet room bathroom didn't drain particularly well after a shower.

The location was excellent and the pub looked the part with flowers at the windows - very welcoming. The room was clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable. The wet room was modern and the water was nice and hot. The breakfast was of a continental style and all left in the fridge. Everything worked as it should. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was really nice at a reasonable price.

Don't leave your car under the trees opposite, birds pooped all over ours and it took ages to get off. The staff provided us with a bucket of water and tissues which was very useful! Nothing else to dislike.

Recommend this place for a stop particularly if you like genuine old style pubs with excellent variety of real ale and equally good food. Each room has a fridge with fully stocked continental breakfast so eat when u want , ideal if u need an early start. Great ambience to bar with smells of a real fire

Cant criticise this place at all, beyond their control but noticed an industrial/ retail park development has almost swallowed a lovely village up, so when you turn off the main road, your first impression is you are heading to the nightmare of somewhere on a retail park. Dont worry, its not in it!
