Clean hostel style rooms Very simple but everything works Shared toilets and bathrooms always free and they were clean Breakfast was good Nice neighbourhood, good location in the heart of Stonetown

The Walls didn’t stop noise at all The price was very high about the hostel level room.T here should be more hooks in the room

Perfect location close to the narrow streets of the Old town and the beach. Possibility to arrange trips and taxi for reasonable prices at the reception. Very clean and spacious room, friendly staff.

Breakfast might get monotoneous after couple of days (choice from 3 options).

Everything from the location, to the facilities, and the staff were exceptional. The property was located in the heart of Stone Town, just minutes away from the beachfront and notable areas of interest. The building itself was historical with a beautiful Zanzibar style door. The interior was recently refinished—bright, but cozy. The room was bright, clean and cozy. We slept very well in the bed, and enjoyed spending some of our days inside while it poured down rain. Breakfast, each day was delicious. They offered a great variety of delicious options. And the staff provided exceptional service, always ready to help us with our needs while we were there. This was one of our favourite locations to stay at while in Zanzibar.

I communicated regularly with the staff while in Zanzibar. They gave me a price list for different tours. Since we checked out of our previous accommodation early, I asked if we could store our luggage at Shoki Shoki House while we did a Prison Island tour. They graciously agreed to do so. They arranged the tour for us. Shoki Shoki House was in walking distance of an ATM and plenty of restaurants. Unfortunately, we missed the breakfast because we had an early flight. However, we were served a refreshing glass of Habiscus drink upon check-in and cookies in the evening when they sprayed for mosquitos.The entire staff made us feel welcome. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Stone Town while in Zanzibar.

I hate that we didn't get a chance to stay longer and experience breakfast there. A gentleman who went on a tour with us said that breakfast was good and plentiful.

Very lovely breakfast! Loved the avocado toast! It's a great hotel with lovely and very friendly staff! The location is great walkable distance to everywhere really. We have travelled with a 2 year old and have requested cot which was already in the room when we arrived which is great! However, our room was so small and we barely had space for them in the room not to mention opening them! We have only stayed one night in the hotel so it's manageable but should have booked maybe bigger room or room looked bigger in the pictures! This is not a minus and I understand that in city centre you might not get a spacious room. Oh and also we have forgot to take our buggy and staff was so kind and helped us out to arrange the pick up. Overall great stay!

Everything. The place is beautifully authentic traditional and in convenient location. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The staff are amazing starting with David who accommodated my request and was welcoming when we met at the hotel. Jackson the manager made sure everything was good everyday, Sawda made sure we are well looked after, Marian met us with great smile and said goodbye with just as great smile and made sure our check in and checkout was smooth, and finally Fi who cooked great food and was kind. Thank you ShokiShoki and we are for sure coming back.

Best breakfast in Zanzibar, with 3 main options but adaptable to your desires. Super nice staff. Water whenever, you’ll find a bottle to reuse/refill in the bedroom. Super close to the central Stone Town, beaches, best restaurants and cafes, atm just around the corner, small businesses and main stores. Cosy hotel, with only 14 bedrooms, you feel like part of a small community. Fan and A/C in the room was a plus. Spacious rooms! And a welcome cake and juice on arrival, was perfect.

Some improvements we would recommend: - placing shower curtains - lamps on the bed side tables, is a must.. - lamp over the toilet sink, would be nice - Placing hand towels would be nice (only bath towels were supplied)

Very nice small place in the center of Stone Town The staff was so kind and helpful, they even helped us carry our bags to the room The breakfast is so delicious with lots of fresh fruits and juice.

the room was very small, basically filled with the bed, you can barely walk next to the bed we had only shared bathroom, but I think there are 1 or 2 rooms with a private bathroom, take care when booking but it was ok for us, we love adventures and it was perfect for exploring Stone Town 2 nights

We were welcomed by a staff member on the passage and greeted with a local drink which was nice. The rooms is very clean, property air conditioning system and always mineral water available and the staff is very helpful. I love the white paint and white sheet. Breakfast has 3 options which I didn’t mind and is delicious. The hotel is close to all amenities, shops, restaurants in Stonetown. The night market is a walk away. The staff are amazing!!

The shower is terrible, the shower brakes off and the water drainage needs to be improved.

Shoki Shoki (which means rambutan) is a great hotel and is very convenient for a visit to Stone Town. We wanted to stay in a hotel with some character, and it is very well placed, near the sea, for morning and evening walks, and in the street next to the street where Freddie Mercury lived as a child. Our flight arrived quite late, but the staff were all ready to check us in, and our room was very comfortable - a large comfortable bed with nets (although no mosquitos to be seen at this time of year - Feb 23), and a compact bathroom with hot water for us to switch on and off when we wanted. We had a fan and AC as well, but the fan was sufficient and we hardly needed the AC (this was the hottest time of year). Breakfast was great - we could choose from an ample menu, and it was well presented. Wifi was good.

Nothing - everything about the hotel was great, and we would definitely stay there again.
