Swiss Star Tower - contactless self check-in

Well located , everything you may need it it’s nearby . To the central area only 15 minutes . I’ve made 2 reservations , and I was able to stay at the same apartment because I’ve booked the same category apartment .

Extremely loud from both sides ( road and train ) . Mattres was dirty , very dirty, I used 2 bed sheets so I could feel more comfortable. No dish soap or anything like. I asked for a ventilator 2 days before my arrival, didn’t get any (it’s summer time and was very hot in Zurich those days , like 32-35 degrees) , I had to buy one . If you’re planning to cook , forget about it. The smell of the apartment wasn’t very good .

First, I made a mistake and tried to check into the wrong hotel. (There are several on the same block be sure to check your address.) If you enter the registration code (which you have to do before you arrive) correctly a key will come out. But since I was attempting at the wrong address it wasn't working. Silly me. Anyway, when I phoned in the first time the person sounded like he was enraged and couldn't understand me. It sounded so much like a scam and a voice recording that I couldn't believe I was going to have to book another hotel for the night. I called back a second time, got the same person, but we were able to talk -- the first time it seemed like I was talking to a recording of a raving mad man who wanted to help but couldn't understand or hear me. Hope youre experience goes well.

Only other complaints -- and maybe management should look into this -- the burner for the stove was on when I came into the room. Also, the outside balcony lead was not private - it leads to someone else's floor. There's no lock on the door so if you're worried about security, maybe don't book here. All in all the accmodation was okay, and the bed was quite comfy. It punches above its price but., well there's some issues. :).

The view was nice. The location is very close to the train station so one can quickly get to the city center for sightseeing. They also give you keys to the mailbox so I would imagine you could use this place as an temporary accommodation which many people seemed to be doing as the mailboxes had names on them. The room was equipped pretty well. There was a stove, microwave and a fridge with a freezer box. The utensils were plentiful and there were all kinds of plates. I even found an extension cord. Surprisingly the apartment lacked dish soap.

On the table there was an engraving of a male member. The apartment lock had screws on the corridor side which did not exactly transpire confidence. During the first night, I heard banging sound throughout the night. It was only later that I noticed that the elevator button may get stuck to my floor and cause the elevator to continuously open and close its doors. The sound made from the closing is very loud and can be heard from inside the apartment which is not even close the elevator. My window was facing the train tracks so I could hear trains passing by even when the balcony door was closed.

Jalousie, the size of the room was fine, bathroom and the room had all you need, comfy bed, big wardrobe, fridge, table, chairs, tv. nice view, easy check in and check out, staff reacted on my request within less than two minutes :), cleanliness. Didn't hear neighbors behind the walls. Good location - grocery stores, train station, everything very close.

The apartment is located next to the train = it is very loud the whole night if you keep the window open. We would appreciate a small fan (unfortunately the heat wave hit), a brush with scoop and a basic foam for dishes. The fee for a cat a bit too high in my opinion (20 CHF/night).

I liked the location, the laundry facility and the fan that was provided as it was peak summer temperature. Fridge, iron, microwave and kitchen facilities were great to have. The trains pass right across the street but the windows are so soundproof that you can’t hear a thing. That was really good.

Air conditioning is the only thing missing. The room gets stuffy if you shut the windows and noisy due to constant train movement if you open for fresh air.

Key pick up was quite straightforward. Room had a great view of the city. Communal areas had a strong curry smell. Rooms were quite basic BUT I appreciate it had all the essentials for cooking, storing food / clothes & keeping oneself clean. It had a desk too, which I appreciated as often these places don't. Very good location right next to station.

The noise from the station is loud, so bring earplugs. It's quite hot in the summer as no AC.

I will try my best to help fellow travelers - The location of this property is excellent ie. 1-2 min walk from the train station - This was the most affordable apartment near the train station in Zurich when I was booking the apartment - The kitchen has a stove, cutlery, and utensils which were all SUPER CLEAN - They have a machine that gives us our keys upon entering the password that the property sends us via email once we book. It was quick. We drop the keys again during the checkout. So check-in and checkout is quick. - This is a decent apartment, don't expect it to be extremely luxurious. Great for 1-2 nights if you want to stay in the city center and 1 min from the train station. It was great for me because 1 had to use the train frequently. - Bathroom is pretty small but very well equipped - There is no AC but I visited during September when it was very cool so not an issue. In summer it might be a problem there because you have to open the window and as the train station is nearby there could a little noise but once the windows are closed, it very silent and cozy room.

AC could be great for summer but again this is a budget apartment and for winter and autumn it's perfect.

Location was great,just few minutes from station.

Room is a bit small and was cleaned on 2nd day after check-in,the towels were removed but never replaced and there's totally no cleaning after that.the sound from the train is very noisy so got no choice but to shut the ventilation window thereby not giving any ventilation at all.

Considering Zurich is rather expensive this place is an actual life saver. it’s easily accesible by bus, tram and trains. Down town is just 15-20 minutes away. You book online and have easy access at all times. Oerlikon is pretty great. So, you have good restaurants, parks and places to walk. I added a picture of a cool local park. You get a picture of Swiss living on a less comercial note. Here you can see some of the corporate crowd, some suburban folks as well as some imigrant communities. Overall you have a nice, clean place, bathroom, little kitchen, frige, iron and hair dryer. So, you can pretty much have a comfortable stay. Very happy about having found this place.

The building itself is not the most attractive. The balcony was rather neglected by the cleaning services. I had to ask someone to provide details to connect to wi-fi. All of these are really minor details that I think you should keep in mind just to have the full picture. They did not affect our stay at all.

Bed was comfortable but cushions were not The Room was comfortable The apartment is well located to all transport.

There was nobody on site to assist with issues like the Tv which all channels were locked. There was no plug for the bath There is a lot of noise from neighbors.
