Lovely staff, fantastic location. Clean, traveled with a 6 month infant and the hotel met all our families needs.

Unfortunately our air conditioning was broken, it was shortly after 10pm when we found out and there was nothing which could have been done, asked service staff to escalate the issue the management and we were informed that there is no night manager after 10pm. When travelling with an infant during a hot spell of weather I didn’t think this was good enough but in fairness to the helpful service staff an extra fan was given to us. It was the only issue we had with our stay.

I had a room on the fourth floor. It was quiet, big, clean, with a very comfy bed and pillows so I could sleep well. There was a big work desk - nice, if you are travelling for work. I got the welcome bottle of a still water. I liked the electric kettle and the possibility to make a tea in the room, but there was also a nespresso machine for a coffee. The bathroom was big, clean, had a huge shower and there were also Rituals cosmetics so I felt very relaxed in it. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The whole service was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. I will come back again.

I could not adjust the heating so sometimes it was too hot in the room.

Though small, the room was very well equipped and the wet rom excellent. Air conditioning did not work, but windows opened. Breakfast varied from good to excellent depending on which staff member was in charge. Location was very central but in a pedestrian zone which complicated vehicular access.

We found it very odd that a hotel of this location and cost did not have its front desk open after 3 p.m. and that doors were closed (though openable by electronic key) after 11 p.m. Also, when we returned before 10.30 p.m. on Sunday the door was closed. The garage is a nightmare - set apart from the hotel, tight of access (recommend small cars only) and involves an embarrassing drive through pedestrianised streets.

Above all, I appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room, equipped with all that is needed for a comfortable stay. I liked the possibility to choose the type of pillow, it made a difference to the quality of my sleep

The hotel provides parking spaces in an underground car park one block away, but reaching it with the car without breaking road rules through the complex system of one-way and restricted access streets in the centre of Winterthur proved quite difficult (and Google Maps doesn't help). I recommend parking at the station, which is 5 minutes away from the hotel, and it costs less.

We chose to stay at the Sorell Hotel Krone because the hotel is within easy walking distance of the Winterthur train station that takes us directly to the Zurich Airport with a 15-minute train ride. The hotel met our very functional need, but was also a pleasant accommodation for us. It is close to the old-town city square, and there are numerous restaurant options nearby. We did not partake of breakfast due to our early airline depature, but the receptionist arranged complimentary sack lunches for us to take with us during our journey. The accommodation worked well enough for us that we would be happy to return in the future.

For some reasons, the automated window blinds raised and lowered on us when we were not expecting. Technology sometimes baffles us! Otherwise, we were quite happy with our stay.

I absolutely loved it. I told them my parents had a special celebration and they made a beautiful surprise. I also changed clothes for my civil wedding at the room. Absolutely great, staff awesome, comfortable room, and would highly recommend for anyone who stayed at Winterthur

Minor thing is a detail that for business trips you should book in advance business centres

The hotel is situated in a very strategic place, close to the station and very close to the Museums (5-10 minutes of a pleasant walk). The hotel and the room are full of "small" beautiful details that make the difference: for exemple, to find writing paper in a technological time is a present! More, the bed is perfect (with on the top a crown!), with various types of pillows, very silent (and I sleep with the window opened), the shower is perfect, as well as the temperature (I come from Brazil and I hate cold...). The restaurant is another must and people working at the reception receive you always with a smile. Making the check out, I received the present of a small duck (the symbol of the hotel) and a bottle of water with a ribbon and a card. Other detail: I arrived later than 6 pm, (the reception that day was already closed) and the hotel send me many e-mails with instruction for everything (and everything worked perfectly). So, thank you very much to the owner and to the staff, they deserve a crown!

Great location and staff, very clean and good size rooms. We visited on a very hot day and it was difficult to cool the room down for the nigh. Lovely breakfast. One tip. It's quite tricky to get there with a car as it is in the middle of the old town. Make sure you book a parking spot at the hotel in advance as there are only six spots available. Public parking is very close by but you need to add another 36 CHF per day to your stay.

Great location (we arrived by train), very clean, very quiet, great breakfast, very helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay.

Space is a little tight with a family of 4. Booking an apartment with kitchen(ette), we were hoping to have the option of having a simple dinner in, but there’s nowhere to sit, especially as the sofa is made up as a bed for the kids. The only bathroom is also an ensuite to the bedroom. Fine for young kids but would be better with a separate access.
