Bigatt Hotel & Restaurant

This is just a fabulous hotel; the cleanliness, amazing breakfasts and evening meals, the facilities and views of stunning Lake Lugano. Although the hotel is up on the hill and a pretty long walk from Lugano, you get the Ticino pass, which enables you to get free bus rides in Ticino, which was a welcome perk and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. However, what really makes this hotel so special is the incredible staff and manager. They are all wonderful people who clearly take great pride in this fabulous hotel and want you to have the most wonderful stay, which we certainly did. Thanks so much to Lorenzo, Boris, Alessia and all of the team for your kindness. I'm sorry I don't know all of your names but you are all incredible and I very much look forward to returning.

We stayed in the apartment, which is two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living and dining area and a full kitchen. The views are breathtaking; the staff tripped over to help us in any way they could; next door was a Grotto, and the pool area is AMAZING - this is a fabulous place to stay in Paradiso/Lugano. There is onsite parking suitable for larger cars. Great value for a family with a completely luxurious feel. Wouldn't stay anywhere else now that we have discovered it.

There wasn't anything to dislike about this place; it was perfect.

We're a family of 4. Stayed one night and regret that we didn't stay longer. Pros: - The hotel is fully renovated with very modern room & facilities while conserving the classic and historic feeling of original site & surroundings. - room was spacious, and the interior was very nice with good lighting conditions. - view was a bit limited lake view due to the original building structure, but maybe in another room, it should have a great lake view, as the hotel stood on the hill over the lake. - had a dinner and a breakfast at the hotel restaurant and food was very nice with at least one star quality, and people there provided really attentive and kind service. - They have dedicated, large size parking building (with a fee) Cons - It's actually a little far from Lugano center, but I knew it and it was not my problem. All in all, it is a much more modern and classy hotel than expected, and I would definitely stay here if I visit Lugano again.

Stunning views, beautiful setting, great pool, stylish & simple decor in rooms and around hotel, super clean, very friendly staff and tasty food. Our third stay here - think that says it all.

Bed a little too soft, pillows too, but this is a matter of preference, so a fairly minor complaint. They could offer firmer pillows at least as options. Small playground near/within eyeshot of restaurant terrace would also be fab for families with kids so that it's easier to keep them occupied during dinner.

All meals were excellent, staff were all friendly and kind, beautiful terrace view, lovely swimming pool and grounds. Rooms were large and comfortable and air conditioned which was very welcome due to a heat wave in the region during our stay. Just steps from the bus stop and a nice local restaurant.

Without a car you must rely on a once hourly bus, or walk a steep hill 11mins to a second bus line. Takes some planning, but worth it for the location.

Truly loved the location, the beautiful view, the lovely garden and pool, the tasty and carefully selected and home made breakfast and of course the exceptional friendly and very hospitable employees - they are outstanding and deserves a special mention. I highly recommend this gem!

When travelling without a car, be informed that the bus to the city centre of Lugano goes once (on Sunday) or twice per hour. And make sure to book the restaurant on time as the seatings are limited.

We learned from a taxi driver that this hotel was opened as a project, for individuals who found it hard to fulfill employment. This said, we were absolutely impressed with the level of attentiveness from the staff in all areas. Always greeted with a friendly smile and hello. The receptionist took time to tell us about some highlights about Lugano and what not to miss. The room we booked, was very spacious and very modern, with comfortable beds and beautiful view of the city below. The breakfast had an enormous selection of fresh and delicious assortment. The hotel also has it's own restaurant, witch requires reservation and is superb. This hotel and staff exceeded expectations in all aspects.

Spacious parking on side for only 18 CHF/night. Amazingly picturesque territory. Location is absolutely beautiful and about 15 min walking distance to embankment (or about 10 min to the city center by bus). Stuff were really friendly and reception girl with black hair were so kind and cute that even walked me to my room. The room has amazing window with high view to the whole city. Everything you can need can be found in the room – hair drier, fridge, mini bar, glasses, bath accessories. Room were clean and modern in perfect condition. Wi-fi worked properly. They gave me free ticket to public transport and discount offers for some partners. Breakfast was perfect with the great view If you get it outside. Would like to return there again ;)

Only one thing – lack of shoe spoon ;)

All superb. Be aware that if you want to eat in the restaurant (which has excellent reviews), you should book well in advance. We tried to book the day before & it was full. If you can’t get a restaurant booking at this hotel, there’s another lovely restaurant 1 minute walk away (Grotto Morchino). You should still book in advance but 1 day before was ok for us.

The building is amazing, the staff are lovely. the food is tasty and service is top quality.

Our room was on the top Floor and had only small Windows at weird locations and was lacking the amazing View that we otherwise would have. public transportation is a bit tricky as it passes once every hour.
