Hotel Spa Villalba

Hotel spa villaiba is a wonderful spa hotel and a great place to stop by for some time to relax. It is a clean place with great staff and provides quiet and unique view thanks to its location among the trees in the forest. The facilities are good and the hotel gives small sales to extra charged activities such as treatments and extra meals.

The restaurant is a little bit expensive and most of the places around are closed very early. Also, it is important to know that the hotel is located in a uphill which is about 10 minutes steep walk from the main route. (Especially important for those arriving to the hotel by public transportation with suitcases the bus doesn’t go up to the hotel); it’s not that bad and the place is worth it but it should be mentioned .

We really loved being able to kick back in the spa after a long days of hiking in the Teide National Park. The hotel is in a good location to access the park, about thirty minutes drive from Boca Tauce, on possibly the best access road to the park. The road from Santa Cruz seems to be closed often because of weather in the winter months, so staying in Vilaflor is a safer bet. Other nice things were the great showers, and the excellent breakfast spread, with eggs made to order.

We weren’t that impressed by our suite, and the bed was rather hard. Also, the dinner in the restaurant was a mixed experience, with some delicious black rice one night, then overcooked entrecôte and tuna the next. The selection of wine was decent, though, and the staff very helpful.

I loved the location, it is peaceful with a good choice of walks and easy access to the village. Breakfast was lovely and with an excellent choice. Dinner and the restaurant are very good with a good selection of food and drink and I enjoyed a relaxing after dinner drink in the lounge. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff was brilliant. Sadly, I didn't have chance to experience the spa.

If there had been a less formal bar area I could have used prior to changing for dinner, it would have been nice. But wasn't necessary.

A lovely location for the spa hotel but be aware you will need a car to get around. A number of interesting walks available right on the doorstep of the hotel. We also made full use of the facilities and the sauna, Turkish bath and swimming pool were all of a very good standard. The bed was very large and also very comfortable.

The food was acceptable but didn't really live up to our expectations over the 3 nights we were there. For example the meat was simply presented as a fried slab with no herbs or sauce and fried chips as an accompaniment. On another night the tuna steak was overcooked and dry. Overall the food just lacked a bit of imagination.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location set as it is amongst the pine forest The welcome is always friendly and the rooms are a delight . The spa is excellent and very calming . The whole experience is relaxing here ! Breads are freshly made in the restaurant . We return here every year for a night before our flight home and it gives us something to look forward to before we return to reality for a year !!

For me , meal options could include more local Canarian dishes and vegetable options .

It was in a great location, away from everything, stunning views, the property itself had a very calming feel about it, well decorated. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which isn’t usual for a Spanish hotel, also for those who wanted it, they also provided English tv channels. All the relaxation, sunbathing areas were set apart, so you could have privacy if wanted, set in their beautiful gardens.

There wasn’t anything not too like

The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The service and quality of food in the restaurant was extra good. Many space to rest in shadow. The rooms were very big.

The system wirh the towels does'nt work very well; Towels were taken for cleaning but not always replaced bij new ones. The start of the breakfast is a little bit late for a hotel far away from the airport.

good location, very friendly staff, the hotel is close enough to Teide national park and to the Pajsaje Lunar. very easy check in / check out, and it was possible to access spa after we checked out. We appreciated it very much after 14 km hike! We liked Villalba much more than hotel Parador, although it’s a different experience. The price to value ratio is top at the hotel Villalba! Because it’s not about the views, but about the customer service. The spa facility was great, and the food in the restaurant was tasty. The Villaflor Village is lovely and I would absolutely recommend everyone to visit it and to stay at the Hotel Villalba.

it’s common in Spain that restaurants are opened only at certain times, so no possible to eat at 17 for example. Also in all hotels where we have been on the Canary Islands, we found lots of flies entering rooms and restaurants. But I would not blame the hotel for that.

stayed in the hotel mainly for the proximity to Teide National Park as we were on a hiking holiday. did not know what to expect of the hotel but was blown away by the facilities. The spa was amazing with Turkish Bath, plunge pool, sauna , steam room, jacuzzi and pool. The setting of the hotel was idyllic set among the trees in the mountains. A lovely stay and would love to return.

Not a problem for us as we were there for hiking but there’s a lot of hills if you want to go anywhere and not an awful lot in the village of Vilaflor. As it is high up it can also be a lot colder and often among the clouds.

We loved the location, the surroundings of the hotel were spectacular, the spa had everything you could need, the food in restaurant (we had half board- breakfast & dinner),it had a very well equipped gym (my partner loved it), the peace & tranquility of the place, the hotel in general was fantastic and we got what we wanted which was to rest & relax. We loved the weather, warm during the day but cold during the evening & mornings, bear in mind it’s in the middle of the mountain!

I guess it’s a matter of opinion and personal taste but we felt the beds were too hard and it made our sleep a little uncomfortable! Also the room was a little warm for our taste, and although we got given a fan it was not the same as having a chilled room! Again, this is all down to personal preference!
