Hotel Talaso Louxo La Toja

I blame you guys at booking more than the staff at hotel. You had a line in Select a room just under breakfast included that said $33 board for my room and half board on some of others. Discussed this with desk person and figured that meant I could use that at one of their 3 Restaurants. Of course, very unlike me I opted for the gourmet dining and when I went to desk in morning was told I owed them the money. After wasting precious time arguing (in a nice way) I end up paying and nobody knows what the hell it meant with the $33 or half board! I’d like to have sent booking the bill because I would not of had the fancy dinner except I thought it was included even though it was a good meal!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The location is lovely on the inlet where we swam throughout the stay. The hotel is not good looking from the outside but does not disappoint inside. It is clean and smart and very comfortable. The pool is saltwater so when we didn't feel like the sea we had a swim in there. The pool area is lovely with palm tress looking out over the inlet. I had the most wonderful massage. I have had many massages over the years, at home and in hotels. This was without one of the best I have ever had. Despite the language barrier she was brilliant. I would go back for the at alone. All the staff were charming and helpful.

We ate the first night in the restaurant of the hotel which in our guide had said was one of the best on the island. It was not great with poor flavours and very expensive. However, the following two nights we ate in the bar and had superb food which was brilliant value and very good quality. Not fine dining but good quality ingredients well prepared.

+Really nice Hotel environment and location. +Excellent buffet breakfast with a nice variety. +The staff were really friendly and welcoming, I had some questions before coming and they replied immediately and everything was really nice - Excellent customer care. +Size of the room was really good, the electronic kettle in the room was a positive point. +Nice Spa Center and Marine Park.

However, some minor things: -The bed was not really comfortable and had a noise. -The room didn't have soundproofing and you could hear every movement and voice. -On the second day, coffee and tea didn´t charge after cleaning the room. -There wasn´t a bin for trash inside the room.

We stayed here during a major wind and rain storm. The waves outside our window were amazing. Even though the hotel is on the inlet and not directly on the Atlantic Ocean, the view of the water was stunning. The room was large and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very accommodating, especially in the midst of the storm. There were several restaurants just 2km away in a picturesque little fishing village. Galicia Spain is a seldom visited secret and the Isla de la Toja is magical.

It was perfect.

A lovely hotel in an idyllic location. Even though we stayed during particularly bad weather the fact that we were staying in such a lovely hotel made up for it. Ideal for exploring the surrounding region, beautiful seaside villages, the Rias Baixas, lovely coastal walks and Santiago, Pontevedra,Vigo and much more all within an hour’s drive. Loved the place and staff were really pleasant.

Nothing negative to say.

We enjoyed our short stay at this outstanding hotel. The location is right on the water, the spa was terrific, the outdoor pool too, and parking was easy. The rooms were large and comfortable. The price is very reasonable. Breakfast was very very plentiful and one of the best we've encountered in our many hotel stays throughout Europe. We highly recommend this hotel. We also loved seeing the church covered with scallop shells. The island itself is also charming.

Super location. Easy parking right outside front door. Large room and excellent bathroom with huge ,and powerful, walk-in shower. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Attentive service. Good bar and barman mixing excellent drinks. Definitely take " mussel cruise" . Boat, wine with refills, water, Baileys type liqueur and as many mussels as you can eat in 90 mins - All for 18 Euros per head.

A balcony for room.

Great views, great pool area, very good breakfast. The staff at the reception was very nice, same for the dining and breakfast rooms, the staff by the pool wasn’t that nice, we were given incorrect information regarding the towels to go to the pool and sent in the wrong direction, it was a bit frustrating but nothing too bad. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, there were absolutely no issues regarding the quality of the stay itself.

The half board dinner was a terrible option. For €30/person it’s a big disappointment, the food was tasty but basic (canned tuna and tomato salad, cordon bleu, fruit salad were some of the options), you only get one single glass of wine, one bottle of tap water and one coffee, honestly, for €60 for two people you can get A LOT better 5min away in the O Grove town many restaurants. It was definitely not a good choice and I do not recommend going for the dinner/half-board option. Everything else about the hotel was quite good.

Excellent hotel. It exceeded our expectations. The staff was very polite, the room was very cleaned, comfortable and with great views. Good spa and sauna facilities and excellent breakfast. It is also one of the few hotels left in the island run by local people. Highly recommended.

I cannot think of anything I did not like. We had a very positive experience.

Excelent hotel, with spacious rooms (mine had a breathtaking view of the "sea", confortable beds, restaurant, bar and several lounge rooms throughout the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always very attentive to any need we might have (a special thanks to Mercedes!). Breakfast had a lot of variety and quality. Natural juice, a lot of fresh fruit, variety of cheeses and homemade pastries where the typical churros could not be missed. I didn't try the indoor pool or spa, but it was available by appointment. Surely a hotel where to return to.
