Hotel Hospes Maricel y Spa

Beautiful old world hotel with a modern touch. Excellent value for money in off peak season. Rooms are split between the original hotel building with refurbished rooms and a new building across the street which is accessed via tunnel. My room in the original old building had a beautiful view for amazing sunrise.

The service overall was very good, especially from the reception/concierge desk. Breakfast service was a little patchy with long waits for hot dishes.

Hospes Maricel is a luxurious hotel in a charming neighborhood about a 10 minute drive from Palma. The staff is incredibly nice and responsive. The rooms are comfortable, modern, and clean. The outdoor pool overlooking the sea and the spa area are incredible. Parking is available at the hotel for 14 Euro/day. There is a wide sidewalk in the area for running and cycling, as well as several little restaurants and supermarkets in the area.

Location is excellent, right on top of the coast, beautiful views to relax and waste time with a drink of your choice. 20 mins from main airport, and 20 mins from Palma for a opportunity to sight see or shop. Room is beautifully styled, clean and modern. Hotel staff are so friendly and helpful. Thankyou.

Visited hotel at end of November and shame the plunge pool in the hotel room wasn't heated, so couldn't use it due to cooler weather, but enjoyed the free hotel spa instead.

The team arranged a car to collect us from the airport, which as we arrived on a late evening flight worked well for us. The pool staff and pool area is beautiful and the spa cave rooms were really special, definitely have a treatment if you can. The hotel is in a beautiful old building and the modern but equally lovely annexe building is a walk under the road through well manicured gardens and a well kept pathway. It is an easy taxi ride to Portals and Palma.

The check in was a little slow and often the reception team were on the phone or busy with other people so it was a wait to speak with them. It wasn't their fault but guess they may have been short staffed. Guests had a long wait for a taxi.

you have to cross the street or tunnel to go to the main building for restaurant , lobby, bar etc the rooms are not in the main building, but opposite the street bathroom included in the hotel room

The room was nice and spacious. Pool area and pool staff were super nice and friendly.

For a five star, the notion of service and flexibility was lacking. While some staff were genuinely nice, others had more of an attitude. As for food in the hotel, low price-to-quality - better off eating at the places nearby. The hotel is also in a very urban area, more than the photos will make you believe. The view from the pool is mostly buildings (and constructions) all around.

I know it really well as l’ve stayed there many times. It’s quiet, comfortable and upmarket

The computer system at breakfast was down and both mornings l was left waiting for 15 minutes or so to sign my bill. On leaving it was a bit shambolic. My bill was wrong by €150 and they couldn’t find the receipts. Various out of date or just wrong receipts were attached to my account. Shambolic for a 5 star expensive hotel.

Staff were brilliant, from the minute you arrived, parked the car and gave us a welcome drink, very relaxed, great location, had steps straight into the sea, and a wonderful pool area

We booked a room which is in a building behind the main hotel which was a mistake as it had no view, and not a fault of the hotel but the local buses stopped outside our room for half an hour at a time with there engines running which got really annoying. Menu was a bit lacking for the type of hotel

One of a kind hotel. The staff, amenities, location and architecture of the hotel is exceptional.

only a couple very small details which coming from a very observant person is great! These being: reception bathroom under the mirror had electrical wires showing. The TV in our sweet was outdated didn’t provide the option to Bluetooth which when getting ready or winding down from the day is frustrating.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. The location right by the sea is great and so are the facilities.

Only the staff could be more attentive and friendly - that was already the case last time. Ordering usually takes a long time. And a single coffee machine (self-service) in the breakfast room is a no-go for a five-star hotel.
