It’s importent to understand what sort of place this is. It’s a traditional Korean guest house. You sleep on a thin mattress on the floor. One guest staying at the same time as us was expecting it to be a bit more like a Holiday Inn and seemed disappointed. The facilities are basic, but provide everything you need. We thought it was great and would certainly stay again if in the area. The owner is the perfect host. Very eager to please and has provided many extras in the communal part of the guest house - microwave, chilled water, tea & coffee etc. The location couldn’t be better. It’s near the river, on the edge of the Hanok village, which is a big tourist attraction.

We arrived by hire car on a sunny Sunday afternoon. As it’s such a popular attraction, all the nearby parking spaces were full, but we were still able to park on a street the other side of the river. Obviously there is no parking at the guest house itself. Be aware that there were only two double mains outlets in our room, the fridge uses one and the TV and cable box use two others. If you have lots of phones and gadgets needing overnight charging, you would do best to bring a multi-device charger, or else do without the TV. One less obvious thing is that because you sleep on a mattress on the floor, the floor has underfloor heating for comfort. If you need to wash shirts and underwear, laying them flat on the floor will get them nice and dry by the morning.

It was a beautiful Hanok with a nice garden. The owner was so nice and everything was perfect. It was in a good location. I was told I got upgraded in a double room instead of a single room, so I was a little surprised how small the room was, but it is not a big deal, I mean I am in a foreign country so I will anyway use the room only for sleeping. For everyone who has never been to Korea (or Japan), you will sleep on a tradtionial futon on the floor so don’t expect a super soft matress! I love the futons so it was perfect for me.

The internet was not amazing, but it just makes you spend more time off the phone, wich is great since there is a pretty garden to just enjoy!

1) The location: near the Hanok village but quiet enough. 2) I am never lost getting back to the Hanok because a distinct landmark for Happiness Full Guesthouse is the Namcheon Bridge with 청 연 루 pavilion atop. 3) Mr Kang, the owner, is the most engaged, accommodating and helpful host I have met. He is at the Hanok most of the time and will respond to any message and accede to requests whenever possible. 4) Coffee machine dispenses coffee brewed with freshly ground coffee beans on demand. 5) Small but neat garden. 6) The whole place is very clean.

Seriously, nothing at all

I really enjoyed my stay ! After having watched so many historical dramas, it was nice to experience it in real. The owner was really nice and I really liked the fact that there was a common room. It was a great way to meet people! And regarding the comfort, after reading the other comments, I was afraid that it might me uncomfortable but in fact I had the best night ever ! I'm team hard mattress so this was so nice ! I think I'm going to sell by bed once... And I was also afraid the room would be too small for one person, it was just perfect.

I only stayed one night and I can't think of anything that I didn't liked

Location is fabulous if you plan to visit the most famous attractions in Jeonju. Everything Is on a walkable distance. Also, the host is very friendly and helpful with any concern, I had some troubles with wasps appearing on my room suddenly and the host let me change room for the rest of my stay. I would recommend this place if you wanna experience what is staying in a hanok house and specially sleeping on a futon for 1 or 2 nights (not for a long stay)

Unfortunately I think the rooms/wc/common areas need a deep and thorough clean, let me clarify that rooms and appliances and bedsheets are definitely clean and washed, however, I could notice that there was a lot of spiderwebs, dust and insects inside the room/wc/common areas :( . Also if you book a room for 1 person, bear in mind the room space is so tiny that I traveled with a 23k bag and I couldn't let it open most of the time, there was not enough space for me, the futon and my bag haha.

The style, the hannok, was great, the location was excellent, the courtyard was great. The floor was heated, and the bathroom was efficient, although strange at first. Right in front of a beautiful river.

It could have been cleaner, the temperature was hard to regulate, and the hot water for coffee did not work very well, but these are minor things. Travelers need to be warned to avoid Monday because all the museums and the folk demonstrations are closed. Jonju Hanock village is fantastic, but come on Tuesday to Sunday

Happiness Hanok was simply wonderful! From the moment we got there, the host treated us so kindly, as though we were family. He upgraded us to a family room (we had only ordered a double room) without our asking. The hanok itself was lovely, with heated floor, water bottles and tea provided. It was situated right next to the river, in the hanok village where there are many attractions and eateries. When we were checking out, he made sure to check our bus route (which he figured out was actually wrong), and called the tourist centre for us to help us organise our plans. We could not have asked for a better host.

Located just at the edge of the old town, or touristic center, allows for an optimal arrival with car or taxi, while you're still immediately dive into it. As foreigner you can experience sleeping on the heated ground, the traditional Korean way. For me it was uncomfortable the first day but worked great the second night. The owner was very helpful at arrival and departure, just getting us a parking lot when we were unable to find one, helped with the luggage and was lenient when we didn't match the checkout time, a thing you really shouldn't do as it directly impacts their work schedule and efforts.

If you select a Hanok to stay, and know halfway what to expect, there wouldn't be anything wrong with this place. Of course rooms are small, so you have to make room with the bedding at daytime to organize your belongings.

We had a lovely stay at Happiness Hanok Guest House. The garden outside was beautiful and the facilities were everything we needed within our budget. It is in a very good location for sightseeing the Hanok village. Our host even kindly helped us order a taxi in the morning and carried our luggage to the meeting spot. The beds were futon beds so just keep this in mind when considering comfort, but it was a unique experience for us. Thank you!

Nothing, it was great.

What a great place in Jeonju as an experience sleeping in a (very) cozy hanok house! The room has a lot of modern facilities such as air conditioning, cable TV, a hairdryer, and an automatic toilet. As a hanok guesthouse, I slept on the floor, in a comfy and lovely futon bed. The Guesthouse street is in front of the Namcheongyo bridge, where we can see the sunset, and a few steps from the Hanok Village attractions. I reached the guesthouse from the Jeonju train station taking a bus, which took around 30min. Mr. Kang - my host - gave me a map and I could check that all attractions of the Hanok Village were within walking distance - from the Cathedral to the Jaman Mural Village. The touristic point that is a bit from the village is the Deokjin Park. It took around 30 min to get here by bus.

There is nothing that I can mention that I didn't like.
