Grand Hotel Primus - Terme Ptuj - Sava Hotels & Resorts

The hotel has a good location, away from the town in a quiet area. It is a pleasant walk through the park along the river Drava into the city center. The town Ptuj is old with a nice castle, which serves as a museum (inside are collections of paintings, musical instruments, antique furniture). The tour of the castle is individual without a guide. We stayed in the Grand hotel Primus 3 nights in an economy room with balcony on the 3rd floor. It was equipped with a kettle and large tea cups. There were several herbal and fruit tea bags in the room. The minibar was empty, but we used it as a fridge. The accommodation was comfortable, the hotel was quiet and peaceful, the room was warm and the shower had hot water. We liked the hotel spa center. The pool is not very big, but there were not many people in it, so you can swim, if you want. Thermal water is not very warm (30-35 degrees). We highly rate saunas with a small thermal pool for 3 people. You can enter the saunas once a day for 4 hours and you will receive a towel. You can go to the hotel swimming pool all day and also to the public baths which are across the road, but the public pool is a bit shabby and there are people in bathing suits in the sauna. Half board was excellent: a large selection of meat for dinner and fresh pastries, eggs, pancakes, waffles for breakfast. Breakfast is served as early as seven o'clock. The hotel has a large parking lot that is free of charge.

In the morning there was a smell of waste in the bathroom, but nothing terrible.

Wonderful staff ! Wonderful thermal facilities. As half-board hotel guests, we were spoilt for choice as we have unlimited access to the saunas, water parks, indoor and outdoor thermal pools. Our favourite is the very private sauna area where we spent two hours in total relaxation. There is a myriad of saunas, thermal pools and a large and secluded rest area with a secured garden to be one with nature in the buff. The cherry on the cake has to be the hot tub in our hotel room. It is like having access to thermal waters 24x7! We were bowled over by the strong waterjets in the indoor jacuzzi. For those who like outdoor pools and water parks, Terme Ptuj has the offerings with a decent restaurant. What made Primus memorable is the friendly and helpful reception and spa staff who went out of their way to help us throughout our stay. With Maya's help, and after an exhausting flight, I was able to celebrate my partner's birthday with a bottle of champagne to boot! Thanks also to Natasha with her regaling hotspring tales, Mônica and Sabina for a touch of lavender to de-stress. We traveled here the second time and will go back again. This is an amazing place for families. We love the indoor and outdoor pool area of the hotel and the beach just opposite the hotel is also very good. Food is also good. The staff is friendly and very helpful, especially Sabina and Maja at the reception.

Excellent hotel and thermal bath. Proper place for a family holiday. The room and wellnes area are all very tidy and clean. They have high quality wellnes service: saunas, massage, facial treatments, manicure etc. We were travelling with a small child, all the facilities are children friendly, large children’s pool is also available. The city itself is a charming little town.

The surroundings of the accommodation were good, the room was like in the pictures, so it was fine. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The bed was comfortable, but the pillow was very hard.

The use of the sauna was not included in the price, even though they were told that the use of the full wellness area was included in the price. If we went down later for breakfast there were no fresh things on the table, e.g. no cold cuts and cheese at 9.30am. The air conditioning was not working properly. The bed was comfortable, but the pillow was very hard.

A good breakfast with plenty of choice. A well staffed hotel, all of whom were very friendly and helpful. Sauna and steam room area was excellent. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant was very good, a wide choice and well cooked. An easy walk from the hotel into the town which is worth exploring.

The room was a little on the small side and rather too warm. Other than that everything else was very good

The room is really comfortable and the beds are amazing to sleep in. The balcony was a big plus. We really love that even on the check-put we could use the pools the whole day.

The breakfast could be a but better, but we went really late so could be also our fault.

Pools need some repair - may tile coming off Buffet selection is huge but medium quality Guests are expected to use the one large towel from their bathroom for the pool and sauna

The hotel was very nice and the staff was helpful. The price of accommodation also includes entrance to the aqupark and to the pools in the hotel. It's a pity that the entrance to the aqupark is valid only on the day of arrival. When you come later you don't have a chance to try it.

Food in the restaurant was great, the choise of food in the dinner buffet is really huge. The Spa in the hotel is much better then Ptuj Terme across the street

The Spa is little outdated, needs better maintenance
