Hotel Ibn-Arrik

The hotel rooms are beautifully kept with lovely patterned rugs and classic furniture. Everything is very clean and the location is great, near the botanical gardens, acquaduct and university. The staff were very accommodating with supplying crockery and cutlery for us to enjoy our Take Away meal on the terrace in the evening. Breakfast was great and offered a large variety of fruits, pastries, egg, bacon etc. The hotel has interesting history and artworks and it would have been lovely to have a page in the room explaining the Royal history in English to make it more personal. This is more than just an average hotel.

The staff are very friendly and try their best to communicate well English but bit can be a little difficult. Unfortunately the bar was closed and it would have been nice to be able to order drinks.

Quite simply the beast place I stayed in Portugal - if anywhere ! Beautiful big rooms - wasn’t expecting a whole extra sitting area, flash bedroom area, flash bathroom area. Absolutely beautiful. Even small things we reperfect - like comfy firm pillows and mattress - you would think a basic, but so many hotels fail on this. I was so impressed with everything. The location is perfect - down the road from the university and botanic gardens, close to cafes and bars down the road, but a quieter area. AND there was a swimming pool ! Absolutely perfect stay.

The hotel is kinda hidden on one of the most central streets in Coimbra. It’s very quiet place, with outdoors terraces, gym, pool and sauna arena. The high- end and high-ceiling room was very clean with very nice furniture. we felt cosy and right at home. It was very clean and equipped with everything we hoped- bathrobes and mini fridge. it has walk in bathroom from the room and a lot of mirrors. it offers garage and nice breakfast

I loved the beautiful artwork everywhere. The room, especially the bed, was very comfortable. The breakfast was great! The people were very nice. The hotel was extremely clean. The pool was nice, if a little warm. I don't think they used chlorine, which is always a bonus.

I really liked everything! The only improvement I would suggest is to have the jets going in the pool and make the water a little cooler.

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful! Good location next to botanical garden and close to old University! Good breakfast! Clean and beautiful rooms.

Nights were rather noisy. Cars passing regularly and apparently students celebrate the beginning of the academic year in that area. Breakfast was good but often not ready at 7:30 which is unfortunate when workdays start early. The gym is very small and equipment is poor and partially broken.

A very well furnished, big and comfortable room with AC which saved me after I went to the hotel from the station by foot (do not recommend with luggage, take a bus or taxi) and arrived all hot and sweaty. They have awesome shampoo in the bathroom! The breakfast was delicious.

Me and another couple had a bit of a problem with the lock to our rooms door.

The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was very friendly at the front desk and Enrique at breakfast was very helpful. The swimming pool was clean and the ladies at the front desk recommend the tour with Armando which was the best activity in Coimbra as he was very knowledgeable and funny

Location of hotel is really good, it's 15min walking distance from city center and all major facilities.

The hotel needs renovation, especially the pool and spa center. The bathroom and toilet are practically in the room, they are not separated from the room by a door, it can be uncomfortable if you are with a girlfriend or a friend and have to go to toilet. I

No bar service at the beautiful bar and lounge area they have inside the hotel. Fridge didn't work Safe didn't work.

The room was fabulous. Location for the tourist sites, particularly the university and botanical gardens, was excellent. The young receptionist was really helpful. I would recommend the restaurant, PAPA, which is just around the corner from the hotel.
