Grand Regal Hotel Davao

Booked here because of an event we would be attending. The rate was a good value (much better than what the hotel offered to the event host). Our room was on the renovated floor so the furniture seems updated (appliances and bathroom still outdated). Centralized AC was strong, water pressure in the bathroom also strong. Bidet, hot/cold shower and hairdryer (albeit old) were greatly appreciated. Mattress and pillows were decent.

Blanket was just a flat sheet. We asked for thicker blankets from housekeeping but they never came (we just adjusted the AC temp). Breakfast viands were not good: greasy chicken sausage, unsalted scrambled eggs, beef longanisa (tasted like meatballs with sweet sauce), unseasoned fried bangus. Their savings grace was bacon served on both days we were there. Dining staff were also slow to clear tables and inattentive.

The beds were very comfortable and the interior of the room cozy. The room is clean and the water pressure is good.

We arrived late at night and due to technical problems there was no hot water the first night, but it was taken care of and the problem was resolved within an hour. We booked a room with a family of three, but we got a third towel for an extra charge. Also ask the waiters for extra blankets and pillows. We also paid separately for the third breakfast and it was expensive, not corresponding to the quality of the price. The first breakfast was a disappointment rather than an omelette and fruit. The choice of food the next morning was therefore a positive surprise. It is worth contacting the men at the reception...they are more flexible, more responsive and oriented more towards your well-being and the hotel's reputation than the possibilities of receiving all the extras.

Place was accessible to all commercial area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Compliments to Chef Gary and staff, great and delicious buffet breakfast 😋

Just a minor thing, slippers were not available when requested. Renovations was on going which was not mentioned when booking, so we got confuse on arrival at early am.

there is elevated tiles on floor by the restaurant on ground floorthat is dark and it is well camouflaged. If you are walking not looking down it could be potential trip hazard. Also the piano on raised floor can be trip hazard.

Close to Davao International Airport

Our group stayed there (5 rooms) so that our kids can use the swimming pool the following day. However, we were told a day later that our kids couldn't use the pool as it was undergoing maintenance. This information was not found on the website nor clearly signposted at the hotel at least a day before we were supposed to use it.

maybe the location. if u dont have a car then it is quite far from the other establishments. but quite near to SM Lanang.

The restaurant and the staff.

The entrance was at the back due to renovation and it made it inconvenient to have access to the casino. The water on the 7th floor was not hot it was just room temperature. Everything else was satisfactory.

the ambiance is really good, the place is so clean, the food is delicious

they don’t have other amenities like hair dryer and iron. which is for us travelers is important
