Dr. Holms Hotel

My wife and I, we would like to sincerely thank Ms. Linn, manager of the reception, for her very kind and thoughtful customer-oriented service to warmly welcome us in your hotel  and to take good care of us, with free upgrade our room, making us very happy customers of your hotel! Our special thanks also go to Mr. Kai who has tried his best to help us.  We highly appreciate your tremendous efforts to keep the good reputation of your hotel! We are really happy to make the good and right choice to stay in your hotel twice when we go to Bergen and come  back from Bergen!

Greta location at the bottom of the ski slopes and only five mins. walk to shops and train station. Hotel has many food and drink options. Very extensive breakfast offered, tasty light lunches in the bar and a good restaurant. Evening bar food not quite so good but still acceptable. Did not use the spa or swimming pool but they both looked good. Extensive range of other activities (bowling, table football and shuffleboard) all very enjoyable although at extra cost.

Room was very small and bathroom facilities quite outdated, although everything worked OK. Our room was directly over the bar which was Ok for the majority of the stay as the hotel was relativly empty and quiet. However on the final night of our stay we were kept awake until after 1am because the hotel had arranged for a local band to play. When we complained we were told that we should have requested a room away from the bar but as we had no advance warning of the proposed entrtainment we think this was an inadequate response and felt it was poor organization on behalf of the hotel.

The location close to Geilo centre, skiing facilities (hire, lifts, ski school) plus the hotel facilities- awesome spa with rooftop jacuzzi! Lots of space for you to hang out in various lounges. Good options for food with either buffet evening meal, a la carte or more casual sports bar (they also allow you to take away) if you fancy a meal in! Nothing is too much for the friendly staff. Best hot chocolate in Europe. We will return.

Nothing. A super Winter break and a welcome change from the manic and crazed slopes we usually experience in February half term in the Alps!

The hotel is very close to the train station. Indoors is very authentic with all old photos and typical Norwegian decorations. Staff was friendly and smiling. Room was spacious.

The cleaning was not good. All the glasses in our room was dirty that we had to wash ourselves. The toilet wasn't cleaned throughly. The wellness center was closed at 15 on sunday and all day on monday. Turkish bath and outdoor jakuzi were also closed. I expected a kettle and/or coffee machine in the room with some tea and/or instant coffee in a 4 star hotel.

I liked the pool and made immediately use of it once I had checked in. The breakfast was nice and the location was perfect as it was in walking distance to the train station

For some reason the TV and lamp were not plucked in. It took me a while to figure out that the socket for the TV was actually in the upper corner of the room. The changing room to the pool was a little bit dirty and there were no more towels left. Luckily I had brought my own with me.

This hotel is beautiful. It is located with a gorgeous view in close proximity to winter sport facilities. The hotel has a boeling rink, restaurant and bar and is a lovely place to visit for all seasons. Breakfast buffet was excellent

Travelling with 4 month old baby that is not taking the boob, i have to pump and serve in bottles. This equipment must be sterilized between each use. Normally this done in the microwave, however no microwave oven is available neither to the public, nor in the reception area (which would have been fine). One existed in the kitchen, but the kitchen closes at 2230, and it was too small to fit the sterilizer box inside. We were desperate, but in the end we were offered a teawater boiler that we could heat boiling water to sterilize the equipment. Problem solved, but if there are more than a few pumping mamas visiting - they will run low. A recommendation to the hotel is to keep a larger microwave oven in the reception area to solve this problem

Room was super clean. Housekeeping is doing excelent work. Staff was friendly and profesional. Mainly waiter Lukas in Sport bar and Steve and Viktoria on breakfast. Rich breakfast, good coffee. And tasty food in Sport bar. Girls on reception very helpful. Super comfotable bed in the room. Swimming pool area without towels, but it is just detail. Also massage was amazing. Absolute happiness. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

* very-very clean * great premises and decorated beatifully to Christmas * bathtub * staff kindly waited for us when we came to breakfast the minute they were closing

* No info in written neither in the room or at the reception about brekfast time * Breakfast closing at 9.30. As we were wrongly informed or just misunderstood brekfasts time, we came down to brekafst just the minute it was closing :(. At this point all food was cold.

Very relaxed atmosphere and generous breakfast board. The staff are really pleasant and helpful. Loved that it was so accessible to the Slopes and local shops, and the view from our bedroom across the valley was utterly stunning!

The bed mattresses were just a little too soft for us, but the room was so cosy and clean, we coped just fine.

Location was central, therefore good. The room and beds were very comfortable. There was a wide selection for breakfast... We very much liked the spa with Hammam, sauna and pool - this was a big attraction. Just a pity the outdoor whirlpool didn't work on our visit...but a great view and panorama from the whirlpool....

There was some noise from the trains passing during the night.. which kept one of us awake...
