Central city, close to supermarkets, railway Station and shops Good to have parking on site
We thought the hotel should have advised as a matter of courtesy at the time of booking (certainly before our arrival) of the construction work (pounding of piles for the new Dunedin Hospital) opposite the hotel. The pile driving started around 7.15am through to 4.30/5.00pm. While it didn't disturb us much it could be most disconcerting to anyone of a nervous disposition. Reception hours seemed to finish around 3.45/4.00pm. Several people including ourselves were frustrated that the after hours phone took so long (at least 10-15 mins) to be answered. Eventually another guest let us in to the hotel on our arrival so we could get our access key and car park number.

Walking distance to CBD, supermarkets, shops etc. Right on the main road, easy to find from airport in hire car using GPS. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful :-)
No fan in the bathroom, steamed up quickly and damp. No mirror in the room other than in bathroom so no full-lenth mirror. Shower had gap in bottom seal of door so water/soap suds leaked onto bathroom floor during every shower, not helping the steam and general dampness in bathroom after every use because of lack of fan. Minor points really, overall stay was amazing, definitely recommend - travelled with friends and their bathroom had a fan etc. so just our room.

The towels are not replaced on a Sunday. Although it states that on the bottom of page 9 of the welcome book (not an obvious note), and is apparently stated on the tv screen, there is no notice on the kitchen cupboard door (there are other notes on there) and no note on the bathroom mirror (there is a different note on there), I wasn’t aware. When I questioned Tim at reception, he wasn’t particularly pleasant with his response. Towels were supplied. Other rooms were serviced. Why are all rooms not serviced on a Sunday ?

Have stayed at Quest a number of times and its always one of my first picks for accommodation. The place is always clean, tidy, warm and beds comfortable. Great position to town, undercover parking and overall just a brilliant place to stay.
Unfortunately, this time round, we checked in quite late, after the main reception was closed, which was fine. But when we went to use the Bell intercom at the parking entrance, like instructed to gain access to the building, the Bell didn't work. I was just about to panic about how to get in, when thankfully another guest was leaving and I was able to enter the building and gain access to the lockbox with our room keys. I am not sure what I would have done had this not had happened, so I hope they fix the bell soon or sort out an alternative method for guests checking in out of reception hours.

Great location - very central and convenient. Secure parking. Very comfortable stay. Not too noise even though on main road. Good black out curtains. Best water pressure in shower of any hotel/motel I've stayed at. Good kitchen facilities. Good sized apartment.
Having to pay for parking - not really any off street parking so only option. Got a bit confused how to get into the reception as were able to park in the car park but needed a card to get into the reception area from the car park.

Everything, location was perfet, our room 101 clean and lovely. Parking was excellent but made the accommodation more expensive for us with air fares/car hire and accommodation. It would have been nice if car park was free. This is second time we have stayed at Quest. Before under different management I think 15 years ago. Great place to stay.
Nothing really, just the car park but was understandable.

Generally all went well
The after-hour access process (Phone was outside next to the garage door) was inconsistent with the instructions given (phone on RH of the front door). I was with a party who were asked to pay for their stay in spite of the fact that I booked the stay for the party and I was to pay for it all via Booking.com. I was in 219 and the others in 211 and 212. Yes, embarrassment all around. But we will survive. The processes need to be smoothened a bit more.

Secure undercover parking available at $15 per night - accessible at all hours Location close to supermarkets, local hospital and main shopping area of town Room was clean and modern, comfortable bed and great shower pressure. Kitchen facilities with a range of hot beverage sachets and biscuits, tv with sky, and information on local restaurants in compendium. Accessible from main highway although traffic noise was minimal.
Sound proofing between rooms and the hallway noise. Breakfast selection doesn't cater for those with dietary needs.

Room was big, bed was big and comfy, shower was nice. The apartment itself was great. Afterhours entry was easy.
Unfortunately there’s a massive building site next door which means quite a bit of building noise on week days. Not the fault of the apartment but good to know if you’re noise sensitive.

Ideal location for all graduation activities. Rooms are great, really nicely set up for an extended family group with adjoining rooms, kitchen and laundry. Lovely and warm in winter.
Reception staff were friendly, but only just. The advertised free gym access was not available and 'daily' servicing does not include Sundays. There was no access to rubbish disposal or clean towels and no notice at check in of no Sunday room servicing. Staff were grumpy when we asked for clean towels.
